The app is good and stable, but Linux desktop version can't use Bluetooth it seems like it cannot support Bluetooth handler, kindly investigate on that feature, its a necessity to us. Thanks
Making and receiving calls works fine but contact list doesn't work. It freezes when the contacts page is opened. I have around 2k contacts but that is no excuse. Edit: Using a Huawei P20 Lite. Update2: Given the quick response time from the developers and seeing the issue is completely fixed now I feel compelled to update my original rating to 5*. Great job! Edit3: Could the app find contacts by organization too? I see the organization below the contact but searching by the organization name does not seem to work.
Something has changed. I used this for calls away from home, using my home telephone plan. Now it does not recognise my contacts and won't place calls. It seems now to want the recipient to have linphone but it did not before, I simply made calls. Shame. And an explanation would have been nice.
The last few updates including this recent update has broken the function of NOT auto starting the app. Even when I select the toggle to off to not autostart the app, it does it every time I start my phone! Very annoying!
This app.is very slow and does not work all the time. At the moment iam trying to make calls. Open app. It says connected. Then it just shuts down. So frustrating 😡😡
Audio input is persistently at a low level. As if the microphone input is set to minimum. Correspondents complain they can barely hear me. Please test on Android. Thanks, ... Peter E.
After may 2022 update the notification "call running" (the one with hang up button) stays even after call ended. Only way to remove it is app forced stop
cannot call to AU using my provider (PLDT) in Philippines after March 8 update or using wifi connection. only works with Globe or data connection! please fix. I badly need the service for work. or, I have to give up!
Very poor sound quality. Switched to VoIP by antisip and had similar quality to using my mobile provider. Both soft phones were using udp with the same sip provider. Soho66.
It works sort of, you can make VOIP calls but when it comes to dialing numbers or trying to navigate an voice assistant and have to type in a long reference number the keypad is so slow to respond that requests inevitable times out. I have switched to ZoiPer.
This is great app. Linphone Audio call is more good than WhatsApp call. Thanks for the wonderful message and call application.
Nice UI, all features and functions went well. Easy to configure... Really recomended
Downloaded app created account never received SMS though phone number is correct. Can't login to correct the problem
Just updated and suddenly it crashes as soon as a call comes in.
Love the features and concept. One of the few soft phones that triggers our music on hold from our sip pbx correctly. Some issues I noticed is that audio gets very distorted when other notifications are displayed on the Android phone. This is distracting as you can't hear the other party until the notification ends. There is an echo when setting up a conference call and you can't easily switch to other accounts if configured. Other than that, it works.
I have used this app for many years and it works sometimes. However, it has many issues. Including corrupting contacts (dials a different number from the one in the contact, can only be fixed by wiping the app and reinstalling). Claiming to be connected (registered with sip gateway) but actually not being connected. If you can manage to get the app to dial the correct number and connect then call quality is good.
The app operates very laggy on my XZ2 Snapdragon 845. I would like to support a good open source project. But this app is no contest when compared to ZoiPer. Both support call recoding, but only ZoiPer do it automatically for all calls. If call recoding is no important to me, I would be fine with just native Android client. And one more thing, the app on PC is very buggy, that is making it a no go as a complete solution. Their Windows app crashes every single times when hangup, not ready yet.
After reading an article from early 2017 about dialing using a second account (not the default) it is obvious this doesnt deserve a high rating. Switching the default should be as simple as tapping a button. In csipsimple you tapped maybe twice. You didnt have to go into settings. This needs simplification and after at least 3 years they should have provided a solution. So, not good considering all of the other nuisance bugs that haven't been fixed.
5 stars if you add ability to change status in android app (or if I find it later)
The best full featured soft-phone app you may find. The only issue I have is that ICE /STUN option can't be edited or set at all. Thanks for the great piece of software! Did I mention that it's available for all platforms! 🤘
I like it! The best free SIP client I've tried. At first there was too much latency, then I disabled unneeded codecs, turned off echo cancellation and enabled push notifications and all is good. Note: I couldn't get dialout to work after adding a 2nd SIP account.
I used the App on my Samsung S7 with Android 8 where it worked perfektly. Small, fast, all great! but on my Mi A2 Lite with Android one Version 9 it is not possible to access any contact list on the phone. So I have to dial numbers manually which is anoying. Thats why I rate 3 stars as a kind of average og very good on Android 8 but quite bad on Android one 9
Was great until the last update. On a Motorola e5, as soon as the app starts my Bluetooth earbuds quit working in ALL apps. I have to disable Linphone on boot & restart the phone to get them back. A dealbreaker for me, unfortunately. Been using this for years. Need a replacement now. Switched to Zoiper. Not happily.
I had a horrible experience with Linphone because of dropped calls due to bad codec handshake. Certains calls would always fail unless I had ONLY 1 specific codec selected. Codecs cannot be ordered by preference and equally apply to all SIP accounts and all connection types. Everything else seemed to work fine.
Thoroughly surprised, my other SIP provider and Zopier were unstable at best, every call has some through with Linphone, calls that I would have missed, and my other VoIP carrier supports forwarding to a URI. I had paid for Zoiper until March and they decided to lock the app. Every outbound call has had superb audio quality, interface is clean and simple.
Was working nice till the latest update (around 23/07/2020). Now I cannot call via mine SIP provider: at the moment the other side starts to answer, the application crashes and restarts. Hope the bug will be fixed. Now switched to another application in order to be able to call via IP telephony. Mine OS: MIUI 11 on the basis of Android 9. Smartphone is Xiaomi. SIP provider does not accept any encryption.
On the Android version, If I tap Contact, it shows two chat icons, one with green shield and the other without. If I tap one without green shield, the app gets frozen. Why is this? Very annoying this needs to be fixed. Also chats do not seem to synchronize with Mobile app and PC desktop (Linux). Hope things will be improved.
