Lezyne GPS Ally v2

Part of our GPS Trinity (You + Phone + Lezyne GPS), the Year 10 Lezyne Ally app is the key link between your phone and your Lezyne GPS device. The free app features the latest interactive and real-time technologies that will enhance your cycling experience. Once paired to one of our Year 10 GPS devices, you'll be able to enjoy features like Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Strava Live Segments and Phone Notifications. Additionally, the app is an easy-to-use resource to instantly save, store and review rides. Rides can then be auto-synced to Strava and shared to popular social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter.
With Ally, you can also take advantage of our Lezyne Track feature. When enabled, simply create a list of email addresses in the app and those recipients will then be notified every time you start a ride. These notification emails will include a link to our live tracking website where friends and loved ones can keep track of where you are and see all of your ride metrics.

This app is for use with Lezyne Y10 GPS Devices (2017 Model Year)To determine if you have a Lezyne Y10 GPS Device, check to see there is a silver bezel around the the GPS device. Only Y9 GPS Devices have a silver bezel. Our Y10 GPS Devices do not have a silver bezel.

Not happy with the new look (or Reskin.... ) - I just don't like the white on black background, and there seems to be all sorts of irrelevant stuff going on while the app gets up and running. I have been experiencing serious problems getting my phone to establish contact with my Mega C.... working on this. Looking at my wife's Wahoo.... Original review.....Works fine for connecting to my Mega C. Route editor doesn't work so well - I am using RideWithGPS to construct routes.

App could be better designed, should be better translated or at least allow choosing english language interface. Does its job.

Works well, but a light theme would be nice. I'm not a huge fan of the dark theme in the latest version.

Every time there's an update I am hopeful the Bluetooth issues will be a thing of the past. Still waiting. In order to connect I have to go into the Android connection settings, unpair, then re-pair with the device. That's a pain but I could live with it if it actually stayed connected after going through all that. It doesn't. I don't know at what point it disconnects but I have to check my phone periodically to see if I missed any messages because it drops connection to the device (i know, out riding should be able to forget the rest of the world but that's not reality). That said, the app itself functions well and the route builder is really good.

When it actually pairs with your phone as it is supposed to, I think it is decent. I havent tried the nav functions yet, but organizing the GPS devices' data fields is easy, I could recieve email notifications while on a ride (handy for some but I soon turned it off), and auto- uploading rides. That said, it often just doesn't pair with the device. It worked fine for some weeks, then didn't. Worked again, then didn't. As far as I know, both my GPS unit and this app are up to date. A failure.

this app works incredibly, all parts work together, the unit, the app and the website. captures all pertint info. the GPS works perfectly, phone notifications are a neat feature, the mapping and routing is excellent. the breadcrumb, backtracking is awesome so you can explore and not worry about getting lost. I Love this system. and how easy it is to use. does everything you need and more. plus you can customize the screens to show what you need and eliminate what you don't.

I agree with all negative reviews below. The connection with phone and GPS is awful. I need to reset my phone and lezyne device 3-4 times until I finally can to connect them. But if the connection was successful, it does not mean that you will be able to upload your route for navigation. An error occurs when selecting a route. Tech support writes that you will need to forget the device in the phone settings and turn it on again, but this works only once. On your next trip, you will need to do this procedure again and again.

Garbage app. Trying to get it to upload rides is an adventure every time. Sometimes no problem, but the other half of the time I have to restart head unit and phone multiple times to try and get the app to upload a ride. It's ridiculous. I would buy a different head unit/app and get a more reliable service. I have had multiple Lezynes and the syncing issues are constant. I won't be buying another one.

Horrible experience with Lezyne. I just purchased a new Mega C GPS. The connectivity between the Ally phone app and the GPS is constantly dropping. The connectivity is a huge part of the usefullness of the GPS. Without it the GPS is awful. I have done all the published remedies to no avail. Tech support is non existent. I think they know they have a terrible interface with their app and have decided to stick their heads in the sand. BUYER BEWARE!!!

pity I don't have the option for zero stars. great stand alone device but it's inability to connect via Bluetooth renders it useless. every time I use it I have to reset the phone connection and repair? That's pathetic. at this point in time a very big waste of money. updated to the latest firmware 9.37? as this was supposed to fix the issue. But nothing at all has changed. warning - DO NOT BUY until they resolve completely the bluetooth issue. it will just do your head in.

