LibreLinkUp

LibreLinkUp is a free mobile app that enables you to receive glucose readings from family and friends whenever they scan their FreeStyle Libre sensor with their Freestyle LibreLink app. Every scan is automatically sent to the LibreLinkUp app on your mobile phone as a notification. You can remotely monitor glucose readings and trends, stay connected and help loved ones better manage their diabetes.

It was working fine until the last update in March 2022. Now the alarms are silent notifications instead of audible alarms. I have contacted support in the UK but haven't yet received a response. Support is non existent for this app. However if alarms don't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. It worked for me

Though I am thankful to be able to link to my son's devicce in some way, the alarms and settings in this app are not consistent or dependable- little autonomy over alarm options. It could be so much better. If my son mutes alarms, it mutes mine too which is extremely frustrating. My alarm did not sound during lows in the night, his alarm across the house actually woke me. VERY few options for reports. This coming from a parent trying to help a child. Disapponted.

The app should alert you when it's been more than 8 hours without scanning. Also, there should be a way to get an audio alert for an urgent low while the phone is on silent (particularly useful while sleeping at night)

I used to love this app but since the 8th March update I no longer get alarms for high/low glucose I get a notification but not the alarms which are needed at night time as my son sleeps through absolutely everything! I don't hear the notifications when I'm asleep which is causing great havoc with his bloods! I'm having to set alarms to wake me up to check on him which defeats the object of having the libre 2!

26/3/22 Have been using for one month. Everything was great at first but recently my childs readings have been taking up to 20 minutes to be received by my app. Not happy about this. 24/5/22 Updating my review. Am considering not using the freestyle for my daughter any more and am looking into more reliable devices as I have, as of today not received a single notification on my app in 5 days. As a medical device this is good when it works. Waiting on customer services to get back on this matter

App used to work fine, but has stopped working recently and I no longer get updates sent, let alone alarms. Disappointing as it's so crucial as a parent of a T1D to have the info.

Low sugar alarm no longer works you can only select little text notification beeps which can easily be missed. Previously there was a non stop shrill alarm. What a joke - this is the whole points of having the thing.

Unreliable. The alarms aren't working (libre 2) although we've checked everything is set properly. Daughter had a hypo in her sleep last night and another today and none of us including herself were alerted.

Works pretty well. One feature I wish it had is to notify me when a sensor is about to end, so I can make sure my son gets a new one ready to go.

Garbage app, will not connect with sensor, emailed twice for help, no response yet. Pure garbage!

Not a lot to this. Provides alerts, but no graphs or charts. Extremely basic information only.

Worked great for about 1 week. Now I don't get my wife's readings. Seems like the automated response is we will need more information. Doesn't really help those that need the readings.

The app has been a great help! Couldnt live without it as a mother of a diabetic. But since last update (20.4.2022) by Samsung, the notification sounds from the app changed to something that is not my notification and can't really hear it. App doesn't let you choose the sound yourself, neither does phone settings, so I dont know where is it taking these new very short beeps.

Since last update I only seem to get notifications for the alarms which isn't very helpful since my child sleeps through theirs..not impressed at all

App stops working from time to time. Can't wait to change to dexcom.

Works partially. We've had major issues with the alarms. There are three alarms; 1) 'Low glucose' works as expected. 2) 'Loss of signal' works, but will also will set off the alarm even if the phone is next to the sensor. This results in one turning off the alarms so one can get some sleep(!), rendering the alarm useless. 3) 'High glucose' works, but will set off the alarm even when the alarm is set to off. What is more, it will set off the alarms on all the linked 'Librelinkup' aps on connected devices, resulting in the ENTIRE FAMILY being alerted (both iOS and Android). The only way around this is to use the Android system 'app info/notifications' to silence the alarms. Customer support is good in that there is a phone number to call, but useless in that they aren't interested at all in creating bug reports. All they will do is talk you through configuring the app correctly. In our case, having sent screenshots and several conversations, and confirmation that it was all set up correctly, we were told to reinstall the app (again) and if that fails, log a fault ourselves. Additionally, if you reinstall the app, all the data generated so far will be lost from the device and only accessible on the libreview website. Finally, we have found that unless the scanning device has excellent wifi coverage at the moment when the scan is done, it can take days for it to share that data with the connected devices. All in all, the software is rather buggy, and customer support, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, assume that the problem is user error rather than an actual bug. However, it is working for Low glucose alarms, and so not completely useless.

Can you set an alarm to sound, only at night? And also, can you change the sound??

Gre. H. Dec 16, 2021

Unreliable. Since we rely on this app for notifications on high/low blood sugars for others, it only works half the time. Actual glucose readings come through almost immediately, but the high/low alerts only come through sometimes. Literally just had my partner's phone trigger the low glucose alert, but no notified on my phone.

My new sensor, 1 day old, doesn't work after attempting to use this program.

after update 2022 Apr 8. me and my wife stopped receiving low and high alarms from our son's smartphone. missed alams leads to 3.5 hours untreated low.

I'm very pleased to be able to see my son's glucose readings. But on his phone he makes notes about the carbs he's consuming, how he feels and what insulin he's injected. I can't see any of that! Also, he gets the data in a nice graph. I just get a list of numbers. The app is great, but I need to see everything and I'd like to be able to see all those numbers in a more friendly and easy to consume way (a graph!).
