Only problem: It finds books and shows all info on screen, as long as your browser (which is auto-opened by the app) is NOT on TheLibraryThing webpage. Now (and this is very frustrating), with all the book's information with cover and everything on your screen, if you tap on "Add to my library", you are taken to a blank page, instead to the log-in page, and from there to your library with the new book already added. If you ARE on TLT webpage, it just goes to "search", which doesn't even work well.
Maybe it's user error but "bulk scan mode" doesn't work. Another reviewer praised the app for allowing him to login a book a minute: scan, webpage, search, add, back to app. That's a few hours for anyone with a large collection; I realize it'll take time no matter what, but I would rather be able to quicky scan all the books and then later use the universal importer.
Causes the focus on my camera to go insane, and does not read bar codes, whereas barcodescanner works fine on the same codes, used multiplebook totest
It does what I need it to do, in that it finds the DDS number by scanning the barcode. Unfortunately the process requires so many steps and the Library Thing website is so mobiles unfriendly that it's practically unusable as a tool for organising books.
Took forever to enter just 3 books into my library. Brought my phone to a virtual stop while doing it. Could have entered 10 books manually by ISBN in the same time. Can't recommend.
Good idea, I've been looking for a app like this, but the interface needs work to be useful. Doesn't log in, automatically execute or return to app
Scanner works well, but the website interface is hard to use on the phone. Not good for multiple books.
Now it does not open the right page to add the book you just scanned. Has issues. G2
I'm quite surprised to see so many reviews that claim typing in ISBN numbers would be faster. On my Samsung Galaxy 6 using my home WiFi, the app speeds through 7-10 books a minute. Once I got in a groove, my entire library was entered in one sitting.
I'd love this to work, so will keep it installed, hoping it becomes less clunky. ATM quite poor, tho
Works very well for new books, and okay for old ones. A great time-saver.
More than half the books I scanned didn't show up in the search. Not obscure books, either...it didn't recognize one of the Harry Potter books.
I've had a librarything account for years but never catalogued all my books because it was too cumbersome. This makes it much easier. Works fine with my phone.
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Read the instructions! Provides a simple interface to the Librarything web UI. Saved me a lot of time and effort.
This app is kind of useless--the scanner almost never focuses on the barcode (unlike the barcode scanner built into Goodreads). When it does scan, the app isn't well integrated with Librarything anyway.
having to enter in your password for your account all the time is annoying I uninstalled it...
Obviously this app is only useful for one thing, but it does that very well.
I just used this application to add a few books to my library and it worked exactly as advertised.
Doesn't seem to work on older books, but so far none if the other bar code readers I've tried do either. Works great on newer books.
Scans barcodes incorrectly when barcode scanner scan perfectly. Motorola Droid 2 Global
Isn't integrated to library thing and takes too much time to add books
Works well, but it's faster to open LT web page myself & type ISBN. Definitely useless for scanning multiple books. DROID2
I was able to catalog well over 100 books in just a few hours.
This app in combination with my scanner and browser let me enter roughly a book a minute (take book from shelf, scan code, search, select, replace book). Only downside is the power consumption. Phone charge was 70% when I started an 12% when I finished 90 minutes later. But that's not really the app's fault since it's just being a go-between the camera/scanner and browser.
I've used other scanners with LT over the years and this is the easiest by far. I love it.
Is it just me, or this so doesn't work with Nexus 5 and lay Android version? I press "Scan" and nothing happens.
I just started using this with my smartphone to efficiently enter titles. Even if the barcode doesn't scan properly I can still key in the ISBN. I really appreciate being able to get the basics entered while being AWAY FROM the desktop computer.
