Lifecake - Baby Photo Timeline

Using this app is like someone taking the thousands of pictures you created, dumped them on a pile on your floor, and held your face really close to it so you can't really see what's going on. I want albums, tagging, sorting, a broad view of what is there. this has none of that. It's instructions are vague and you're constantly having to go somewhere else to get setup with a log on. it's a really good timeline, and that's it.

why fix it if it's not broke?! I installed this app and enjoyed it for a year or two following my grandbabies. One day i couldn't get in and reset my password only to find that it had been "upgraded" to a frustrating, very slow moving, version of the former. furthermore, you have to go 2 pages deep to see comments or stories of each photo. Arghh... don't change things for the sake of change. change for improvement. this is NOT an improvement.

It's just ok. Many family members had such a hard time using it that they gave up. It also sends out a ton of emails to your family which feels spammy and intrusive. The 1G free limit approaches quickly. It doesn't pull all the photos from the camera, just the most recent and I couldn't add a photo directly from the photos app-it crashes. I like that it puts your kid's age on every photo.

I love the way it sets out the timeline. It dates the photos well and indicates age, which is super helpful for my 'mum brain'. I must say the major setback is the incredibly steep annual fee if you want unlimited storage. I have been trying to find an alternate app that isn't so ridiculous. Very user friendly and beautifully laid out though.

Love this app! Great to be able to scroll through and see the date stamp so you can see exactly what age of the picture. Only reason I'm giving this a 4 out 5 is that the upload speed of pictures / video can be pretty slow. Good amount of space for free but once I've used it I will probably upgrade as its pretty reasonable value. We've been using the app for about 1.5 years and still got plenty of space on the free version even with the amount of videos we've added.

Uploading rarely works the first time, sometimes I can select and upload 20 pictures at one time and it will work perfectly fine, other times, I can chose 10 and they will fail. A massive error that is so frustrating and leaves me unable to use the app, meaning I fall behind with pictures and need to upload more and more! I daren't even try a video!

I love lifecake!! Super easy to upload and captioned and I can easily tag my children!! On the main page you can see all of your pictures or posts, or you can look at each child individually!! It also shows their exact age in each picture. You can also favorite pictures and it's easy to invite others!! I have Pictures from 2013 to now (3 kids) and have only used 20% of the free storage so far! But would definitely upgrade when needed!

It's a great way to store the best photos and videos and share with friends and family for them to look at or print themselves. However while it works fine for us, a lot of our family have had issues with access and photos uploading for them. So a great idea in theory but not totally great in practice!

Love this app and it's so lovely to share it with other family members. Also nice timeline flow with dates. Only wish that there was a function where you can separate the pictures and videos instead of having to scroll all the way through your library to find the video clips. If it had that function, easily 5 stars!!!

We've used Lifecake for 4 years but I am very disappointed that the app is closing with virtually no notice. Uploads were revoked immediately without warning. The massive increase in price for their identical replacement app cannot be justified. We have just created an album on Google Photos and shared with family. The functionalty is almost identical for a fraction of the cost.

I have been using Lifecake since my oldest was born in 2015. It is such an amazing way to keep family and friends in the loop privately. I love that I can look back at both of my kids' lives from day 1 with this app, love the side by side comparisons they give of different ages, and we can download old pictures or videos at any point so it frees up storage. Sometimes uploads get stuck but overall I am very happy with this app!

I have used this app for 2.5yrs now, since my Son was born. I've since had a daughter too and I love that I have one place to keep all of their photos which can be shared with close family members. I don't upload their photos to social media and so this is a perfect alternative where I feel that they're secure. So easy to use and order prints etc too. Definitely recommend, I very often go through and look at their 'old' photos and it's been lovely to compare my daughter to my son when she was his age, as everything is in date order

Not happy... I have 3-4 years worth of pictures on Lifecake, most of which I dont have copies of anymore. I just found out they were switching to "new" app (Back Then) which will cost $5 a month! That's a bit steap considering my circumstances at the moment... Oh but wait! Supposedly you have the choice to download your photos to a mobile device or computer if you're not willing to pay. Except that, you cant! Ive tried everything and I cannot get my sweet babie's photos off this awful app! 😡

Pretty good but very baby centric. The app gets a bit impractical for older children or pets (but hey, at least I know now the age of my 6 year old in months and days). Case in point is the new ugly icon... The old one was so simple and clean, also exemplifying growth and life. The new one? A cartoon baby. So lazy. One star review as long as I have to look at that awful thing.

