This app and content are amazing! When the app is playing in the background it only pauses the audio if another app is actually playing a sound and not something like a muted video and resumes much quicker when the audio ends. I don't know how you did it but I wish all other apps would work the same way. I'm impressed!

App stops playing randomly, have to keep closing the app and reopening to continue listening to an audio book, but half the time the place is lost and I have to skip ahead to find where I was then 5 minutes later it stops and does it all over again. The ad version never did this, wish I never bought the paid version.

It's pretty good. Two things could be improved: 1. App frequently resets to the beginning of the chapter. 2. I wish there was a way to change the speed of the playback. One main reason I purchased the app was hoping it would have speed adjustment feature. Volunteers have great variation in their reading speed & some are excruciatingly slow! Also Everytime I get a text message, when it resumes the playback pauses every few seconds until I press play on the app again. So annoying!

I really like the app and the selection of material.. some genuinely excellent readings! As others have mentioned, the app pauses between chapters, ignoring timer settings. I haven't found a way around it, and It is annoying. In my case, I've discovered that merely touching the fingerprint sensor lightly, will cause recoding to immediately continue. However, no other similar app has this flaw.

LibriVox Audio Books *Supporter* is the only one of the two versions of this app that supports Google Cast correctly for me. Most of functionality is pretty intuitive to use, but the playback options are definitely primitive, and the default screen doesn't reliability reflect what you last played, perhaps because the app doesn't request any permissions. LibriVox, as a service in general, is wonderful. Volunteer readers will always be hit and miss, but it's better than nothing.

Great app! I have the paid version because I love their work. That said, there are a few things that, if changed, could make this app anazing. Variable speed play speed, more accurate controls (possibly a pop-up window to manually enter the time code for what you're looking for?), and better search function.

I paid for this app twice. You can buy it as an in-app purchase on the ad-supported version, but it doesn't add to your family library. This one on Google Play does. Although annoyed, I think it was worth it to support this free audiobook community. You can find great classic titles that are often overlooked by pro readers because they won't appeal to the masses. Check out for example great performances of Orlando Furioso and Clausewitz's On War.

The good news is it downloads and plays public domain audiobooks and supports Android Auto. The bad news is the app is not good. You can't skip forward or backward in AA (just skip chapters), the app occasionally pauses itself between chapters and after notification ducking, and the main page and audiobook browsing is barely functional. There are some fantasticly read classic works of literature, though they're mixed in with versions that are truly not listenable. READ REVIEWS.

The utility of the app is great for audio book listening! There are many free books to choose from. If you want to purchase a popular book the search function works well. Unbelievable that it costs so little. It is worth your time to screen the readers, but there are several excellent readers.

I have to say for the most part I really enjoy the app. My only real problem with this app is more often than not when it reaches the end of the chapter playback will stop and I'll have to take out my phone or tablet and press play. It gets extremely annoying at work when my hands are dirty or I'm just busy working. Other than that there is a great selection of free books and many many more to purchase.

App stops frequently while playing. Have to reopen the app again to continue. This needs to be fixed. As someone else also mentioned, this was not a problem in the unpaid version. I would have given it 5 stars, but this is a huge frustration and worth docking two stars.

This is such a fantastic app, it's well worth paying the few quid to get the ad free version. I have been using this app to help me fall asleep for about 8 years now. There is a fabulous variety of books, and a wealth of different readers. You can even read a book yourself, should you so desire. As long as it's public domain, Librivox has it. Just wonderful. I wouldn't be without it

I'm getting the hang of the recent redesign, still some minor niggles but no show stoppers. What I would like though is the ability to sync searches and selections made online using the pc with the contents of the app, and vice versa.

It worked fine before but now it seems I cant download the audiobooks. It's seen as downloading and completed download, however, I do not see it in my internal storage nor in my sd card in that biz.bookdesign.librivox.pro and then data and then podcast folder .. creators/developer please reply? All the friends I have who got this cause I told them it's an awesome app are all thinking of deleting it cause of the fact they can no longer find the downloads in the usual folder. What's up?

Free audiobooks/ebooks, spectacular readers, and many all-time classic titles. I don't write reviews unless I am impressed so not only did I write a 5 star review, but I paid the supporters fee because LibriVox is providing an app/library for a new digital generation that is worth supporting. Keep up the great work!

I've used this app for years. I paid for the ad-free experience and I'm grateful for that. I have consumed so many classical works that I otherwise never had time for. Most of the narration is done very well and you can tell that the volunteers are passionate about it.

I am giving this 5 for all the old time radio shows there is a great selection. The book readers do vary but there are some good books and readers so well worth having.

If you anticipate listening to a lot of audiobooks, then I highly recommend dropping $1.99 for the add-free version. Best decision I've made in a long time. The adds are awfully loud and annoyingly repetitive.

Please add a option to sync bookmarks between devices cross platform. I have your app installed on my iPhone and android phone. If I am listening to a book on one phone it would be great to be able to continue the book on another phone. It would be a great feature. Thank you.

Liked the older version much better. It's such a hassle to find the contents list for books and you can no longer download individual chapters, which is a deal breaker. 👎👎👎 Think I'll ditch this and download stuff I really want without being forced to download tons of chapters/stories that I don't want from the librivox site from now on.
