There is definitely room for improvement BUT this is my most favorite app ever! You can access your LibraryThing account through your computer and that is very helpful for certain aspects. I find there is certain functionality available through the computer that isn't present through the app. For example, I have cookbooks that aren't cataloged anywhere as they do not have ISBNs. I can create a record for these books but have to do it on the computer. Overall, fantastic app!

Great app, super in-depth, but it NEEDS a mass-edit function. There's no reason why I can't long press on a title and select multiple things to assign labels to more than one thing at a time. The other big complaint I have is that the barcode scanner either works or it doesn't with no in between, and if you're mass-scanning items into your catalog you should be prepared to exit the scanner and restart it because it'll stop focusing after awhile.

It's decent as an access tool for an existing online LibraryThing account, but the app is horribly limited when it comes to adding new books. Even in the edit window, which really only ports you over to the website, some of the features don't respond to clicks. Until some more functionality is added, I can't give it more than 3 stars. (The website and the service it provides however, is a solid 5 star.)

Definitely looks dated. Very helpful to search for/look at/scan books to your library and change tags and rating. A pain to edit everything else, including dates read. Everything else opens the book information in the web version of Library thing which is difficult to use/read on a mobile device. Could really use an overhaul. I'd be able to tolerate the clunkiness if dates read could be edited as easy as the tags, though.

No way to manually add books. Many times i searched for a book with zero results, or results not matching my book. Then I have to go on my PC to use the website. Surprise, first search result found my book. So why isn't the app finding the same results? I have to constantly go back and forth from app to PC website, which defeats the point of the app I feel. although, when the barcode scanner works, that's handy! When it finds my books... same situation. Sometimes if i scan, nothing.

Doesn't pick up even half of my books by either scanning or manually entering the isbn. On top of that, about a quarter that it actually picks up, it shows the correct cover in search results but the wrong cover in the collection page. Not a very polished app. Thanks for the try but I'll keep looking for a better one.

This is an okay app, But it can be so much more. I have a lot of suggestions on what can be improved. But I'll go with 3 main points. 1. No manual input for ISBN code. 2. Pictures are too small, when it searches you can barely see what it's got. 3. It automatically inputs what it found whether it's right or wrong. This is just to name a few problems there are others.

Spent a few hours researching the best way for my wife and I to catalog our growing book collection and trying several different apps. Surprised by the average reviews that this app received. Easy to scan, catalog, tag, and sort. Syncable data between the two of us. This will be the app we will be using. Works great for us!

I do not understand the negative reviews. Yes, the app interface is a bit dated and so is the LibraryThing web, but it does everything. Of all the web sites I have used this one is the best at importing my 350 book csv file, which was exported from Bookshelf (which does offer a web version. It imported everything, though I had spend a few hours getting book covers or manually adding author names or getting ISBNs. All other web based sites would not import without extensive file editing of the csv and even then only accepted a few books. This happened with Goodreads and Libib. Once I finished cleaning up my books in LibraryThing web it has been great and easily synced with the app. Highly recommended!

Very useless app overall. It's a mobile website with no functionality. This app is only useful for scanning barcodes. You won't be able to sort your collection by tags, author, or anything else because that function is broken and they don't care to fix it. More of a cult, than an app. I regret going all in because transferring to a new service is near impossible because no other book/collection app/website cares to integrate with them. As one told me - sorry, too much bad code over there.

Very useful app. I found that you can add tags, notes, etc. through the app. After you add a book, leave the app so it updates website. Then open app, search book, tap it, see the edit button bottom right, tap it. Takes you to website. Pinch the page to enlarge and your able to type in any given space a comment, add a tag, etc. Them tap save button on top or bottom of page ( it's green). I do it this way because I don't a computer to view website. Works well for me 🙂

It's a bit difficult to manage the books, but essential access to your library is available. Can have some improvements toward user-friendliness and more modern UI.

This app could be "SO" much more! Yes it's a great way to catalogue your book collection but I cannot find loads of books in my collection despite them having valid ISBN codes. But there appears to be no way to mark the book when you have read it, create sub catalogues or make readers notes on the book. Then there is the appalling scanning noise that scares the heck out of my daughter every time I scan a book. Disappointing.

Lackluster app. When I learned about LibraryThing, I was excited to be able to catalog and manage my book collection from an app. Pros: the app lets you scan ISBN codes to quickly add books to your collection. You can sort your books into different preset categories. That's it Cons: most customization actions are only available through the website (which is clunky on a small device). Lending info, date acquired, book review, dates read can ONLY be edited through the website. Not worth the app

This app is just a scanner with LibraryThing integration, that's it. At scanning, it is great. And you can view your catalogue, and organize it. It's good at what it does, but it does very little!

Use with library thing website, which I find easier to use to manage my library. But I use the app to scan the ISBN number and add books to my library. (It can't scan mass market paperbacks for some reason). Sort your books into collections and subdivide with tags. There are also optional social features interacting with people who read similar books. App also helpful at a used bookstore to check which books from a series you still need. Way better than my previous Excel spreadsheet library

super easy to use to keep organized, but I wish there was a way to make my own 'collection' so I have a spot for like manga, research, comics, fantasy, etc. so I can sort my collections.

Much more difficult to use than comparable apps, less organised and (I know this seems petty) but it has an awful, loud scanning sound that I couldn't work out how to turn off. Given that I was going to use the app to scan all my books this was a deal-breaker, I couldn't take that noise going off over my Podcast repeatedly 😱

This is a great app except it missing a key component. The ability to quickly lend out books from your device. And then to view what's been lent out and easily return the books. Please please consider adding these components to this app.

I was looking for an alternative to Goodreads, and while the underlying functionality here is fine, as an app it's just not adequate. Ancient design, clunky user interface, on the whole an app that really needs some professional attention.

Confusing Interface. Adding a book seems impossibly difficult. Changing Collection I've not been able to figure out. What should be a simple app is made awful due to a poor interface. I do love the ability to scan a books barcode though.

Be aware that this app sneakily opens your browser to display random adverts. It is one thing to display adverts as a banner within an app itself, but quite wrong to interfere and open other apps without the user's knowledge. If it wasn't for this, I would give the app 4 stars.

The website is very useful and robust but this app is very limited. Can't view in landscape mode on phone or tablet and the info displayed is very limited. It's best use is probably to check whether you own a book when at a bookstore.

It looks outdated. I'm returning after a long absence (several years) on my lifetime account. Many things have changed here, I have another collection of books, I don't feel like deleting my 200+ previously entered books, one by one. I don't feel the app is useful for anything at this point.

Although it feels up to date, it is fast and easy to use when updating and cataloging your library/collection. If you happen to lend your books out, you can also set up a library lending system for free with TinyCat as well that uses the books you scan using this app.

What an amazing app! For years I have tried to get my home library organized. This app gets the job done. Quick and easy scan with the phone app and minor editing with the web portal for some old books there is no record online.

Excellent app, just needs the ability to add new library categories (movies, music, etc.) I'd like to browse one media type at a time, not books and movies mixed together.

The mobile app does NOT allow you to add to Collections despite you editing that fact in the book. It's too difficult to use. Wanted to alternate with the PC version but frankly you have made the effort to make it mobile friendly. Do better.
