Honestly, one of the worst apps I've ever used, and it forces you to use it because their service isn't mobile friendly (in 2022??). I say "use it" lightly, as the app is completely unusable in it's current state. "You're disconnect from the cloud" then "we're reconnecting you" over and over and over and over again. When it finally does connect, it asks for a password for my router. I am POSITIVE that I am using the right password, but it says it's wrong, no matter what I try.
Very buggy, extremely slow, and crashes often. Often the screen will just go black forcing you to completely close and reopen the app again. I tried submitting feedback and attaching my logs using the toast message that pops up (asking for feedback), but even that crashed. Ironic, really. The app is very slow, either certain actions must be render blocking or there's poor feedback for the user which causes you to hit the buttons multiple times, not knowing if your button press was acknowledged.
It's been days now with no luck connecting this app. Internet is running great. Accessed the router through it's ip address. Still I'm unable to get this app to connect to my router. Everytime I try to connect the app to the router I get the same message "connection not detected we won't be able to continue with set up until we can detect your connection to the temporary wifi set up". I've tried everything under the sun, reset it multiple times, power cycled, etc still no luck!
Terrible, has been for years. App claims password is wrong, or password needs changing but when attempting to change password app does not actually change the password on the router. Easier to go to the router IP address in a browser and login into router there, don't bother using this app, it is slow, if it works at all.
Can't log into the app after last two updates. All 3 routers keep turning red and not working. I've already called in to customer service and reset the whole system with them. Worked no problem for the last 6 months and then the last 2 weeks have been nothing but problems.
Parental control commands (the main reason I bought my router) are often ignored. Regularly "forgets" device names and configurations. Update: downloaded new version and now can't connect to my router unless I'm on my local network. Belkin has thoroughly ruined what used to be a stellar product. If more time was spent providing software updates for the routers themselves and fixing the cloud and less time slowly destroying the app, you may actually have a decent product again.
Use interface keeps me from turning back on WiFi... The newest version of the app has the overlay for "help" near the "turn on wifi" button. It doesn't look like a problem, but when I hit anywhere on the "turn Wi-Fi on" button, it pulls up the help feature. I can't turn it off no problem to keep my kids off their devices, but can't turn it back on when they are allowed to use them. Please fix this!
Absolute garbage. Cannot access any features that I used to be able to on previous versions, have spent hours trying to find settings that should be easy to find and adjust. Any advice given by their web support tells you to navigate menus that simply don't exist. And any attempt to directly communicate with the router refers me back to this useless app.
App is useless, non-intuitive, confusing and then I upgraded it, and now all I have is an endless black screen. Good going, bozos! I have used Linksys products for decades but will not spend one more cent on their products. I wonder if they are working with SONOS, an equally frustrating system. Velop? More like ker-plop, which is the sound I will be hearing when I toss this garbage into the toilet.
Well, it used to work. It takes 25 second just to get any features loaded. It takes SIGNIFICANTLY longer to get a device list to populate. Changing one device setting is right away. Any more changes & it gets exponentially longer each time. I don't want to even open the app ever but even using the web interface on PC is actually worse. All nodes are hardwired & trying to be accessed while on it's own network.
Doesn't work well. App doesn't load up most of the time. Constantly asks me to login or provide credentials. It seems to require an internet connection to access the router settings which is pretty idiotic. If you lose internet, you cannot even access the router menus. Constantly crashes. Confusing interface with way too many submenus for a few features. Last Linksys router I ever buy. The mesh interface is atrocious and constantly has issues and as of late the app is non functional.
I downloaded this app for one reason - so that I could enable/disable parental controls. However when I do so, it ends up deleting all of my parental controls. Update 4/20/22:. Not sure if the above is fixed, but now it's forcing me to change my password and it won't take a password with the same character in a row. So passwords containing book or 1988 for example are out even if you cover the rest of the capacity reqs. Never seen this.
No longer works. I used to be able to see devices connected etc now all I see is the router name. I then close the app and reopen and it let's me see the dashboard for like 3 seconds before it says there is an unexpected error and craps out. Completely useless if you can not manage or see devices. Pls roll back the update or update it to make it work again.
Initial setup was fairly painless. The next day however, rather aggravating. The app very slow to connect, respond, and add new devices. App would stop, buffer, and even label wrong connection. Just before I posted this review, it stated all devices connected were via ethernet. I have just 1 connect via ethernet. This app has so much more potential.
This app used to be decent but a recent update made this app basically useless. All devices say they are connected to the parent node and some devices that are connected wirelessly show up as connected through ethernet. My internet keeps cutting out in the middle of meetings and I cant even effectively manage settings to make it better. Will be looking for another mesh system that's more reliable.
Love the product and the application! I can control the router while on or off my network. I can set the internet to turn on/off and scheduled times and can remotely turn it on or off as I see fit. Helps me to govern my teenage son's video game time. I can also preset speeds for each device connected. I love this!!!
Just does not work after the April update. Forced me to change passwords and then has never worked since then. Wish I could go back to the older sofware version. Sometimes it will let me sign in locally to the router, but never shows me the devices or admin tabs. I am going to have to just buy a different brand since this thing is now dangerous to use. Linksys used to be a dependable brand, now it is sketchy to use and needlessly complicated. Feel like this is a bait and switch scheme.
So the app works half the time. I have a note8, doesn't want to add nodes to the network. With my parents I phone 12 pro max. A breeze. Created a new email on the iPhone 12, can't find the existing network. Just errors and the only options is to call Linksys for help. Not cool!
Garbage app. Every menu selection will turn into a 5 minute retrieval of router settings that inevitably fails. Want to change any setting at all? Restart your entire system you idiot. Oh now the app can't configure the nodes so you should call your isp, just kidding call our support line so we can reset it remotely. Linksys workers should be embarrassed to have this fielded as a product
Day 1 of having the app: Worked to set up the wifi mesh system but CONSTANTLY freezes/displays only a black screen now that I'm trying to manage devices, etc. Even the first time after system setup, suggested I "go to dashboard" and got nothing but a black screen.
After five years of having a terrible experience with this app, I can't even login anymore through this app or my router itself. It just constantly says can't connect to cloud service. Linksys has truly turned into a garbage company selling garbage products. Going to switch to ubiquiti.
The newly installed router is doing its job and doing it well not to mention a significant boost in download speeds. The app is comprehensive and intuitive, totally satisfied.
Wish I could block inappropriate web sites with just one click of a button,instead of having to enter a list of sites one by one,it will be never ending doing that. I must admit i had stopped using the Linksys router cause it wasn't making since not being able to manage devices. However since the app updated recently it seems to be working a lot better. Sites that i enter to be block stays blocked and I finally sees all my connected devices when i log into the app. Keeping fingers crossed.
