It's a pretty good system. Been using it for the last 7 days. Accuracy is good. Downsides are it eats batteries fast and seems to disconnect whenever you pass near another Bluetooth device. Make sure you always have a pin with you to reset it.
Latest version (4.3.0) crashes immediately upon launch or upon attempting to just sign in. Completely broken. It is also unavailable on my Fossil Gen 6, which they claim to support. I bought my watch specifically to use with this app. So basically my Nightrider BluCon is completely useless now. People depend on this for their health, your app development team should be testing more thoroughly before pushing out updates.
Thank you so much for the efforts. This app alerted us that my son is having a hypoglycemic episode immediately while we all were asleep (even though the numbers are not precise but I had set it to alert us at 4.5) and it did, despite the phone was silent. Thank God for his mercy and thank you guys.
I've been using the blucon for a month now, and can honestly say that its not worth the investment. The app can be "calibrated" to show any glucose level you want it to - it doesnt actually pull the readings, just how high/low you are since the last reading. It has to be reset if it loses connectivity, which kills batteries. And it doesnt naturally stick to the sensor, you have to stick it or get an armband, if it comes off you get a warning, and then have to reposition it and reset!
Constantly disconnects, doesn't update. I've worn mine 10 days, still has the time from 3 rd day and says I have 9 days on the sensor left. It insists on being paired yet when you cancel this it shows it is! It even says your battery is empty when it is fully charged !!! stupid notifications go one all night. Get no sleep unless shut phone off. Piece of junk.
Just updated the app. Now when I try to open it, it says there is a bug in it. The app was fine before the update. Now I cannot even connect to my nightrider. Keeps throwing me out of the app. Please fix this quickly.
This app locks up all the time on a LG LGL 158VL cell phone. Its companion app locks up and quits working on a samsung S7. Currently it is connected but doesn't update the reading. The reading it shows is from 2 days ago at 10:12 am. Un-installed and re-installed still doesn't work. Worked good for 3-4 days and then just stopped working. Replaced battery in 14 day Libre still no go. This is the worst piece of software I have ever tried using. Messaged back and forth with the company and they wanted me to send then the diagnostics file. Can't do that, whenever I go to the help screen the software crashes. Wouldn't be so bad if this wasn't the only software that would work with the Nightrider that I spent $170+ for. Total piece of garbage that I would not recommend to my worst enemy. I wish I could rate it at a minus 5 stars. 1 star is to good it.
App updated today - and now my Samsung S21 5G won't run it, as it says there is a bug. Please update asap.
I am completely impressed with my BluCon NightRider. I've been using it for 10 days and its alarms for hypoglycemia have already proven to be a lifesaver. I am so happy with this product. I haven't had any connectivity issues and only minor issues I notice with the reports section after updates. It's amazing to have a 24/7 window into what my diabetes is doing and to view it on both my phone and my fitbit. I am beyond grateful.
I have been using FreeStyle for last 1 year 6 months and have been using Bluocn for last 6 months with my libre sensor. I love the both combinations. Also, I love the way they have designed the app. I can connect my blucon with my apple watch without phone. I can get my readings on my apple health also on Nightscout. I can add my insulin, food, medicine, exercise etc. So many options on one platform that’s amazing.
Owfull product with owfull support. Out of box device work poor. Disconnect few times a day. Lost days with installing and deinstaling on few phones but no luck. Also same problems and with xdrip. Their support offer me $10 voucher for new device?? Only 6 months warranty. I bough miaomio which is not ideal but at 100x better and 2x more expensive.
This app (I struggle to even use the term 'app') is complete trash. Adding notes breaks... Trying to search for food types does nothing... Unfortunately this is the only app that I can get the nightrider to connect to. Also I had issues with support from Ambrosia. Would not recommend buying the unit, or using the app
Stopped working after the latest update, seems to want me to uninstall Glimp and Glimp S, the latter of which is what I use to activate my sensors, the BluCon still works fine in Glimp so I'm going to be using that instead. Honestly can't wait for FreeStyle to come out with a Bluetooth enabled version of the Libre sensor so I can stop having to deal with this stuff.
Initially there was some issues with the app because I was not connecting it properly but later I came to know the actual procedure and since then it's working flawlessly. I'm happy with all the features available in the app like alarm, director Apple watch connection, nightscout and many more
Very bad support. After three months it stopped communicating with mobile phone. Very bad support asking to do the same and the same things and they concluded that it doesn't have any problem. I tried it to another mobile as well uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing. Total waste of money
It works fine, but there is one very crucial issue, it crashes a lot and doesn't show accurate readings, calibration readings don't help either, at one point it said 312 but it was actually 267(mg/dl), so please fix these issues.
Since wearing this for over two weeks i am pleased i can manage sugar levels better. The bad is I am constantly get messages of blucon errors and every morning told battery is about to die then disconnects. An hour later is back green 100% again.i followed the use of sony batteries. Other than it is easy to use.
This app IS REALLY BAD!!! When the phone is more than 30 feet from the nightrider it disconnects and will not reconnect unless you go through the setup process all over again. DO NOT USE.
Avoid this product. Support is bad. Latest version still fails to connect with Google Fit
The app is very accurate, though main problem is it's notification system is just a beep when his levels are low or high and not a continuous ringing system which can help you wake up at night and be more aware.
The food insights feature doesn't work it's just for show. After the latest updates now even clicking the food image doesn't work, it just reopens app whenever food image is clicked. Pathetic app after Purchasing such a high cost device
My phone is always crashing on a low glucose alarm. To stop the alarm I need to restart it which disconnects the blucon device from the app. Without this issue this would be an okay app for me.
Review as of 18feb- time and again even after although the month sharing concerns on app issues not developments.. not sure how to get out of this and struck with this app and blucon.. drained my money buying this product. Disconnects very frequently and tough to re connect.. testing my patience all the time . Gets standard response from contact us that to reinstall and install the app. Wondering why no attempts made to fix the issue each of us are facing..
Apparently the libre 14 day system is not supported. Telling people this would be helpful since I just wasted $145 on a transmitter that I cannot use. Update: They gave me an RMA number and I got my new transmitter in the mail today! Works with the US 14 day sensor, perfectly.
The app has connectivity issues and notification fails. If you lose connectivity with the device, no alarms are provided. The battery life indicator is useless, going from 100-0 without notice. The phone has to have screen timeout set to longer than 5 minutes for connecting to the device. The app has to be in the foreground with the screen on to connect. Hopefully the L3 will make this device redundant.
