Liverpool Echo

In my opinion the standard of journalism in this so called news paper is in freefall! Other than sport, the few serious articles are either poorly written or seem to have been copied and pasted from external sources. Clickbait headlines, also poorly written, lead to stories of very little importance. I strongly feel that a serious rethink of the business model is required. I'm close to deleting the app and that will be yet another loss of clickbait revenue. Liverpool deserves better!

A lot of obviously lifted articles. Some from other regions and even other countries. When Liverpool addresses are not given in the article it's a giveaway .

App gets worse every update.. Used to be easy to read etc.. Now keeps freezing etc...

I like the interactive comments its good to have a say..but recently its annoying to read a story but the picture attached which is usually an instagram pic is not uploaded!!??.. i have to close Echo App and open Instagram to see what its on about..particularly the pics of clothing! No good if i cant see what to buy!! But my hubby would probably disagree!🤣🙄 pics please!!..how???

Only really use it for the football. The standard of journalism is more miss than hit. Serves a purpose to some extent

Very informative and a good read. Since my free local newspaper (St Helens Star) was withdrawn, lt has been difficult to access local news.

The echo is spot on with the news here and abroad also good celeb news on the dot. I can't fault it on anything it's excellent. M.hall.

App keeps crashing really frustrating to be honest. Have deleted the app and reinstalled it but it keeps crashing. Waste of time having it, not a happy bunny.

Adverts popping up everywhere, I click on a headline and end up on another article somewhere else. Page jumps around too much and the pop ups it all. Makes me just not bother reading anything as it's such hard work. Half the page is taken up by click bait links and "Liverpool residents don't scroll if you don't want to miss out on this".

The reporting used in this app is absolutely atrocious! Every story is drawn out and contains nothing but repetition of the headline followed by the same quotes from various parties printed with equally excruciating repetitiveness in paragraph after paragraph of utter drivel! Poor standards to say the least! Can't take anymore of this complete and utter pathetic drivel written by absolute cretins!!! DELETING FOR GOOD!!!

even though the contents is good, the app itself is unreliable. Freezes .not give you the News on notification, saying not available. The app has improved a lot, but new format and background when opening can take a while to open.

It takes about 3 attempts to open. Always slow to load stories and, quite often, is a totally different story than the one on the header. Really needs sorting out.

Whether good or bad,the Echo provides the latest news at the end of your finger tips...thanks Echo

Much improved , and soon shows the stories mentioned in notifications. Remember to tap "new stories available" Some older tablets and phones may not be able to accept the new improved version

The app is ok the level of journalism is shocking at times.

Used to be a good read, considering its supposed to be a 'Liverpool' paper, hardly any articles on Liverpool always, Widnes, Skem, over the water, gone rubbish. far too many ads when your trying to read an article.

they allow people to make comments on topics, then they dont. Then they do...you get the picture. The adverts are designed to infuriate you for some reason. I wanted to watch a 2 minute long video, there were ((((5)))) 1 minute adverts all the same and repeating themselves every 10 seconds, i honestly couldn't believe it. How the hell could online media possibly be allowed to be so bad? I'll never read the echo online ever again.

Despite numerous requests to enable comments on posted articles nothing is forthcoming.

Way too many ads. Some news stories are almost unreadable because of "interactive" ads. Also too many non news stories about TV soap programmes. Because of this I use the app as little as possible.

the app is ok but the editing is questionable. very vague with some of the stories and fill in the gaps with their own version of events. also riddled with adverts which is very difficult to navigate around.

Great app to keep you updated in Liverpool

As an LFC fan I downloaded the app to read the latest LFC news, as viewing the website in a browser on my tablet can be difficult due to the amount of ads that affect performance. I accept the newspaper has to make money so no complaints there. However having downloaded the app I am unable to view LFC news as I can't add football news without being forced to register. I've now uninstalled and will continue to use the website on my tablet or PC
