This app is an excellent, must-have app for all musicians! Well worth the price. I've been using it for years at practice and at all gigs. The graph is a great feature. One request for additional capability is I'd like to be able to save the graphs. Sometimes I'm told my drumming was too fast/slow at certain parts and a saved graph could settle any arguments! One more thing- the developer is a fantastic, responsive person. I had an issue once and he replied immediately to help me. Great app!!
Not sure how well this works with other instruments but I'm a drummer and this is a fantastic tool to have. I often use it during live performances. I purchased a phone clamp that attaches to my high hat stand, where it's in easy view and out of the way. When you count off the beat to a song it registers the BPM within a just few seconds of playing and I'll just look at it every now and then to make sure my tempo hasn't fluctuated to much in real time. It really helps to keep you in the pocket.
Works great, I use it a lot while practicing with band and on gigs and it is much better than classic metronome. I play mostly jazz, I often slow down or speed up and this helps me a lot to maintain same tempo without having to have earphones with clicking metronome. Don't expect that it will show you actual tempo precisely, but the most powerful feature is the graph, where you can see your tempo trend right away with quick blink of your eye.
This app is tremendously useful both in a group rehearsal setting and for individual practice. I highly recommend this app if you need real time feedback about tempo maintenance without having to use the "tap" function on your metronome. Syncopated rhythms can throw the app off, but I find that it's mostly accurate.
This is a great app. I don't usually pay for apps but this is so worth it. Really helps me pull back and not freight train a song. Split screen would be quite helpful so I can have it next to the music instead of using 2 devices. Metronome? Maybe that defeats the purpose? Still, I would use it if it were there.
Fantastic app! I tried several other BPM apps to automatically read out BPM's of my hip hop vinyl records and none of them worked - not even close. The only thing that worked was to manually "tap" an app to count BPM - that is certainly not something I want to do. liveBPM worked immediately and it's FAST. Within 4 bars of most vinyl I tested, it knew the BPM. Perfect for setting up my records before a set to put them in BPM order. Money well spent as it saves me tons of time.
Great app, used it for the first time at a gig, helped me keep consistent time through the set. Rest of the band loved it. Helps keep the natural rhythm and feel of the song better than trying to keep time by metronome/click.
Would be 5 stars but...after using it twice in a day it comes up a blank screen when trying to open the app. I even tried a force close. The only thing that fixes the issue is a restart of the device. I am an android user on the Samsung Galaxy S9 plus. This happened on my previous device as well.
Works with entire drum set, you start playing and it reads out the BPM after about four seconds then you just glance down at it once in a while to see how you're doing. This is a must have! Even recordes a graphical display,. The first time I tried it after about 5 minutes, I looked down and I was rushing about 6 BPM I couldn't believe it! I checked it against a metronome and it's spot-on. After about an hour I could stay within one BPM after 10 minutes playing. Easily worth 4 times the price
Just wow! I spent half an hour trying to get the BPM out of a song in Serato DJ and it was failing I even tried tap tempo,And that was failing as well, and then I turned on this appp and Wham it started to work within seconds. It could have saved me half an hour of frustration. Once again kudos to whoever developed this
Seems to work quite well. Didn't realize it was landscape orientation only. On gigs, I mount my tablet in landscape mode, but use my phone in portrait mode (for set lists). Please add portrait orientation option.
The interface could be reworked. An addition of delay times in ms would be great too. Never the less it is the best working app of its kind. Most bpm apps offer only tap tempo not recognition.
This works really well even with the inbuilt mic. Easily picked up the beat from an accordion/violin combo, in a venue with a fair amount of background noise. Now there'll be no arguments over dancing tempo...!
This app works great. I was struggling with my tempo. I had no idea I was fluctuating up and down. This app tells me real-time what my bpm is. It saved my gig! Its well worth the money spent and I highly recommend it.
Picked this up around 2012 and event though it was last updated in 2017, it still works on my pixel 4 with current Android. Very dependable and worth every penny.
I use this app for drum practice, very useful. I would love if it could be used in split screen mode or a floating window over other apps.
I really depend on this app and hope the dev updates it for the latest Android version. It still works, and hope it stays current.
Awesome app. Would be nice if you could enter a target bpm and have the color change if you're too fast or slow.
Downloaded on suggestion from a fellow on You Tube. I tested with professional music on a stereo. Fluctuated so much it would be of much value for my practice or band practice.
Like app but too bad you can't use in split screen mode on a7 tab.
The five star rating is how well it worked with earlier Android versions. While it gives you a warning that it may not work with current Android releases, it is terrible now on my Google Pixel :-( hope it is upgraded soon!
when I first saw this app I pretty ecstatic, however as I used it my thoughts on it changed and now i'm like eh it's ok. this thing tends to have a slight delay on. Even with the few flaws it's still a pretty good thing to use as assistance.
As a dj everything I play is by BPM. This app is rock solid and gives a graph of the speed of the music over time. Amazing app. Worth every penny
Aleays reads between 98 and 128 bpm. no way to change its range of detection. no options at all. if u only work in 98 bpm to 128 bpm its a good app
My music teacher told me to work on my timing. I thought my timing was fine. LiveBPM gives me an objective way to measure my tempo while practicing. Played a few measures for 3 minutes and the graph was far from the flat line that would have showed perfect timing. My music teacher was right. But now I have a tool to correct the problem; being able to measure and graph my honest playing tempo. Even though this hasn't been updated recently, it works beautifully on Android 11 One-UI 3.1.
