Lemonayde (Lemonade)

Lemonayde is a long-overdue dating app built by and for singles living with health challenges.

A message from our team:
“Life gave us lemons. We made Lemonayde.”

THE VOICES THAT STARTED IT ALL…
“Dating is already daunting as it is. Add a complex health condition to the mix and it’s almost enough to make you quit before trying.”

“We were having such a great time, then I remembered I still needed to have 'the talk' with him at some point (sarcastic yay).”

“I’m not sure which is worse, the sporadic flare ups or the abstruse explanations I’ll need to come with to cancel a first date three times in a row.”

“Instead of asking “Why me?”, I ask “Who else?”. But seriously, though, WHO ELSE?”

“Being with someone who is going through a similar (or the same) challenging situation, can really lighten the load. And opens up a whole new level in a relationship.”

ANOTHER MESSAGE FROM OUR TEAM
Love YOU First!
The best advice I've ever gotten...
When it comes to finding love, it’s kind of like making a sale - if you don’t believe in your own product, it’ll be tough to convince someone else to buy what you’re selling. More importantly, by loving yourself, you show yourself how to love your partner and show your partner how to love you. Love YOU first.

This is and will always be our mission statement.

We may call it a dating app but our mission goes way beyond that.

SAFETY TIPS
1) Never give out your phone number or address before meeting in person several times.

2) Always plan the first several dates in public places.

3) Never hesitate to contact us to report a concern regarding another member.

4) Always trust your instincts.

I'm gonna give the app 4 because it works decent and the layout is easy to use. It doesn't have enough people yet. There were 3 people close to me (within 100ish miles). I think if this app could somehow advertise itself in the right places it could grow significantly. There are a lot of people who are chronically not well.

I was so excited about this app! So, when I reached the point of adding my location, the app doesn't "detect" that I actually HAVE the location permissions on. Sad face. I will keep trying...it would so be worth it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, it could definitely be a case of "apping-after-night-time -meds-are-on-board" 🤪👧

There are so many things that don't work about this app. Different issues for different people I guess. for me, when I try to change my settings and hit the "done" tab, nothing happens. As a result, my matches live 3000 miles away and are half my age. I don't know why the creators of this app don't respond to these reviews....

too buggy and not enough people. I had the same 6 or 7 guys show up in total. I feel like this app has so much potential and it's really exciting to see something like this for people with chronic illness but I just don't think it's at that point yet where it can be like any other dating app

Great idea, but no matter what i do, it doesnt recognize my location, so i cant get any matches. so basically, a waste of time.

Cannot change distance after first save. Photos upload then clear. App is buggy.

I paid $9.99 for a 30 day subscription. I was not able to see any other members. I could not edit my location. This site is bogus and a waste of time and money.

It can't get my location to let me even use the app. I was so excited and now it's just a big let down.

Great concept. But I live in the bay area and only had 3 available matches.

There's no one in my area and there's a glitch in the settings that won't allow me to expand my search.

It won't load my photos and there isn't anyone near me, but I hope this gets popular in the future

Worst waist of time

I am so excited that someone had such a great idea. Often in the past I have been reluctant to flirt even if someone was interested in me because I was worried about having to eventually tell them about my health conditions. Even worse was when I got up the courage but they eventually got tired of "being understanding" of my health issues. This is a great space to find other people who have already had a thought about romance with someone living with a chronic illness. So excited to see who I might meet.
