LG AV REMOTE

TL;DR - it's hot garbage. Don't bother. In short it just straight up doesn't work. You try to use the controls in the app and nothing happens. I got the app to use our LG blu-ray player like the instructions said and could not have been more disappointed. It messed it up so bad that I repeatedly couldn't even get it to shut off with the app, remote or power button on the player and had to unplug the power and start over several times. No, it's not my phone. We tried others with the same results

Could be much better. The UI looks ugly and outdated. It should support a full keyboard and not limit itself to emulating the IR remote control. My phone features an IR sender, I'd appreciate if the app used it instead if requiring a network connection. The Xiaomi Remote Control app actually works as a replacement as the basic LG DVD Player controls are compatible with the BluRay IR codes. Wifi audio streaming is a great feature but flawed as the sound breaks up frequently.

This app makes life so much easier! Right out of the box as I set up the new lg Blu Ray player I was able to download this and sure enough there was a VUDU link at the bottom making life simple! The actual remote doesn't have that option so this made everything work great we depend on vudu! So far it works great it could be faster but that's probably the model not the application.

Makes me reconsider any LG smart device. My Blu-ray/DVD player doesn't always sync to this app. Between this and the fact that the DVD player freezes constantly, I am reluctant to leave anything's better than a two-star review. I do not recommend any LG smart device based on my experience with this app and my player.

The arrow menu doubles the input(one tap on phone is 2 taps on tv), i can't select the function/input directly(e.g. select Bluetooth) and I can't disable FM radio. I don't even have an antenna and it makes a horrible schreech.

Terrible app but my blueray player's remote is missing so I'm stuck with this. App esthetically looks like its not ready to be launched. It cant even turn on the player so that has to be done manually, and it takes forever to sync up with the player.

If I had a wifi network when I went to use it it would have defeated the whole objective of needing a remote app. See how can I hook up the DVD player to a wifi network minus a remote control making it impossible cause there is no multi use or guide control button on the front just a power and eject. So how do u set up the device on the app with a wifi network when you're not able to use this app to identify the device not even bluetooth or anything. Like the remote control app needs tuning

Does not even search for devices. My LHB976 is listed ad compatible but the app won't connect. The system is connected. So I run a packet sniffer on this app and sure enough... it doesn't even search my network. This app does not even try to use the internet.

Used to be a great app, this can't connect. The code portion shows on the TV but is all blank (no numbers) and the phone app doesn't even seem to see the TV. As others have commented, whatever they did to they app ruined it. It's likely in purpose so we buy a newer TV.

This app was so much better before, I had the original one on my phone but had to uninstall it because it wasn't working and tried to reinstall it but it no longer existed and this was in its place. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP IT IS TERRIBLE I REPEAT DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT!! I downloaded a universal remote and it works fantastic

Old app worked just fine with my 47LM660S, this app does not connect to it. Return the old app please. This is AV remote, not a TV remote app. The old "LG TV Remote" app was removed from Play store, w/o any replacement (that supports older TV models, see above). This is insane thing, as this makes me not really remain LG customer anymore, as this is wrong way to treat customers.

Enjoyed this app for several years but suddenly stopped working! Unable to find my TV even though it is connected. I don't know what has changed in the app, but it is definitely a change for the worse! Negative star ratings should be made available as selectable options.

Worked great when first on my phone but when I tried to get same app in a different phone it was a different version and is absolutely useless and we couldn't buy the original remote control so the app was good but not worth downloading these newer versions, was LG Bluetooth Remote version 1.1 still works great on my iPhone 4 but no others

Used to work but doesn't any more what did you guys do to the app. 55LA9650-TA 310KCTB2T561 I will no longer be buying an LG tv they removed features that I bought the TV for and now they no longer support TV on their app even though they always used to. I wouldn't be surprised if YouTube or something else becomes unsupported on my 4k LG always fiddling with the software TV. Thanks LG for removing perfect functionality with no thought for the customer.

This app seems very clunky and dated.. pretty crappy that LG wants me to download a phone app that isn't even supported any longer just to try and get Netflix, YouTube, and Pandora to work on a new blu-ray player. It was supposed to have Spotify but that icon disappeared from that app.. this is junk. Did LG have a better replacement app??

This used to be a great APP but at some point an update just ruined it completely. It used to do everything my remote did plus the magic mouse thing. Now it just keeps asking to find your TV where before it had a list.

Just bought today a brand new LG BP175 Blu-ray player. Box clearly advertises it works with the app. Connected it to our wired home network (on-screen menu shows network info including Blu-ray player's assigned IP address); connected LG G6 phone to the same home network and installed the app, as the Blu-ray player on-screen instructions direct, and, surprise! The app will not find the Blu-ray player! App is worthless. No way to troubleshoot from within the app or within the Blu-ray player menu!

Good one, but needs updating so as to access many other functions of the Home Cinema Units. Please I want to request back LG TV app which was very helpful and only works on my 47LN5708-ZA because it doesn't have access to wireless network. I changed my phone and found out that it's no longer available on play store. Thanks in anticipation for your prompt attention.

Useless app.. keeps a crashing and going to white screen. Sometimes it does work and when it does it's brilliant.. but most of the time it won't.. not worth the download..

the free version is fairly simple but easier to see and use than the remote. it lacks any helpful features and does not make typing better. it does work better than my LG streaming blu-ray player device, (i do not recommend). at least this app works, and its easy to connect and use.

Want the old one back I can't connect to the TV shows a pairing key on my TV but will not show the TV on my phone had the older one and it always worked on my phone now it don't. I'm unhappy with this app.. bring back the old app for those with older LG tvs.

Very sad. Similar TV remote was working but stopped now after changing phone. Just see code appear at bottom of TV screen and nothing happens. Emails to LG support says that tv is no more supported without any alternative app. Ridiculous asTV is just few years old and LG has abandoned us in middle of nowhere

It has been a life saver for me. Since our blue ray players don't have play buttons and we watch movies and use them for streaming hulu and Netflix also. Works perfect.

Would be nice to have more cell phones that contain an RF sensor. Very convenient to use for a universal remote, it also works with LG devices that are connected to same network.

Disappointed TV finds the app (code prompt appears on TV), app does not find the TV. The previous version was excellent. Just proves newer isn't always better.
