1 month later I'm back to give this 1 star instead of 3. The app/bulb dysfunction has become progressively worse. There's a lot of bugs when coming back to it after a while, like the bulb refusing to switch colors. Or disconnecting entirely from wifi and being troublesome to reconnect. The music sync feature doesn't work at all. There should also be an option to leave the strobe on for those of us who wish to do so. Just put a non-liabilty warning. I would never recommend this to anyone I like.

When it works, it works well. However, I've had problems connecting to my lights for months now (sometimes connects, sometimes doesn't). I've spent a frustrating amount of time trying to get things working. I've rebooted everything, reinstalled the app, deleted my account, played with router/access point settings (which is 2.4ghz on the ceiling of the same room as my devices btw), but it still refuses to connect to my internet at all. Will have to spend more hours now... Extremely disappointed

Speaking as someone who studied human computer interaction and designs software UI's for a living this app is an example of a pretty interface with poor useability. There are well established conventions in mobile UIs, but this app does everything possible to avoid those conventions which results in an unintuitive mess of icons, imagery, and controls that makes for a frustrating experience. I find myself using third party apps as much as possible to avoid having to use this.

I don't understand. A year ago my lights connected just fine with the app. Now the lights no longer connect to the network making it useless. I've had my light since 2020, and I believe 4.11.0 is the culprit. It used to work fine and now it no longer works. WHY BREAK THINGS? I have the same network, same phone, and light. Just update ruined everything.

The connectivity is so bad now, I have to reset my one bedroom light and re-add it every night. The app tries to connect to the light when I re-open it and often it won't connect. I have to get up, move my entire dresser to access the plug, and attempt to reset it by unplugging it and replacing it in 5 times quickly or it won't register. I am done with Lifx products and will only be purchasing Philips Hue bulbs from here on out. I recommend a hardwired connection with their bridge.

This app and it's integration with LIFX devices used to be okay (at best). With the app update it is completely broken. Will not connect to devices. The disconnect betwern the app and web based account management is convoluted. Removing a device is unnecessarily confusing. Why can't you simply delete a device from the app?? Revised instructions suggest I have to reconfigure my whole WiFi with seperate 2.4 and 5Hhz SSID's (as though it is 2010). Expensive hardware with unreliable app.

Pathetic. Been trying to re-install a light that lost connectivity for a week now. Even tried installing new lights thinking the original one went bad. No luck. Stuck on "preparing light" step. Uninstalled and reinstalled app. Reset router and lights MULTIPLE tines. Still no luck. Have more than 35 lights. Bought and replaced a few after they crapped out. Never again!!! I've spent way too much money to get a "broken" app. Fix your $%*+!!!! Because, I'm obviously not the only one complaining!!

Terrible app. They are pretty if they work. I've owned these for years and they sucked since day one. Edit: I finally got them to work using two phones. One android to hook them to the internet and while it was pending... I took a apple and connected it as well. Neither pending page would go past, but the light would blink and appear in guests. I could then assign it. Phew lol. 3 stars because they are cool when they work, but sheesh.

I want to update my review. The app improved alot. I enjoy the light features. It seems easier to connect with my Alexa device (Echo dot) through wifi. However, the Alexa Mobile App can't connect with LIFX. I downloaded LIFX smart skill in the Alexa APP and still couldn't connect. Not sure it's LIFX App or Alexa APP. I finished setup in LIFX App to connect to my internet too.

Good, wish there was a way to connect via data or tethering, not sure how it would work. I feel the dimmer option could have one more before full or off. Love being able to connect with Alexa. Love the schedule and fade up in line with my alarm and gradually fade to up to desired level.

Style over substance - the app used to be simplistic but did what it needed to. The new fancy layout looks nice but hardly ever works.. My schedules always disable themselves and never work. The integration with IFTTT also doesn't work. Night as well get a hive.

This app is trash, bulbs are good but you can't make a good app that allows stable connectivity. Well then let third party web apps exist. I can't add bulbs, it's stuck on preparing device no matter the network settings and which device is being used.

Was spotty the last few months taking awhile to recognize my lights/groups. Now for over a week, my wifi or the app hasn't been able to recognize my lights at all. Restarted phone, uninstalled/installed app and still could not find devices. Very frustrating not able to control lights through voice now either.

App was so good until the past few updates. My 2 bulbs hardly work now. After resetting many times (the process of resetting and repairing a light is long and works hardly 10% of the time), they would work as intended for maybe a day. My bulbs "go dark" almost everytime you try to do ANYTHING. Using my alexa to turn them on is more reliable for some reason, but it still flops frequently. I thought it was a "me" problem at first. But obviously not judging by these reviews. Don't waste your time.

Awful. Every second time I open in the app it cannot detect or adjust any of the discovered devices. Have to rediscover all devices again. I may as well just have standard LED lights at this stage.

I give it a zero but can't. Over the years this app gone from great to unusable. App won't connect or find ANY fixtures at all. No way to reassign wifi info. I given up. Free up my wifi and go with direct led lighting.

For the premium price you pay for an led with a diffuser you would think they would last longer than 4 months with minimum run time. Connectivity is terrible the app looks fancy but it's terrible,janky and has a mind of its own.

works fine for just a day or two. a week at most. then it wont connect and even when you reset and uninstall everything, the light still thinks its connected and isnt discoverable. maybe hue will be worth it.

Connecting to the light can be quite a challenge. After some trial and error I switched from using my Android phone to iOS and this was sufficient to correctly configure WiFi access.

Don't waste your money, this app NEVER works. I spend more time troubleshooting and trying to get it to connect than I do actually using it. There's a reason this app has such a low rating and it's very disappointing because it's a great concept.

Since taking a slow and methodical approach when adding all my bulbs and schedules back in everything has worked flawlessly. I deleted all my schedules and bulbs then slowly added the bulbs back. I waited a day before adding my schedules. It's been 2 months and I'm happy.

Won't connect all tiles. At first I could connect a beam light and 1 tile (I have 5 tiles but they refuse to connect to echother) now no tiles will connect to the app at all.
