I had lost a small Bluetooth step counter in my home. I searched the play store and found several apps claiming to be able to locate Bluetooth devices but they were worthless. Finally I found this app. It took about 10 minutes walking in the house to find the step counter. Kudos to the developer of this gem. Thanks!
Lost one of my wireless earphones. When I activated Bluetooth and paired the phone, the app couldn't show me the earphone which was in my hand and saved as Airdopes on my phone. Just a list of weird Mac addresses which made no sense. Disappointed.
write info is cleared when I exit a char. older revs keep past writes so you can repeat whitout typing it all in again. they also queried device info automaticly and deplayed as string. no longer?
Great, but no notifications? It would be amazing if you could subscribe to a characteristic and then receive in app notifications when the characteristic receives a notification of its own. I think this behavior occurred in the past? But it doesn't happen anymore (Note 20 Ultra). Please go back to doing that!
I would rate this thing 5 stars before the recent update. Before I was able to see the user description with the uuid for individual characteristics in the explorer. Now I have to navigate to the correct uuid and go into it to see the characteristic user description. Also, the Hex keyboard does not seem to work right. I can only type in one character at a time, no more. I also can not delete the single character written.
I ran the app. This cannot be right. With "Show paired devices" on, I have found 7 devices I can connect to, but I don't own any of these devices. What is going on here? 05/23/20 Update: Got it! thank you for clearing that up. Sorry I have two more question. When show paired is checked, it shows me a list of devices. These devices are not mine. So #1 devices do not have to be in my wifi network for me to see them on the list? #2 how am I connecting to of these devices when they aren't mine
I used this app to find my lost Bluetooth earbud. I was able to play hotter-colder with the signal strength to find it in a patch of long grass it had fallen into. The built in find my earbud feature was useless, I had nearly given up when installing this app so thanks so much!
Hangs routinely, so I had to stop and restart it routinely. Two other programs were more reliable. I did learn from using this app that apparently most BT devices can't be identified even by manufacturer, so at least I got one thing out of it. Just not my device. But that's not their fault.
Lost my huawei Freebuds 2 days ago. Couldn't figure out where to find them, at the office at my house or in the car. Had almost written them off when I searched the internet as a last ditch effort, installed lightblue and voila... Within 5 minutes of roaming about in the house I found them... Great app.. 5 stars all the way... There's one caveat though... Instead of just the Mac address it should display the device type or name as well, would be more helpful.
Found my fitbit! Didn't work on my phone but worked on my partners. Clicked on my fitbit on the app, then on the dial which opens some more options then found it through the Distance feature. Ended up being outside in a bin bag!!!! Tried many apps and this was the only one that worked and didnt cost money.
Was losing my mind looking for an item I could keep connecting to. Found it within 3 mins after opening the map
Can't even see the signal strength of the device i have connected.
Trying to find my other side of earbuds, end up this f apps wanted me to connect others device..
Better than most apps when it comes to the ads but it doesnt work for my earbuds and I'm only missing one but still if it also looked for things like earbuds or would name ALL BLUETOOTH DEVICES then it could be useful for more people and would get a solid 5/5 but it's so confusing
Skip this program if you don't like your software being snarky at you. Seriously, some of the response strings are "I don't do anything" and "Stop poking me" and "I can do this all day." Admittedly, I only installed this software to interface with an AT-09 module. It was a recommendation of my vendor and I sort of suspect that my module is faulty or was improperly set up by my vendor. It's not clear why my vendor thinks this program will help, and it's not completely clear where I should be clicking to get things going. So snark is pretty annoying at this point.
Very versatile and reliable. I'd like the data format to be remembered when returning to the same device and service.
I had lost my fitbit charge 2 and with 3 young kids it might've grown legs. I was able to find it with this app although I wish it was a little more clear of what is needed to do for noobs.
I use this app in my PhD research projects to debug the BLE-enabled custom embedded systems that I develop. The app is very user-friendly, has most of the useful features, and is improving day-by-day.
Where can I read the contents of 'Characteristic User Description (2901)' descriptor? It would be very usefull when exploring services of undocumented BLE devices. Other than that, the app is greap and your blog is awesome! Update: Thanks, now it's even better!:)
Does what it says. I lost my Garmin watch, it fell behind my wardrobe. I'd of never of found it. You just have to move around very slowly with your phone for it to find the Bluetooth signal
No peripheral mode, only central mode. This is a crippled version of iOS app where you have both modes available.
Bug in RSSI filter in ver 1.7. Slides to -30dBm only and won't slide back. Have to restart app each time.
I installed this after contacting fitbit to find my misplaced fitbit. Let me just say this app worked beautifully. I wouldn't have found it without this app.
Fairly useless, it detected 80+ unnamed devices all with fairly similar strengths. Uninstalled.
Thank you so much! Helped me find my fitbit in a 1 acre yard with tall grass! Super easy to use, 5 stars!
Absolutely ace BLE debug tool. It obviously requires a little bit of an understanding of what you're doing, but it allows you to send and receive BT characteristics in various formats such as hex or UTF-8 strings, which makes it ideal for manual work or debugging.
