An HSA or Health Savings Account is a personal savings account for health expenses. HSAs are owned by individuals (not employers) and can be transferred from job to job or institution to institution, similar to a 401k or IRA. Contributions are 100% tax deductible (until you reach the federal limit) and HSAs have triple tax advantages (tax-deductible contributions, tax-free interest and tax-free withdrawals for medical expenses). An HSA is not a healthcare plan, but can (and should) be used in conjunction with all high-deductible healthcare plans (HDHP) in the US.

As far as financial apps go, this application is fast and very consistent. I've never had any issues. The apps of insurance companies could take a lesson here.
Like a lot of apps not fully functional and another way for a company to track your activity more easily. Deleting it since it can't accomplish what the website can.
I can't upload the receipts even though there's a button for it. Update 2.16.22- You can upload receipts now, but it takes forever to transfer money over. It takes at least a few days to transfer over, then it will show that there's a balance in lively and it will have been taken from my checking account but it's not "available" for yet another couple of days. This process takes far too long. I want to pay my medical bills.
While this app sounds good in theory, it is ridiculously buggy and not worth the 'glowing' reviews it has received so far. For instance, you cannot adjust your monthly contribution through it, which should be a basic action. Sure the option is there and you can adjust the numbers, but you never get the option to submit the changes so you are forced to use the webpage instead. If you have to use the webpage to manage basic account functions then what is the point of downloading the app?
New phone lost set up to auth app and now I can't log in without calling. No SMS option or anything else. A call?? And I have to wait until Monday?? Stealing car keys isn't a good way to prevent speeding. Quick call to resolve, but come on..
Works but can be tedious. Biometric security should be sufficient to enter the app rather than having to also complete an image verification. It takes to many clicks to get to basic functions like pulling up pending expenses, submitting contributions, and submitting reimbursements. Categorizing an expense should be an option during expense creation rather than only after the fact. There should be an option to submit an expense paid outside the account without having to transfer funds in and out.
Lively may not have the clout of some other HSA providers, but these folks do a great job making a great option for those looking to get started. I feel like there are only a couple of things that you need the full webpage to do versus the app alone, yet I feel like including those things would create too much clutter. The app gives me the exact amount of detail and control I need to manage my account on the go! If you have an HDHP and want to save money for medical purchases, give this a try.
I sent my HSA rollover to these guys before Christmas. They go through fifth third bank, so it needed to be sent direct to them. Here we are on March 1 with nothing done. I contacted customer service twice. Once they said "it's an 8 week process" and it had already been 8 weeks. Then again and they said I needed to contact where I was rolling over from. They're incapable of keeping track of checks for new accounts. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT HERE.
App: clean, simple interface. Easy to review HSA purchases, find eligible items, and submit receipts. Service: Easy onboarding, no reportable issues for the years I've used them. Have referred a friend or two as well! Just be mindful that you need to qualify for an HSA via a HDHP to even be able to sign up.
Hands down the best HSA administrator! No fees and great investment options. This app is perfect for documenting HSA receipts; simply snap a pic with your phone and upload it. I just wish you could type the date of an old expense, rather than swiping each month for years to reach the proper date.
Stay away. Should not have thought of trusting my important finances to a startup. The HSA account transfer process is a blackhole. They don't notify progress over email or through push notifications. And finally send a very cryptic message saying that they cannot open an HSA account. I liquidated my HSA investments for nothing. My advice to users: stick to established companies for something as important as your HSA.
Won't work because my device is rooted? No other app complains about this. I can access my bank apps, crypto apps but my HSA is super secure that I can't access it. And what's with requiring a code every 15 days? Again, unnecessary military grade (?) security. Update: My device is rooted. I'm just frustrated that this is the only app that has issue with my device being rooted.
Was working great till Android 12 update. Now the app force closes whenever I try and open.
Update: Devs contacted me telling me about not being able to login. It's case sensitive for the email, as a developer I would respond with...WHAT?! You don't make the email case sensitive, it must be unique in everyway, meaning in every case possible, if you have a check for case sensitive input, stop, run lowercase on it and verify that the email is unique, you DO NOT validate case sensitivity otherwise your saying someone could have my email as a login by changing the capitals around...
Changing my amount withdrawn from my check is not working correctly
Pixel 6 Pro - app just crashes. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and no luck :/
Works as intended now. Developers fixed and updated an issue the day after I reported it. 👍
New update crashed the app. Can't open on pixel pro 6 now

Uninstalled - Couldn't even log in while doing the case sensitive version that works on my browser. App simply doesn't work based on other reviews. Don't bother with it.
What is this miserable log in experience? Data format not accepted? Listen to this random audio so we can determine if you're a person?? Nah miss me with this app It's 2021, almost 2022 and if you haven't figured a half decent app by then I'm sorry you're going to have a bad time. Time to find a new HSA provider
Contribution (adjust) button immediately closes app. Tried to reopen several times then it thought I was a bot because I kept reopening the app.
App used to work great, ever since the "verify your not a robot" was added to desktop browser version I haven't been able to login.
First ever Lively app. Not baf for starters. Seems to be able to do what you can do online. Pretty good.
This app stinks. Signing in is always a nightmare. Have to use a PC.

Should have a landscape view option. Really, that is basic. Features present on the full website (e.g., ability to view/change beneficiaries) are missing from the app. EDIT 26 APR 2022: Lively responded within a day. An additional star for that! Let's see how long it takes to get a standard feature (landscape view) added.
