I'm unlikely ever to be able to afford Linn products, but I wish I could pay for this app: it's very nicely done. I tend to use it more often than any of my other (paid) upnp/dnla control points, although if you prefer a different look and feel, bubble is also very good. What surprised me most was that it is a well-developed piece of software from a luxury goods manufacturer, so if you are hesitant to use this because of its origins: don't be.
Linn is a premium brand and manufactures top-class digital players. My Akurate DS sounds terrific now I can get it to work. Unfortunately, to use a football analogy, if Linn's digital players are Glasgow Celtic, this app is Thurso reserves. After many frustrating hours, I sorted things out by installing it on my desktop and working down to my phone and tablet. It's not a great advert for Linn that its premium electronics are controlled by such a poor app; two out of five, must do better.
Extremely poor usability and user experience. This is not what an app should look like in 2021! Most annoying part: App often times doesn't find my device (so-called: music room) so I have to restart and try again.
When it works, it's ok. I'd rather use Qobuz directly, since this app doesn't include all of it's features/info/searches. But, for a free app it's not bad. It crashes constantly though, or has trouble working.
I've been using this App for a long time now to operate 3 Linn DSs and alternate with the Bubble DS App. In general I prefer Kazoo and get helpful assistance from Linn customer if I have a problem. The App crashes far less than it used to, although it can be a pain at times. One thing I hate is that when I go to my Nas selection and into artist, I cannot get the App to sort the albums by year. The info is there as other software can manage it. Please sort this Linn and I'll award a 4th star.
Google user. Doesn't want to connect to the Linn streamer. The app works perfect using my wife's iPhone. This anti-Android issue needs fixed asap. Considering returning the streamer for something that is compatible with all wireless devices not just Crapple!
The app doesn't work on the latest Android on a pixel 4 phone. Terrible experience. I have been complaining for a very long time, emailed Linn at least a dozen times, they don't even dare responding.
This app is a big let down. Great hardware brilliant sound but this app is a big let down. Even on an ipad it often just hangs. Very cumbersome to go back to home page. As if this were not enough access has been lost for overseas stations through tunein , I know this is not caused by linn but they are silent as to when or indeed this will be fixed. I have their klimax dsm and fully intended to buy akudirik speakers no way will I part with my money when they have such a poor customer attitude.t
Since the 30th Nov update the app stopped working, I get the splash screen where it says "just listening" it then closes. My tablet runs on Android 4.1.2 (updates unavailable)
This is the most painful app I've ever used. It's not intuitive like many music apps, it doesn't connect to my Linn Klimax DSM easily or reliably.
This is a very flakey app. I use it with QNAP and Linn Majik DSM. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Software updates frequently make it unstable, really a pain to use. The dealer who sold me this QNAP-Linn solution hasn't been able to fix it either. My recommendation is to find another solution and avoid Linn altogether.
Poor user experience. Nothing intuitive about this app at all. It is hard work using it. Badly designed. However. It does seem to work, eventually.
Never seems to work properly. Fed up having to do restarts to get it working. It's the same on PC. Disappointing support for great hi-fi
Prehistoric music controller! Compared to today's average state of streaming and music controllers, Kazoo is indeed underdevelopped, user-unfriendly and un-intuitive.
Can't get it to work with my Linn system. Very frustrating. Brilliant speakers but useless if you can't play music on them.
Regularly fails to connect to online services. If I knew I would have to be a network engineer to use this software I never would have dropped $4K on the amplifier it supposed to be operating.
App works fine. No issues. I've used similar apps with other brands of network players and this one does operate a lot smoother.
Routinely hangs up. Very poor for such an expensive and otherwise quality audio product. Needs to be fixed pronto.
why is it getting worse? hard to find some rooms now, wont change music sourses always. Linn make great HiFi, but the software is very poor.
Poor app for such an amazing streamer (Akurate DS). Constantly stops working on my Xperia xz2 when using Tidal forcing me to restart it. Generally not a good experience to use. Linn really should get this working better.
Really poor. crashes for no reason. Constantly requires updating each time it crashes and I need to use Bubble DS instead.
Works well with Qobuz, radio, and other inputs. Easy to use, does what it is supposed to. No complaints.
Since recent update my DSM says it can't connect to qobuz as needs davaar 29 or later. This despite it being up to date with the latest software.
cannot see or switch playlists with linn selekt dsm. works with windows version of the app, not Android.
I have had my Majik DSM for about 5 years but all throughout that period I have had issues with the Linn Kazoo app, mainly not connecting and often requiring a power cycle of the DSM unit to fix it. I now mentally prepare myself for it not to work everytime I play music for the first time that day. Once I have got it working it works fine. I know it is the app as Spotify does not have any issues connecting.
