Realised after years of using this app, I never got around to rate it. Easily the best spoken word & audiobook player. Music based players don't really work with longer format audio. Everything is here - the interface is simple and friendly giving just what you need without any clutter. Fans of spoken word productions need this - I've tried many similar apps but found myself always coming back to this one.
This is by far the best audiobook player. I love it so much. Unfortunately, I have to still use the much inferior smart audiobook player as it has the option for endless book loops and chapter loops. I need this for my purposes. I really hope this review can convey both how much I love this player, and my great desire for the developer to add an endless loop function.
Excellent simple app. I've been using more complicated audio players and they all did far more than i needed. I wanted something that would play long Audio files, bookmark them, with a decent simple in-car interface. This does it all. It also kicks in immediately on Bluetooth when i start the car again. Excellent
Update... Thanks for responding. I never use sleep setting but may have hit it by mistake. Will update rating and retry. Previous.... Usually it works, but has an irritating propensity to randomly stop playing until I move my phone (pixel 5a5g, Android 12). If I flip it upright, e.g., that might get it restarted. Sometimes it happens over and over again. Does this make even the slightest but of sense?
Please fix this issue in remote button control via bluetooth earphones, whenever a notification sound prompts the short backward button wrongly works instead it forces to move short forward, fix this issue in future updates.
Best audiobook app by far. feature rich and reliable. thanks!!
Good App. It does what I hoped for: slowing down the audio without distortung it. Also, a surprisingly high number of options. Good value for money! Minor issue: It considers files in a sub-folder as one complete audiobook, I found no option to change that. But adding this folder as a source dir adds each single file as a book, problem solved. Minor issue: I'd wish for a UI which feels more modern (think Audible). The look and feel is a bit too much on the nerdy side of things.
This is my favorite audio book player, however it recently starting crashing on my android auto equipped vehicle. I'm not sure if its specific to this vehicle because I've used it in the past with rentals and had no issue, but now it crashes after about 2-5 minutes. Other then that I love it, especially the automatic sleep mode features set by time of day and the fact that I can configure it to automatically rewind when the sleep timer goes off to make finding my spot in the morning easier. It's my go-to app. I wish audible's player was half as good.
So far, so good. My only very minor complaint is that it doesn't seem to allow you to skip ahead in the timeline with Android Auto. You can't hold the FF button either, instead needing to tap it over and over to move forward in 15 second or so increments. This is all moot if it remembers playback position though, so nitpicky. Great app!
1. 4.7 average review made me buy this but its not working well for me. The issue is that it doesn't play when I tap the triangle icon The only way I can get it to play is by tapping the sleep icon. Is there something in Settings I need to enable? Generally, I find the Settings menu difficult to follow... it's not written in plain English... seems to be some kind of 'only experts in this type of programme allowed here' language. HELP 2. Developer replied... very quickly within the hour "The default behavior is a tap anywhere on the background is play and pause. You can change this behavior in settings - interactive controls - gestures - press. So make sure that setting is set to play pause toggle." 3. The outcome is that it took seconds for me to correct the issue and the app now works well. 4. Nonetheless, I still think that the descriptives on the menu could be improved to make it easier to navigate for non-tech people like myself.
This is THE 6 STAR audiobook app I've been looking for. An excellent audio reader platform, easily the best I've found on android. One question for the developers; as the app syncs to my Google id, is it possible to sync across two devices ? This would mean I could pick up on my tab where I left off on my phone. If it already does, I must have mine set up incorrectly.
App is great as usual, BUTTTTTT. It doesn't shut down. I pause it, and the notification doesn't go away. Deleted and reinstalled, same mess. I hate errant notifications. Please help! Edit 4/14/20: I've adjusted the settings with both the "X" and swipe features. Both dismiss the notification, but it immediately comes back. I've even messed with the time to close after pausing option. Any other suggestions?
Long term user and very happy with this app. Reads every file type I've thrown at it and love the ability to tweak the playback speed, for those sloowww narrators out there. If I could ask for one thing it would be more history. Current book history is good, but I'd like to look back over time and see what books I've listened to and when.
I like it, you can pick up where you left off on another device, the rewind time is the best it let's me keep listening without having to rewind it myself to remember what was going on. the only thing missing is the ability to rescan your folder for new books when you add them to an already full library. I don't delete my books when I'm done I leave them in case I want to re-listen to them.
After using many different audiobook app I settled with this one. It's the only one that has good UI and bookmarks that sync to the cloud. The only thing I did not get is dragging left or right. It should allow two levels of moving in the audiobook - inside chapter and all over the book. Every time I tried it for slight adjustment inside chapter it just jump to completely different place in the book (because you have to drag down first, which is imprecise and catches left or right movement).
This is by far the best audiobook app I used that plays DRM free audiobooks. It has so many options and the only app that able to sort my books correctly the way I like. Only big minus is the look of the app needs to be updated. It's not material designed. The looks need some serious updates. I will change the rating to 5 stars once you update the design.
I think that part is now fixed. Thank you! I would love to have these 2 features if possible. I don't think they will be too difficult. 1) I should be able to edit the name of the chapters in the app itself. 2) If I have an audiobook that is just 1 big file. I should be able to split it into 2 parts where I like. So at the end of a chapter I could click a button and the player now split the file into 2 (before and after the current tracker) This will save a lot of hassles for everyone.
