It's great, works as both handheld and spot meter. I love that it shows the classic full range aperture and shutter combinations, not just fixed priority. Two things could be improved though. I hate having to set the ISO every time I open it, and I think the handheld meter uses face camera, which is kind of silly.
Allows calibration, but should allow more! I would advise users to first calibrate the app with the help of a DSLR. Upon installing, the app was overexposing by two stops. It allows calibration, but only to 2.0 EV. This is still overexposed by one stop, but from here it is easy to compensate (as well as the fact that many photographers advise overexposing by one stop when using film). If the developers add an update to allow calibrating beyond 2.0 EV, I will update this review to 5 stars.
Great tool for spot measurement when applying the zone system. Also the matrix measurement is very good. I have used it mainly for training the sunny 16 rule. I've started calibrating by using the light meter of a Nikon D7200. From time to time I check with light meters of digital cameras but so far did not need to recalibrate. I like all the possibilities of fixing iso, aperture or shutter time. This app is the only one that I have found that functions on a Blackberry Keyone.
Best UI of any android meter, but consistently incorrect readings. About 3 stops below reality. If the calibration allowed for more correction, that would be forgivable.. but sadly not.
Accurate readings in spot mode. User interface could use some work, and the matrix function is clunky because it's tough to tell how large the metering area is.
Absolutely best light meter! But please bring the device mode back! Maybe in standalone app or in easter egg... It was so nice and easy, I used just device mode no one else!
It works! The interface is easy enough for me to figure out; and I could verify the meter with the "sunny f/16 rule." Thank you, developer!
Probably the best app lightmeter but not really pro accuracy but perhaps that's a bit much to ask for.
Using it on my Huawei for a lightmeter for my hasselblad, it agrees roughly with my real light meter and produces fairly accurate results.
Seems to work ok when comparing to my cameras meter. However, I cant figure out how to calibrate?
Very handy Light meter, usefull if you dont have poper one! Does the Job! Recommend it!
Pretty easy to use and reliable for exposure metering.
It's great for shooting film cameras fast and easy to use!
Very complicated. No instructions. Get nagged to upgrade. Uninstalling.
Not usable. Do not install on Huawei, locks up phone have to reboot to clear
Reads 3 EV units low on Moto G6. That's more than can be calibrated out.
Solid. Complicated yes but a neat digital interface.
Great apps but the interface is little confusing and frustrating
workin as a chrme ,easy and accurate on my MI A2 very responsive interface
The camera view's user interface is great.
Quite complex even with a fair understanding of photography
Works great. Easy and fast to use.
Garbage. Measurement is off from a real light meter.
Great app if your cam doesn't have a lightmeter
Lets my 1950's film cameras take better pictures.
best app so far.. close to acurate
I'm currently testing the app, so far it's ok.
Best one around...
I can't test the accuracy yet, but this is the first of a dozen light meter apps I've tried that appears even close to my expectations. It's also the only one that appears to be setup as a functional ambient meter with rear camera. The default setup is a bit busy, but if you set Basic Interface and Expanded Interface in the settings, then it's a perfect handheld meter. Also one of the few meters that doesnt force you to use menus to change the ISO or f/stop.
