LG webOS Magic Remote

So far, just enough to get what I need done: access to my apps. I have a universal remote programmed to the television that wouldn't give me access to my apps. This app would be perfect if it didn't stop working once I got into the app. I have to use the U-remote to type text into text boxes due to the app not being able to sense certain input bars.

Application is lightweight and highly customizable and the magic remote functionality works great. There are two major bugs for me, however: 1-The ok button (not the click button) does not emulate the basic controller ok button, but rather has the same function as the click button so you can't use the app with arrow navigation as the ok will always register on the cursor position; 2-App crashes when turning the TV off with the power (wi-fi) button. Turning the TV on works fine.

Highly recommended. Once your TV Mac address is connected. The remote does exactly what its designed to do. - The interface is user friendly, simple enough but can be improved. Some color would help. - It sometimes freezes switching from Main to Touch and have to close all app to restart the app. - Last upwas in Jan 2017?! 🤔 is this an abandoned project?

This app does what its intended to do. No hang ups, no issues, simply flawless. I previously had the official LG client app and then they updated the version with bugs. They took away the switch off button. Can you imagine the tragedy of not being able to switch off the TV? So I deleted it and installed this app.

I've been looking for an app to switch on my TV from stand-by mode and this app does that with excellence if the mac address is filled in properly. I have an issue about the click and OK button that doesn't work, at least not on my phone. If this could be fixed, I would rate this 5 star.

Simple and light app, just 15mb installed. Has all the functions of and even more than the original RC. It recognizes the tv by touching a button at the upper right hand side of the app as long as both the tv and the app are connected to the same wifi. You need to enter the mac address of your tv manually though if you wish to awake tv from sleeping. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because it keeps on freezing and disconnecting.

Do not bother downloading. App does not work at all. Bluetooth or wifi, not working. I have 65UM7100PLA series, so it should be working, but it's not. I put the mac address correct. I tried everything. It detects TV, but not doing anything. Avoid, or buy the real thing (remote itself). I think that is their (LG) idea after all. Why would they make a free good app, when they can sell the actual remote for 50 euros. LG TV Plus app works so much better. Download that one.

Not sure at what point it stopped working, but I've tried unsuccessfully numerous times to reconnect the app with the TV and simply can't seem to pair the device despite having the correct Mac address for the TV and other required settings such as being on the same Wi-Fi network.

Amazing app. I was thinking I had to get the physical magic remote but I'm glad i tried it first before purchasing. You will love this app it's easier than working on a actual laptop or computer. Just place your phone on a flat surface and there you go.

Great app . This app needs some small things to get better. Excellent work. Thank you. Try use the layout changer up right button if does not power on with default Wi-Fi power button and change button with IR power button and save with a name layout and in settings change main layout with new modified layer and TV will power instantly.

Got this app as my "magic wand" remote had a brain fart and refused to work. The connection keeps dropping out mid use. I couldn't sign in to an Amazon Prime account because of this. I'm going to purchase a new remote as this app is so frustrating and unreliable. Get a grip LG.

Works well as a substitute magic remote but it is a bit sensitive on my galaxy s8 so you can easily give the wrong command!.....also found it freezes occasionally which can be annoying but overall it is good...would still recommend getting the proper remote tho even for £30

this app hasn't been updated since 2917. that said, it works with my 2020 uk 48" oled lg tv and the on screen cursor can be controlled by smartphone movements as if the smartphone is the hand-based remote.

Great app but constantly having to close and open it non stop every single time I came back to it on my phone. It doesn't connect to tv. I have to close the app and open it constantly.

Great app. Works better than the Magic Remote in my opinion. Works great controlling more than one tv.5 Only thing i would like to see is the ability to turn on more than one tv.

Stopped working. Turns the TV on but does absolutely nothing else. Been using for over a year and the TV updated and this stops functioning. Please update

Doesn't find the TV to add the pairing but requires you add the Mac address manually. Plus once we did that it only worked to turn the TV on and nothing else.

Constantly lags and freezes requiring the app to be closed and reopened, which then requires me to reconnect and it's not guaranteed to discover my tv again.... Should have bought a Samsung

Often loses connection with the tv and we have to restart the app. The wifi is working fine but still the problem arises everytime.

This app has bailed me out. I didnt know it existed. our remote broke and thought I was going to have to wait a whole week on a new one. really love the touch pad option. thanks for creating this.

Great System for being Android. It's LG Smart TV Web Browser. Don't do things as much as the Android Phones, that change your System Settings without your permission.

Nice creation, but i don't know why app crashes when powering off tv please solve this bug, now it is crashing every time after some time

working fine, need few more options like available in actual remote. sensitivity has issue, yes you can reduce or increase but remote works better. overall improvement scope is much, but still solve ur current issue

it is hanging everytime we close and reopen the app. also power on is not working, i did all the settings like mobile on from tv and adding mac address of tv

Using LG G3 Android 6. App works well except text input doesnt work at all. When text input field is open on the LG 55LB650V WebOS TV the app sais " text can't be sent because no input field is active on TV". disappointing because this function would be the single most useful function of this app.

Fantastic app, don't have an actual magic remote, this app just connected via WiFi and worked like a real magic remote. Saved me £30 for a new remote.

Works fast and reliably. So much better than others I've tried. Keyboard with microphone really appreciated.