This is an app to share and store memories, but lately have found my family can't see everything I've uploaded, even though they appear to have been successful on my timeline (and same with their assets). There is no indication that assets haven't been added/shared successfully. The fundamental purpose of the app is unreliable. I've sent examples to Lifecake but they seem disinterested in addressing the actual flaw in the app function, and just tell me I need to reupload the specific assets .

Awful. Recently noticed more and more photos not loading, and videos no longer playing. Contacted support, they said it was because I must have closed the app before the uploads were done. But the photos used to be there, I look at them regularly so know they slowly started disappearing - more so around the time they emailed about paying for an upgrade on storage, but as I only used 80% I didn't need to. 333 images are no longer there out of apprx 560 so have lost treasured memories of our Son

Love the app, it's a great way to share pics of our little one especially during these difficult times!! Only downside is apparently we have used 90% of memory in 2 months when a friend of mine who has had the app now for 17 months and posts way more than we do is only on 71% of memory used!!

I ordered some photos for my mum, paid 8 pounds and they arrived last week. They were of extremely poor quality, dark, heads missing etc, nothing like the photos on the lifecake site. I don't know how to contact you to either get a refund or some better quality pictures. The app itself is a great way for families to keep in touch and to share photos and seems to work well.

Love the app but we were notified it was closing and that we can switch our account to 'back then' app and still have all our photos in one place. When i came to search for the back then app on playstore it didnt exist! It would be useful to let us know when the back then app will be available especially as i have already set up and account for it via lifecake.

Great for those who love sharing photos and videos privately with people that matter and not sticking things on public social media (something my partner and I are not keen on doing). Very easy and intuitive to use. Older family members that are not technically savvy have had no problem accessing.

Really great app allowing the family to keep up to date with children/pets via photo's and video. It's good in conjunction with things like WhatsApp as it keeps all the images in one place and doesn't clog the phone by having to down them permanently. There's also a Web browser version for people without smartphones

Switch to tinybeans. Was great until they pulled out the rug. They obviously timed the closing down of lifecake and heavy push to another higher paid service at a time when people are needing it the most. I do not reward immoral people with my business so I started the search for something else. Thankfully I found a much better service with tinybeans. It's unlimited free space with the only limitation so far being 30sec videos, which is fine for me. I wish I would have found this much earlier.

great for keeping and sharing photos. I love the display which makes it easy to navigate and see pics over the course of time. great for kids - watching them grow - you can easily scroll back and see photos from a year ago and see how they've changed.

No warning to app closing and all functions halted, even though it's not closing till 30th of June. We just paid an annual subscription and there's no way to transfer this to the new app as yet. As such, we can't use the new app unless we pay more money on top of what we already have. Poor show.

Generally I love this app, however recently it's been a bit buggy, and specifically I'm now no longer able to upload any new pics from any what's app pictures sent to me. Latest dated pic I can select for upload is from mid September. I'm having to share from the pic direct which is time consuming when I want to upload multiple pictures.

Fab way of sharing pics with family and friends. Excellent that it dates the pictures with how old the child is. However, storage is limited and I think £60 to upgrade to unlimited is very expensive. Also the 'products' (physical pictures etc) are pricey too.

I used the app to make birthday books. The process was cumbersome, did not recognize various pixel densities and offered no final book preview. I was glad to have the service but disappointed in the final book's look. Overall app is great for sharing online.
