More like 4.5 stars, but I didn't see where they mentioned the most important important (at least, for me): landscape orientation! To be honest, the writing tone is not much different from the first story, but the stories are great, nevertheless. There were tension and worries you'd have for the main character, and though it may be obvious, it's still surprisingly effective when the main character uses your name to speak to you.
I enjoyed the game overall, but there was repeating dialogue and getting the same travel options after every quest. It was creepy, and I played it twice to get a different ending, but I wish there had been just a bit more flavor added to the overall text.
This is a very disappointing sequel. The first game had great design as a game and a good way of delivering story. This one the protagonist describes stuff just for imagery sake, they're always talking. There's no away time. The forced pop references are cringe-worthy. The choices feel more like excuses to invite exposition dumps rather than move the story. And if you do make it to a decision on action, the character might just say, "No. I have to." Which makes it not feel like a game.
I love this series a lot, and this installment is no exception. It's actually really cool, I live in Oregon, which is where it's set. At one point it mentions Happy Valley, which is where I live. It adds a big personalization factor knowing that it's set in real areas, it made it even more fun for me.
Loved this gameplay, was very tense at times to make choices but overall it was amazing and very intriguing. Reccomened for a good story and an overtime gameplay.
Honestly literally any other lifeline game is so much more fun that this one. The rest have Taylor in space, and this is just some magic kid needing 3 three items before he encounters a magic little girl. Its not interesting, it's a total waste of the last money I had. Why didn't I look at the other options ? Because the sequels supposed to be good and related to the first, that's why.
If you're having ANY doubts about downloading this app, DON'T. Cast any doubts aside, and download it. I felt like I was right there in the story, & I felt so attached to the main character. This was so good. I was iffy about giving it a try, but it was just as great as the first lifeline game. I'm so happy I played this game.
Nope don't waste your time! I've given this game a fighting chance. The character puts you on hold to sleep and cast spells and it's like hours in real time. When you answer one way it's clear that the response doesn't go with what you've answered and the "company support" when it keeps booting you out of the game?.. well it leads to a website that no longer exists so... Forget customer support. I didn't even get $1 of enjoyment out of this so it wasn't even worth the $1. Save your money!
A great text adventure game with tons of highlights and good moments my favorite of all the life line games the only problem I have is that there isn't a sequel for arika
One of the best text RPGs, writing's so good and needs a little thinking to get through, perfect.
Unpolished. The game crashes for me when I confirm that I wear a hoodie or a metal band t. The other choice gets me further. Didn't have such issues with other Lifeline games.
I've bought every game by this guy. If only there were more Lifelines. Especially in space. Been a while since I've played. Time to do another run-through.
Please update app for OLED screens. Experiencing burn-in due to unchanging interface.
This one was my least favorite story line in the series. Still worth checking, but not quite as engaging.
Great game in the Lifeline Series, love the dabbling in magic and reality, makes for a great story.
Great story telling. Decisions to guide the other person is amazing. would like more.
Love the story, feels like your decisions actually make a difference. Very well done!
Just finished the story for the first time after two failures. I want MOAR.
Good game good story..just dont like the wait time..but great game
very fun, I loved helping out akira and it was very immersive
Lovely and engrossing story. Loved it!
Really liked the story and the main character
I love the Lifeline series of games.
Still a fun lifeline game. But not as good as the others in my opinion
pretty cool but the ending is anticlimatic
Great Interactive Story!
10/10, enjoyed the story
Even better that the first. Looking forward to the next one.
LOVE the game just wish they brought Arika back
Really wanted to like this, enjoyed the concept of the original Lifeline, but am more of a fan of fantasy than sci-fi. However the writing in this just kills it for me. Firstly while the original Lifeline involved you trying to help someone survive, so there was some urgency and stakes, this one involves a vague long term goal of finding the protagonist's brother with no timeline or particular stakes. At the start I was consistently offered choices between should I do something risky (steal a car, use dark magic) to go 50 miles, or should I walk and I'm thinking "You have all the time in the world, just walk." Which brings me to my second and more important point. The writing of the main character I found simply annoying. The intro to the main character is laced with self-pity and wanting validation from you, as a stranger, which didn't endear her to me at all. Then throughout interactions she mostly spoke with a passive aggressive or sarcastic tone ("Oh sure... I'd loooove to do what you're suggesting, I'll just suffer over here, I'm sorry my life isn't more wonderful") which again for me just made her very unlikeable. In fact, after playing the game for quite some time I never even encountered any fantastical elements, just a whiny girl complaining about hiking through Oregon. Was hopeful for this one but unfortunately chose to uninstall. Hopefully a sequel will improve on this, I would have loved more action/mystery and urgency as well as more immersion into a fantasy world rather than mundane decisions.
