Live Transcribe

As I have a fair amount of hearing loss & constant Tinnitus, I was hoping this app might fill the gap. Unfortunately, it works in situations where I don’t need it and often doesn’t work when I do need it. For example, if there’s background crowd noise, it will pop up ‘crowd noise’ even though I can still make out most of the words of the person talking.

Excellent accurate and speed time for a translation of speech to text, even though it is not reliable from a background noise and depends on network to active. If translating is stop or stuck in idle, you can just easy swipe all the way to refresh the transcribe and it is work. Very strong reliable app for itself for the most everyday conversation and meetings.

Superb app that works so well. I use it daily when chatting with residents in care homes. All of whom have hearing loss and dementia. This saves me writing everything down. Having the ability to increase the size of the font is very useful too. Only snag is I can't save the text or export it to another app, which would be really useful in other aspects of my job.

I could swear this app used to work for phone calls too but it doesn't seem to detect phone call audio at all - I've spent a Lot of time trying to find what I thought would be a relatively basic app, but none of them transcribe incoming and outgoing calls (preferably free (with ads) or if it works good i would pay as long as the price wasn't super high. I tried contacting your company, but I just really hope to get help with this as soon as possible. Thank you for all this app offers. LB

I'm a professional and my gut tells me that the core algorithm of this software is pretty advanced! The recognition is very smooth, the disadvantage is that the function is single! Not sure if it is open source software, looking forward to the release of more feature-rich software!

NEVER types all the correct words I'm saying about 85% of the time. Time wasted having to check & correct, so might as well have written it in the first instance thereby nullifying the apps main purpose. Time waster not saver.

Most of the time it is just patience coupled with commonsense and that makes a difference to whether you want to use your phone to its full potential which is the way the world is now, and or you stay a Dinasour and there is no end of technical support out there that are willing to do their best to assist you. Most of my learning has been learning from my mistakes and wearing my glasses and using the pens designed to make pressing the buttons or whatever you are doing more precise. Good luck all

Two things would make this 5 stars. One, they need to make it less easy to add a second language. You accidentally add a language almost ant time you minimize the app. Two, live caption has to introduce itself at the beginning of a call and you miss important info from those annoying attendents. Those items resolved and I'll give it 20 stars. For a deaf person Live Transcribe is a real life saver! Thank you Google. Pun intended... With a little luck this request WILL fall on deaf ears!

Sir, it's very useful one as I am a senesoneuronal hearing loss person. But it needs improvement as it needs not to speak fast. When multiple people speaks which is common in any gathering it fails. I request increase in speed helps as a person can see who is speaking even in a group

It's simple and awesome to use, needs some tweaks though like copy, sections, and stuff for better management. But you can always use your note app, I guess.

The app isn't bad but there should be an adjustment for sensitivity of people talking. I have to be very close for it to work. If there are people in a room that are 4 or 5 feet away, this app has a hard time transcribing. In fact, it doesn't. Then it picks up in the middle or end of the conversation. It would be a great app if you were able to adjust the sensitivity and pick up more sounds.

woow doesn't expect that. this app is pre installed to my device . And got an update few days later , so I used to try it . It can catch the more accurate sounds , As example I give some type of whistles of birds and songs ,it gave the correct results for that . amazing work 👏 😍🤩

This is literally the worst translation app.. ever. It does not translate anything but English. Even if you're speaker is talking directly into the microphone, it won't detect anything. Yes I've set the language and yes the microphone is active. It's just trash

This app was mainly created for Deafies. Everyone knows that T-Mobile are actively sabotaging Sprint customers illegally after the merge by forcing them to change the SIM card and then providing zero (very slow, if any) Data service randomly everywhere. I use this app at work a lot, but this app has a serious flaw that the Devs refuse to fix. We must have Internet access for it to work! Many times, when I need to use this with customers and coworkers, it won't caption, cuz of no cell signal!!!

Amazing app. Not only transcribes but also adds punctuation. Very helpful and very close to accurate. It gets a few things wrong but that's to be expected. Overall it's amazing what machine learning and AI is capable of achieving and this app is a testament to it.

Sounds notification is not very good. Needs polishing . I knocked once on door, it sent an instant notification but when I do it again after few seconds it can't detect. Seems it detects the noise after some time after detecting it once.

The pop up on my main screen is so annoying. I have the app set to of, but if I go anywhere near that the app pops up. Usually when I'm playing a game. I even tried to uninstall, but I couldn't do anything except to uninstall the update.

Icon not showing anywhere on my Android phone so i can't use it unless i do i from the play store. Not even there for shortcut icons. Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus. Edit: Icons and shortcut icons are now visible after latest update. Phone is now complete. Thank you. 👍👍👍

Edit. Now 5 stars for live captions on phone calls on my Pixel 6. Kudos but needs more. This app would really have something if it could transcribe live phone /video calls directly but it can't. Hope developers can add this plus add all the other requests for improvements in these reviews.

I depend on this app for my AA meeting and didn't realize it stopped working because my internet data ran out and I needed to have wifi signal available. I thought it didn't require internet to work like my old phone. Going to cancel this phone prepaid internet service and get my old phone back from my closet but I need to get my old phone fixed for cracked screen. God bless. Easy does it.

This app doesn't work hardly at all. Continually starts and stops. I'll gladly pay for one that actually works. This one doesn't. Complete waste of time trying to get it to work correctly.

As a deaf person, this app is essencial... Please make it easier to delete conversations/texts & allow for quick clear screen. This is important when trying to communicate with multiple people.

It has helped significantly, especially working as a journalist transcribing Ukrainan interviews since the 24th of February, and then translating it afterwards. I wish you good development in the future. The app is amazing!

Pretty cool idea and app. Live Transcribe for the spoken word but also for listening for certain sounds then having your phone notify you. Fantastic for the deaf and hearing impared. It is useful also for heavy sleepers who don't hear anything while asleep. Try going through an entire day with ear plugs and over the ear noise canceling headphones to simulate being deaf. You will get a n enlighten view of living in a such a drastically different world.

How do you get the floating toggle switch for this off my screen. I want it to gone! I bump it and it starts talking in a weird loud computer voice It's in my screenshots when I went ahead a button it prevents it because it's either right next to it or on top of it It's annoying as hell and I don't use it I don't think I just want it gone off the front of my phone and every single screen that I'm click on to it still right there at always

Works wonderfully to communicate with my grandmother whom is almost deaf. HOWEVER whilst I was able to download English on my phone (to use offline) and i the bought her a Samsung tablet and am no longer able to download the language on this new tablet. As she doesn't have wifi it negates it's usefulness. Why can we not download languages anymore?

I'm half deaf and this app is extremely helpful. It was very accurate and almost every word was correctly transcribed. It was real easy to use and I will definitely use it more in the future.
