It certainly functions for me, unlike for many people who've reviewed this app poorly, but I do have some criticisms. One is a general one about all of Google's Creative Labs projects—they need to follow the Material Design aesthetic if not an entirely different one, as Desert Island does.

It doesn't work. If you select a photo and press the video icon it crashes. If you select to take a picture then to record the video, it never plays.

Didn't work at all, tried to create multiple pictures and they just disappeared into the ether. I installed immediately.

The app only let's you add your lips to the bottom half of an image. I wanted to use it to create talking cartoons.

It's a fun little app, but out of the many short videos I tried to make, only 2 saved properly. Some of the others show up inside the app but can't be shared (says file size 0.0 MB) and some never saved at all due to the app freezing up.

The app gives me a top red portion and a bottom image that's squished. I'm using a Galaxy S8 +. Waiting for an update. I wish the review section would include a feature to upload screen shots. Horrible app in it's current form.

Very cool idea and I have some creative ideas to make some vids that would be educational and entertaining. Needs share to other apps not just hangouts. Oh yeah, share to hangouts doesn't work.

it used to work great but now it is compressed on my Nougat Note 8 like so many others are complaining about. I know it is an experiment, I just hope it is still of enough interest to the developer(s) that it gets fixed.

App used to work OK, now I record a video, and the mouth doesn't move, you hear the audio, but the video is a still photo. Garbage app needs to be repaired

A. G. u. Aug 5, 2016

I haven't used it yet but A for effort. Great idea and I'm sure it will work with the s7 edge

Mic. L. Mar 13, 2016

Does audio first then when it's done the lips start talking... Needs a tune up. Galaxy S7 edge

It crashed my Nexus 7 2013. And it doesn't work as advertised on my Nexus 4. Work much better on Nexus 6P.

I'm not that old, really I'm not. But I remember watching reruns of old kids shows from what for me was the previous generation that had a painting or cartoon with human lips. This is interactive nostalgia at its best.
