I'm not surprised at the overall low rating for this app. I recently bought 4 libratone Zipp speakers. The app allowed me to set up two of them. And that's it. Then the app broke. It only allows me to access the "Soundspace" screen upon booting. I used to be able to see music options like radio stations and Spotify. That functionality is simply gone. It also won't let me set up the next two speakers. Despite following all the instructions, removing and reloading the app, hard resetting the speakers and saying multiple prayers, the app simply won't recognize the other two speakers. It's incredibly frustrating, other people have mentioned it in the Libratone forums, and still there is no response. Truly frustrating.
The redesign of the app is terrible and looks more like a beta. What was wrong with the old design? The new design looks cheap. Misplaced text and font. Background in the app looks like being on an online fashion store. If I buy a product I want a product and not something that looks and feels like an advertisement for a product. No fun to use anymore. Reading about the issues with the soundspaces I am now considering not buying further speakers and use the Zipp for outdoor. Should have gone for Sonos or Bose 😭
The speakers are great. This app does not remember the setup nor does it consistently work. If you want to connect two speakers in the app you have to set it up each time. It doesn't remember the setup. So, app needs work, I'm bummed about this not working as it's the reason I wanted them. But whatever, they are terrific speakers with great sound and I believe the app will likely improve.
I love the app, but would like two features that would easily make this 5 stars! -a slightly louder ambient mode/pass through mode would be perfect, it is still sometimes hard to hear when having conversation -a way to force 44.1 khz sample rate (Android currently doesn't save the preferred Bluetooth sample rate, so I have to set the option everytime I connect) Over all, I love the product and this would make it perfect. Please consider my input. Kind Regards, Angel
What I like about the app are the controls for the various noise cancellation modes and levels. That being said, I would like to see more EQ settings behind added in the coming updates. Right now it feels a little bare with just 3 options. Hope to see improvements over the next few months :)
This app (and linking of the speakers) has always been temperamental but great when it worked. But the radio feature has just been replaced with a useless browser link to the various headphones on sale. Getting through to my favourites radio stations now involved multiple clicks and unlinking the speakers. Might as well go back to Bluetooth and normal speakers. Please revert!
Recent update borked everything. Zipp kept disconnecting from WiFi, had to keep adding the speaker every time I switched the unit off, wouldn't play music, wouldn't show zipp on any of 4 android devices after independent installation. In the end I uninstalled current version and reverted back to version 3.1.X and all works perfectly. Auto updates are disabled indefinitely. If there was an alternative app I would use one, but unfortunately there isn't so I'll stick with the backdated version.
Libratone team, Is there a possibility to release software update to control the low/mid-range/high frequencies independently based on individual taste instead of pre baked options? I am liking the App so far, haven't seen the issues which others have mentioned and overall Spotify connect is working fine for me. Initial Setup has some issues. It took my Zipp at least 4 tries before it got added to my account. Minus one star for that. Would love to see native support for Google Music/YT Music
piece of garbage - as asked i am elaborating more: the add to my collection does not work. I have looked at the only manual and could not find more information. considering how much the hardware costs, i would expect to be using it at full without spending time trying to make it work. even if i am missing something, that should something should be clearly spelled out in the manual. if u tell me i I could use the Bluetooth, well then i could have bought also a much cheaper alternative.
Not sure why I need to create an account just so I can use a pair of headphones. Tired of all apps that require registration for no reason at all. If you need to communicate, use app notifications.
Still unreliable and sometimes unusable.. When you open the Android app there's a good chance you'll have difficulty reestablishing the connection with your Zipp device, and need to switch the device off and on again and/or force stop and restart the Libratone app. Favourites frequently don't appear. When working functionality is ok though it needs an equaliser for both Android and Apple versions.
First ever review from me. I bought two Zipps to use them linked together. For this, you need to use the app, there is no other way. But the app is truly horrible to use. Nine out of ten times it does not recognize one or both speakers, therefore I'm not aple to use the speakers as Wifi-Speakers or to link them. Reinstalling the app, restart the phone, factory reset the speakers and all the other shenanigans do not fix the problem. On top, the support is understaffed and does not respond.
AVOID! Does not work. Never did really but unfortunately is needed to reach the settings. "Could not connect to product" message the most common I see. I can reach all 3 speakers with a browser typing in the IP, I can play music with AirPlay, but the app cannot connect to my Libratone Live and Diva and cannot detect my Zipp at all. For the Live only Purple and Black colours can be saved when the app works. Go for a Sonos, at least it works properly, for this amount of money this is a joke.
Pretty basic app. Not on par with the Zipp 2's claim to be state of the art. If they could just fix one thing it would be to enable the app to turn the speaker on and off. Even my Logitech Boom at one third the price can do this. This would make the app at least worthwhile installing.
What a very bad update! Now when you use the app to launch a radio station on a zipp, every time you click away within the app or out of the app, the radio turns off! Terrible testing and QA before releasing to the public. 3 months later, still the worst app on my phone, so disappointing. I now cannot recommend Libratone products to friends and the public.
Like others have said, the app kept saying i wasn't connected through wifi or Bluetooth even though my phone was registering my speaker, even playing the sound from my phone. But i couldn't control anything through the app which was frustrating because i would like to make some changes to the speakers presets.
Why do you force ask to turn on Bluetooth EVERY time the app opens? Other apps and services try to make usage as easy and comfortable and quick as possible. Why don't you add a check box "don't show warning again"? Also, why do the speakers always fall to patchy connection before they need an update? This is so annoying.
The App used to be ok but now it barely connects. I cannot get my Tablet to find the speaker on Bluetooth most of the time and the rare occasion it does it says speaker rejects the pairing so it doesn't work. However my bigger problem is it won't turn on or off properly using the button (when it used to work fine) and worst of all the touchpad DOES NOT RESPOND AT ALL NOW. All of these things render the speaker completely useless!!! I've sent an email requesting help and had Zero response!
