I installed the door opener 2 years ago, but my wireless coverage to my detached garage was not good enough for the app to work. Recently I got better WiFi, partly so I could get this to work (and lets be honest, also to stream Spotify while tinkering out there :) After a few hiccups, I got it connected and working well. The biggest benefit for me is being able to know the status of my door from a ways away. You know, hypothetically, if one wonders if he in fact closed the door when he left the house an hour ago...
Delayed notifications and incorrect timestamp make this apps notifications terrible. I had to disable all notifications. If I can remember to open the app before getting home, it works much better than my in car door opener. No geo fencing, even though I was lead to believe there was (is), but only with a Mitsubishi. I'll keep using it for the convenience of checking the status and using the opener.
Google home/Google Assistant used to work when I used your extension. Then I upgraded my garage opener to a belt and chose your product because of this feature. However this feature is no longer available when I want to open the door hands-free. Very disappointed in lack of support and major feature that could easily be fixed between you and Google.
Update: every few months the camera notification is delayed by a few hours. Garage door open/close notification is pretty close to when the event happened. Chat services is not helpful with this issue. They want me to reinstall the app. Last time I finally got them to escalate and they definitely found something on their end as a day later, the notifications were on time again. But today the camera notifications are delayed again. Tried chat support, told me to reinstall. Bzzzzttt. Wrong answer.
Worked well, until it said it needed to update. It goes to a screen where it asks if a green light is blinking. It isn't blinking. Retry... Unplug and plug up... Green light comes back on solid... Repeat infinitely. Cannot open the door until this "action required" is satisfied, which I cannot do. I'm not sure what to do at this point. The opener is useless until I can get this update issue resolved. There is no point in the process where the device is blinking green.
Appreciate the safety aspect of the flashing light and such but there is quite a delay between the time you send the command and the door actually closes causing you to have to wait in the driveway to make sure it was closed before you leave. The camera is super super sensitive by showing motions even when there is none and considers lights going on or off as a motion alerts - so annoying. Constant notifications of it going offline at random. Fix it already!
When it works, it works decently well, albeit with a delayed response. Geek alert: I have my garage door opener on a separate SSID and network for IoT (Internet of Things) devices. I do this for security reasons. Half the time I can tap and tap and nothing happens. I restart the app and it connects straight away and responds. 25 pct of the time it just works. The other 25 pct of the time it's super laggy and only responds after 5 seconds. I have 1Gbps fiber. This app is a pain in my rear
Works well. Can hang occasionally but...not sure if that's the apps fault or just the nature of lots of different hardware running on Android OS. I do REALLY like that the garage door opener integrates easily with Home Assistant and Amazon's delivery service. Knowing my packages are secure in garage is fantastic! Especially the way things are going these days! 4 stars cause it works 95% of the time and I don't give 5 stars easily. 😋
I use MyQ for one purpose only which is to open and close my garage remotely. But it bugs me to no end that the open and close notifications show up on my phone 10 to 15 minutes after the event. Obviously, the MyQ servers are not up to the task of sending open and close notifications on a timely basis. For many of us, this is a major security issue. 10 to 15 minutes is plenty of time for a thief to get into an open garage and steal valuables. Fixing this should be priority #1.
Easy to install and great features. Worked as soon as I synced it with our opener. Like being able to remotely open and close the door. The camera feature also gives additional security and allows me to speak with whoever's in the garage. I've been using the app for a few weeks and it is great. I get notifications if there is movement in the garage as well as when the garage door opens or closes. The speaker is the weakest link but good enough that people hear me and understand. Still Excellent!
Overall, great and convenient. Works with Amazon delivery. However, I have a problem making sure the door is closed at night. I cannot configure the notifications to alert me at a particular time that the garage is still open. Also, the app has issues working when I get close to the house, because my phone in process of switching to wifi. When this happens, the app asks you log in. But when you do. It doesn't work. I even changed my password, until I figured it out. Should give an error.
MyQ Garage & Access Control is working great. I have had the garage door opener and the application for 8 days now and so far, no issues. When I installed the application, it asked to sign up for the Amazon in garage delivery a few times, but now the app opens right to the live view of the garage, and I can open and close the garage door with no issues.
Simple interface and easy to use and set up. Authentication over the internet almost every time you use the app seems unnecessary. Couldn't this all be done local with the hardware and device? No full integration with Google. Able to set up alerts for open/close which are handy but maybe not as useful as an alert for "garage has been open for x minutes." Frequent "Failed to fetch profile" errors with no additional information to assist on troubleshooting is quite frustrating.
Poor connectivity, without any relevant diagnostic information to user, inscrutable "sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't", while no problem on others' parts, etc. Poor Google Home/Assistant integration that makes zero sense. Been this way for years across multiple phones. And notification text for when garage door opens and closes is an hour earlier than reality and what the history tab shows in the app.
Overall it does the job for me, but a few issues. 1) It CONSTANTLY bugs you to sign up for their paid camera service (for devices that have a camera), every time I launch the app. Very frustrating. 2) I found how to make a schedule to auto close the garage door at a certain time of night, but I just want a notification if it's open at that time. I wasn't able to figure out how to do that, but I might be doing it wrong.
Update: It seems to have problems in a household that has 2.4G and 5 GHz networks. Three times in the last month I've tried to use it to open the door only to have the door open hours later. Not cool. Older: Mostly good. It frequently does not notify me that the door was opened until many minutes later. It also is hit or miss regarding closing automatically once I leave a certain geofence.
Anytime power goes out or something happens it resets everything. Then app doesn't work and setting it back up with the wifi doesn't work. It will start to randomly work a month from when it went down or even later. It's not a reliable app from my experience.
Second time, second home. Seems to work well, although the blinking and beeping on remote closing seems a bit excessive. One feature I would love to see included is the ability to remotely turn on the lights WITHOUT having to open the door.
This app needs work. When i receive notification that my garage door has open/closed the time it shows on my phone does not match my phone time nor the history. The history and the phone time are correct, but the notification time is a hour behind. The app doesn't allow for adjustment. It's minor but it should show true time or allow adjustment to correct it!
One morning I went to the garage and found it open. Apparently it didn't close all the way and reversed the night before and I didn't notice. So, I downloaded the app and set it to notify me when the door is up for more than 10 minutes. This is nice but a text message would make a much louder "beep" on the phone than a notification does. Having a history of door operations back a week or two is nice. But, do I really need to know when the door was operated several months ago?
App by itself works fine but doesn't work with the Google assistant as it says. Service is paired but everything I ask it to shut the garage door when it's open it just tells me the garage door is open and does nothing. You can't even open the garage door with Google assistant!!! Wished I would have done more research but now I've waited too long to return it, guess I'll just go through the app to use it which works great but really wished it worked better and fully with the Google assistant.
Wanted a 2nd opener and tried this app as a solution. Sadly not sure it's the best. Works but just clumsy and perhaps just my unit but it beeps like a smoke detector going off the whole process of closing. I get having an "alert" but I don't think my neighbors need wakened about my garage door closing... alerts are like off on time zone? (Maybe?) Says they happen an hour in the future. Probably easy fix but why bother - not impressed enough to keep it and fight settings that seem like basics
1st time setup was simple and easy. The device lost connectivity to the app at about 12months into ownership the steps to reset, re-add to the app, then the remotes, then the keypad. It was a seriously tedious experience that should not have been so difficult. I work in IT and was able to get it troubleshot and resolved in about 25 mintues. Other than that I really like how quite the belt drive is.
