You're better off using a third-party app, this app does have a neat cursor control function but that is really all it has going for it. I've tried multiple devices and noticed the app constantly loses connection with the tv. This combined with the clunky controls and dated appearance caused me to seek out a third-party app.
Have to reinstall frequently. Any time someone else uses this app to control the tv, I can't use it again (it won't be recognized by the tv) until I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Other than that, works well for what I need it for. The "magic remote" that came with my tv can be nearly impossible to find sometimes! For that reason, I am grateful for this app.
Inexcusably broken. Lacks certain critical features such as the ability to use arrow keys. UX design is terrible and relies on the system back button to switch between mouse and button control screens, half of the time causing you to accidentally close the app. And the worst, most inexcusable disgrace is the keyboard. It took me almost an hour trying in frustration to input my email and password on the TV's NATIVE LG account sign in before giving up and setting the account up on my laptop.
App offered tablet mode since my screen resolution is high. During pairing, only numbers from 1-6 appear as buttons, so I couldn't pair. There's no way of accessing the menu at the beginning so had to reinstall the whole thing. Just poor design.
This app has nothing but problems. It will connect and disconnect 3 times in 10 seconds without even pushing a button. Hasnt even been updated for 3 years...You're better off using the slow tv remote, don't waste your time.
Works exceptionally as a remote for changing channels and volume, screen mirroring from my LG smart TV won't work, constantly says it doesn't support the input (from blu ray, xbox one, cable box and PC). It can even take an accurate screenshot of the picture on the tv but won't give me a live feed
For some reason I consistantly lose the remote to my old tv so this is a wonderful app to solve that issue. My biggest gripe is that there is no power button, so if I want to turn my tv on or off I have to do it physically.
Despite my note 8 and the tv being up to date, connected to the same network, and knowing the tv supports this the app only works 2 out of every ten uses. It's so useless I instinctively just get up and change the tv manually without even bothering with trying the app anymore.
great little app and works brilliantly. i can finally change volume and source when I lose the remote rather than searching round the house in a rage! thank you. Oh and its great to see a bit of old school design for the buttons too rather than the usual flat design.
Stopped work with LN570 a time ago. I don't know when exactly it happened, because I use the app very rarely, but several years ago I used it with no problems. Checked now, and it can't connect to tv. Alternatives work well.
I dont know why they wont longer update the app, I mean it is ugly but it does the work so smoothly. I would like them to keep improving it, if LG wnat tgey can create other graphics for the app. I belive that with a change to the UI it could be fixed.
It says works with all TV's 2012 and newer. My UJ 6300 55" Ultra HD Smart TVdoes not work with this app. Bought it 6 months ago at Best Buy. That model is not even listed under installed or not installed in the app.
Only works well enough to serve as a novelty. The curser is neat I guess? My question is, if you're going to write an app to control a smart tv, why the hell would you not include a qwerty keyboard???
Like I said it's ok just wish it had more. Like seeing my phone on the tv as well 4 one. More access to the tv functions needed. It's limited to really just changing the channel.
Works fine-ish. Disconnects sometimes and can take a while to connect again. The cursor is really sensitive but other than that it came in really handy when I broke my remote
the new update makes the arrows harder to access. you have to touch a very specific spot on the keypad. a little more room would be awesome.
Doesn't work well. Outdated app(last update 2015). Crashes frequently. Basically useless now without update. Don't be surprised to see an LG standard stupid and totally unhelpful response to this review! Peel smart remote works much better for most tvs including LG
App needs updating or rerouting for dowloading the rest of the remotes. I have an LW5700 series tv and can not download the updates for them since the store directs me to something non working to be able to download the rest of the remotes. only issue im having.
I loved it at first but after the first use it kept making me pair my TV and phone again and again every time I turn my TV on until it doesn't even read my TV anymore. Fix this bug and I'll give a higher review.
Don't use this app. I think it's just for an IR remote. If you have a smart TV with webOS, use the LG TV plus app instead. This app is obviously no longer maintained.
this remote is perfect. works well for my lgtv. but there is no power button. will be perfectly perfect if you guys can add the power button for good.
Have to know the specific type of TV but all of the features look pretty good I like most of the added features yet I don't know my model of TV so I can't use these features. 😢
Inconsistent on connection. The app insists on reconnecting even after switching to another app and back to this one but the handshake isn't quick if it even happens.
the app worked fine until my Samsung phone update a few months ago, now the app crashes every time I put it to sleep, I need to close it down and reopen each time I need to press a button. I've been waiting patiently for a few months, hoping there will be an app update but nothing since 2015??
It doesn't even have my model tv LH5700 I didn't think my tv was so old. It works perfectly but the real remote started messing up and though this would be a solution but nope. I excited to try it out but couldn't.
horrible and dated design, looks like it was designed for the iphone, the only part that works is the pointer... there is no keyboard and the game controller doesn't even work
Straight trash doesn't work asks you to put code from the TV on but then doesn't allow all numbers to pop up to put the number in all you see is three numbers nothing else. Don't waste your time
Not a replacement for your physical remote controller. Can't switch the TV on and off, no mute button (bit of a pain when the phone rings), doesn't work with BBC iPlayer, though this maybe a problem with the iPlayer app rather than the LG app. The screen cursor works really well and controls everything including Amazon Instant Video app. This app work over WiFi so if the TV is off it can't switch it on. Would be cool if it worked on infrared too for the very basic functions.
