LIFX Tasker Plugin
Need some ideas? Here's a few to get you started:
* Get notified: Pulse bulbs when you get a notification. Use different colors for different apps to know what's up before you even check your phone!
* Turn on the lights: Turn on your lights automatically when you get home at night.
* Wake up: Turn on your bulbs automatically with your morning alarm. Make a short light show to help you force yourself out of bed in the morning!
* Make shortcuts to an action right on your home screen. Instantly toggle a group of bulbs!

Currently in alpha, it supports:
* Basic actions: on, off, toggle, set color, pulse color from any Tasker profile
* Discovery and select any combination of bulbs on your network
* Quick bulb control via the "LIFX Tasker Plugin" app (found in your app drawer)
More actions (including color and brightness changing) and event support coming soon!

works on first install only. as soon as the app restarts it never finds any bulb again.
doesn't work half the time.
Free and does exactly what it supposed to. Brightness controls would be cool, but beggars can't be choosers.
But keeps disconnecting from my bulbs and has to be reinstalled shame if dev fixes the connection issues would be great but not really use able running 5.1.1
Would be nice to be able to activate scenes and brightness, but hey - it's free and it does what it says it can do. use it with autovoice to turn my bedroom light on hands-free
I use it with auto voice. No frills solution to handsfree lighting. It's like living in the future!

I've had pretty good success with this plugin for Tasker. What it really needs is the ability to set brightness level, and a proper range for colour temperature. I hope the developer can add these features, I would be happy to throw a few bucks their way if it would help make the difference.
It was all working great. Until the LIFX app and bulb firmware got an update. Probably that changed a few APIs and restructured. Please provide an update! It's an extremely useful plugin/app for me and many others. Thanks.
This plugin was awesome until the previous LIFX firmware update. I would love to see an update to fix the bugs--this is a really cool concept but is really frustrating now that it has no function. Please update!!

Does not work for me
Drops connection incessantly
...but alas it does not. It will see the bulbs fine when you first open it, but I could not get even a basic power on task to work even once. Great idea, but needs a lot of work.
Stopped working. Standalone on/off ok but no bulb showing up in tasker. Worked plus minus before update.
Unfortunately, it does not work as expected. It can recognize the bulbs and even turn them on/off if run as an application. Does not work at if created as task.
This needs a lot of work before it can be considered ready for production. Crashes often. Sometimes only recognises some (or none!) of my bulbs. Colour selection is primitive with no way to select from a palette of different white colour temps like the official app. I had high hopes when I found this, but it did not live up to my expectations.
After the latest update it can now recognize and control 1/4 bulbs without any problems. I hooked it up to pushbullet and it works pretty well!
Took me an hour to find the bulbs and get it working. Then loses then, rendering the task I created useless.
You can create a task, test it, and everything is OK... But it loses bulbs (likely on wifi change/loss). I've had to force stop the plugin in order to get it to refresh the bulb info. Once the bulbs are lost, tasks don't function.
Can get it to select my bulbs, but it doesn't turn them on or off.
Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Causes bulbs to become unresponsive occasionally and breaks them in other apps
Connection to lifx lights doesn't persist after working the first time. It's like the app falls asleep and needs you to try and locate it again. This means it's useless for using with tasker because eventually it just won't trigger the task correctly. Unfortunately I can't get a refund.
