The app tracker is completely useless. We ordered from a restaurant, and the order went through without a problem. I received confirmation that the order was placed, and the app tracker was showing that the order would arrive at any moment. But it never did. When we called the restaurant they said that the bike was broken and that they did not confirm the order at all!!! I was also not able to leave a rating on the restaurant because the order disappeared. Just completely useless.
Not bad but could be better. But compared to another food delivery app that I use, I think the most important thing this app is missing are pics of the food to get an idea of what you are ordering and a more detailed description of the ingredients. Also, some restaurants have a little description in German and some in English. Would be great if it would show the description based on your app language settings. After all there are lots of expats here that don't speak German.
Absolutely poor customer service. There is only one contact option via email, which is answered in 2 days at the earliest. The last 3 vouchers were not redeemed and there was also no refund. The delivery services are exploited just like the customers, only Takeaway makes money. The app and UI on the site are also outdated and not working properly. It's similar to Amazon, you only use it because there is currently no decent alternative. SCAM
Time estimates are WAY off. No way to contact customer "service" in real time. One guy claimed to have attempted delivery when I was outside my hotel waiting for him. Store refused to redeliver. Now I'm waiting for another DELAYED delivery from another site. Absolutely can NOT recommend. Call a taxi and go out.
App works well for delivery but there are several issues. Sometimes the food isn't delivered in the time stated. I had 2 orders that were over 1 hour later. When selecting another language the menu isn't translated.
Since recently I haven't been able to order anything with card. I put in the correct info and it just says it took too long and to see if I got a confirmation email. Other then that I've had a good experience with ordering food. Once I'm able to order 5 stars will be no question for this app.
Update - today the app has shown a non descriptive error "something went wrong. Try again" instead of order confirmation. I tried. 5 seconds later it sent 2 orders with same content, charged twice as well. I do hope the restaurant will manage the cancellation properly, there is no way to do it in the app. I'll not be using the app anymore.
THE WORST APP EVER! I don't know if it was the app or the Lieferando's bad service itself, but they STEAL MONEY! They charged me the DOUBLE AND TWICE! In total, it was 50€ they stealed from my credit card, and so far they haven't been capable to refund the money.
Worst app i have ever used to get food. I only use it because my company give us vouchers but is plainly slow, loses your voucher, food arrives always late and cold. I rather get hit by a train than having to use this app more than once a month.
Nice options, but the annoying part that the vouchers get expired if the payment method changes and when reordering and adding more items the basket symbol is not visible it is simply annoying and a waste of time whivmch leeds to confusion or leave the app and order elsewhere. If solved potential is there for 5*
Delivery times are by default way longer than the suggested average. Why is it so difficult to communicate the correct aproximate waiting time at any given moment, based on the current queue in each restaurant? You already have that data! Or, if this is not possible, you should enable order cancellations within first X minutes. Also, with restaurant chains it's not clearly communicated in the app which restaurant is nearest to me. This is important factor in choosing the fastest delivery too.
Very poor UX and UI, and it's been like this for years without improvement. Now that Uber Eats are extending their offer in my area, I'll switch asap, because service is also poor (no possibility to edit an invoice taking into account the delivery while all competitors are doing it, seriously?!).
I reviewed this app yesterday and got reply that developer answered. I don't see this answer, so giving 2 stars again. I changed my Google data and lieferando changed it as well without notifying me. Courier with food couldn't find my flat. Lieferando could add option to contact customer when courier arrives.
A certain part of my adress description gets deleted after I've ordered my meal with this app (this never happens when ordering from the website). This has been happening for a year now and is extremely frustrating.
Edit: Their answer was nice, but my review was deleted once?? What is going on! Extraordinarily rude customer treatment. Restaurant can't cancel or edit orders and refers you to Lieferando customer service. When you call them as a customer the automated system just hangs up!!! I just wanted to change an order?!
Poor customer service, takes 2 days to reply. And there is no way to cancel the order at all. Only restaurant can cancel but customers cannot. Most problematic thing is they show delivery times as 30 minutes when ordering and once order is places they show 70 minutes. And ofcourse there is the terrible UI, i have been using it for more than a year and had hopes they'll get better. I have friends who have restaurant who use Lieferando, but now they are switching to wolt and Uber eats.
Worst food ordering application I have come across. The only reason for their survival is that they have no competition. Apparently this application has a point system and once you have collected number of points after ordering food you get the vouched of 3 Euros, Gosh it is the worst way to cheat people. Twice I have claimed that voucher but not able to use because of the bugs in the application and payment gateway. You can write them several emails they don't care to reply.
Terrible UX. I have been using it for years and it did not improve a bit. I get stressed every time I have to use the app, so most of the time I just go with competitors. I can't understand why someone is not doing anything to improve this, as you are losing your customers because of this. Extra star for okay-ish service and selection.
From all the times I used, only once the order actually arrived on time. The app provides no way of checking how's your order, so if it's one hour late you must just keep waiting and hoping that some day your order will arrive.
The app never saves my favorite restaurants. I either have to login to the website from a PC to access my favorites or search for them every single time I order from the app!
Very bad app, only good if you speak German, there's no option for a translator to work so you don't know what your ordering, awful
The App makes a very bad job in estimating delivery time: delivery was estimated in 25-30 min and after payment, the restaurant plan the delivery for 90 min later!! In such cases, one wants cancel the order but does not appear to be pissible
I once ordered for a friend. Apperently I once put his phone number in a form. Now there is no option to put in my phone number instead. A restaurant called the friend instead of me. They didnt deliver the food because they got my friends name, but again there is no option anywhere to put my name. I searched the whole app. Now that I know that there is no way for the restaurants to deliver to my adress with MY name and MY number, I will not use this app again.
One of the worst apps I use. Forgets stuff randomly and only a restart & reselection helps. Usability is really bad. Maybe another UX designer or 10 can help here? /s
I was ordering via Lieferando a few times because I can get cashback and once in a while a voucher. But since they now add 1 extra Euro for delivery (although the place where I order delivers anyway), I doubt I will order again. Why pay 10,90 if I can get it for 9€ directly from the restaurant AND delivered? Google Pay also didn't work, although it's an option.
App is frankly terrible and does not evolve. The food tracker is always wrong, indicating "out for delivery: 0 minutes" sometimes for up to an hour. Deliveries are more and more often wrong or missing, because there is little consequences for such mistakes. The in-app support is inexistant, there is no chat system like with more modern delivery apps. This forces you to send manually an e-mail that is answered too late to fix the order. Consider using Uber eats or others if available.