Could be so good but!!!! Ok I've had the mega XL for 8 month now and it's a great computer with amazing battery life and could be fantastic. However, The app is actually well thought out and intuitive but the Bluetooth connection is the crappiest Bluetooth I've ever had the displeasure to use. if you have the phone in your middle back pocket you can forget maintaining a connection. It is better if it's in a side pocket but does dropout on every ride. Could go on but not enough characters left!

At first, Bluetooth connectivity was reliable, but now it's useless. The pairing between the device (Super GPS y10) and my phone constantly drops out. At some point the filesystem on the GPS became corrupted and I lost some rides, but I don't know if that was the app's fault. It's a shame, because I like the device, but without the simplicity of syncing to Strava via my phone automatically, it's become tedious to use. I've also lost the call/text notifications without Bluetooth.

I have had three Lezyne GPS computers. The MegaC is awesome! This app allows you to do many things, including upload your ride via bluetooth and sync time; but also allows you to program the device (set display screens, odometer, device functionality, etc) without having to use the menus on the device. The Ally V2 app is about 99% flawless. It always picks up the GPS, and always reads my cadence sensor. It doesn't always upload my ride; however I believe that to be a function of my phone.

This app is fine when it works. Problem is it consistently fails to recognise the GPS device and you have to keep pairing it over and over. I have had two different lezyne devices (super enhanced and mega XL) and several phones and the problem has persisted with all of them. It's very annoying. Synching app and device are also very slow. The app lets down what are generally very good GPS devices.

I'm on the verge of returning my Super GPS. I bought it on the basis of it's battery life to replace a much loved Mio 205. I've never experienced anything as infuriating as just about to set off for a ride to find the unit won't pair with the phone, so I have to restart the phone or if not that the Unit comes up with an error message when trying to receive a saved route from the phone/app to navigate on. Seriously is a painful experience.

Pretty useful app, good to managing the device settings. But the navigation routing function in the UK is horrendous. It keeps suggesting I cycle on motorways... needless to say this is extremely dangerous and illegal, and renders the navigation function useless. There's a few other niggles, but not so important -If this can be fixed, it could be a 4 star review, and make the whole GPS unit much more useful

Used it for over a year with complete satisfaction. HOWEVER......the latest update has turned my device, the one I own and paid for myself, into the equivalent of no more than and in fact less than the smart phone I already own. Very, very annoyed, hoping for a new release with firmware update to fix it. NB contacted support with no solution forthcoming. Fixed it and had been stable. On a separate note when you create a route be careful to keep start and finish a little way apart.

Woeful. Started off fine but now hopeless. Despite setting my app AND head unit to stationary mode it still registers me as moving. My head unit records me as riding in one power zone while GPS Root records it as something different. Very frustrating. Wish I'd bought an alternative now. Add: Got asked to download latest update. I did but no change. I sent helpdesk the files and all the details but it looks like they've given up. So have I.

I have discovered if you have persistent connection issues the big move is to in "App info" use the "Clear Storage" - you lose settings but once you reconnect to the GPS all is well. May 2020 I have used a lot of different bike computers from many different manufacturers. I decided not to keep increasing my spend to get one that works well all the time - so, instead the cheapest with maps, fantastic battery and all modern functions led me to the MegaC with this App. No software/hardware out there without issues. Cost&battery the sell. Suits me. Finally have a setup that meets a weekend cyclist needs. (I found factory reset - a must after any hard/w update - fixes ALL issues, so far)

Very disappointed with the last update. All the "find destination" and "plan route features" no longer work at all on Ally v2. I sent an email to warranty services, only to get an automated email saying that they are "unusually busy." The entire reason i got the unit was for destination and route planning. It is currently useless.

Working well until firmware update ! No issues with Bluetooth connection, records data on head unit ok and linked to cloud with no problem until firmware update!! Since firmware update no longer links to cloud and rides are "stuck" on the head unit and won't sync. Even using cable through laptop won't work as files say the are corrupted. Getting rather frustrated as data is lost from training. If doesn't resolve then will look at wahoo options.

So update. It's awful connection issue after connection issue. Week after connecting power up again doesn't connect. Reset go to advertise again lezyne sw doesn't see my megac. Just annoying as F$%k. This is now getting very annoying. Over the last 3 months I've had to do multiple installs as per their connection troubleshoot. Again this morning won't connect to phone so much I like about the mega c but so much I don't like about it.
