Love it! I really miss clean UI and open-source apps that replace the common apps like Gmail, Calendar, Contacts and Phone. Luckily this app is a perfect replacement for Gmail. Signal and Firefox already replaced their respective apps. It would be super cool if you developed more apps like this with this consistent UI. I donated $50. Hope the Librem 5 will be cool, but having open-source alternatives on Android would also go a long way. Especially if they have a consistent look and feel.
So they've responded to feedback on their github and here about the UI and upgraded it. It's a lot better now and I can see myself using it. It is still buggy though. Font sizes for unread mail bugs out a bit, but the background color changing works fine. Should be using same logic. PGP key can only be used once per mail account? I made 1 key for 2 accounts but it will only allow me to use it with one account. Previous version didn't do that. Much better more usable. My main email client
Works very well and provides all functionality you would expect. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the desktop-style menu you get when pressing and holding on an email. By modern standards this should select the email
It works but so does K-9. The dark/black themes menu items text is still black instead of white which makes it hard to read. Also it's not quite explained how the end to end encryption actually functions.
24June2021: I made a Librem Mail account with my PC & the Librem site got stuck on a page that says, Registration is pending wait 2 minutes before refreshing this page. Emailed support. 1st reply, there's no problem. 2nd email a week later sent a screenshot of what I see after sign-in & was told it's being fixed, same reply after 3rd email many weeks later. Still not fixed after 2 MONTHS! Deleted Librem Mail from my password manager & will NEVER use anything from Librem or Purism SPC again.
Sadly crashes a lot of times for different reasons. Today, Nov 11 2020, update is old at February 2020 = nine months without improvements!!! That's so bad! Please, Purism, could works on it? Thank you
K9 with a nice update to the UI. Still compatible with openkeychain and PGP. Would like to see more modernizing updates in the future, like the ability to swipe to archive messages!
It works well but when you go to search for something that is a bit old you cannot find it all I would love to see this get fixed because it can become very vexing in certain situations.
when it is working, it is waaaaaay faster and cleaner than gmail. but it is currently randomly crashing for me, even in the background.
Please enable us to swipe from left to right!!! I don't want to press the button on the top left. Enable encryption on default
Crashes every once in a while, but this app along with Librem Mail is great!!!
Very functional. It would be great to see some material design updates in the future.
Instant crash after I imported K9 Mail's settings. Useless.
Nice. It's a K9-Mail rebranding so it works very good 👌 Integrates perfectly with Librem One
Needs a major UI overhaul and some quality of life fixes
very limited app. use BlueMail with Librem Mail, much better app
Most likely this is the best e-mail client available for Android platform.
all services do not work well only the Tunnel
It will appear with following message even after registration many days (more than a week) later. User profile Your registration is pending, please wait two minutes before refreshing this page.
Nice app from the team well known in Linux world. It deserves more then ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
literally rebranded k9 - not impressed
Yet another pointless fork of K9 Email.
Functional
Paying customer, but not impressed at this point. Old and dated look and feel, seems to be buggy. Was attempting to respond to a support email from Purism, but app crashes? Will give it some time, but dissatisfied with what I've seen so far. Hoping for improvements to catch up with competitors in this space. UPDATE: App crashes only with email that has special characters. Lots of opportunity for improvement though still.
