Living Room Corner Bar Ideas

If you are the type that enjoys entertaining your friends and family members in you own home, chances are good that you have always wanted to put in a bar somewhere. Chances are also good that finding the necessary space has been a hindrance. That can all change if you choose to use nice corner bar furniture.
Almost every house has an unused corner some where in it, right? Yours is probably no different. If you can find one near the recreational room or the kitchen, then your search is even better. Her is where you can build in a nice little cocktail lounge right in the comfort of your house.

Of course, the counter must be considered first. You can get shelving installed, or do it yourself, that will accept tile, marble, wood, or what ever you prefer. And you can get it put right in that otherwise unused spot. The space that will be way back in the recess is perfect to place a blender in, or an ice machine, or anything that you can use that is tall and slender.

Do not neglect to use the space above the counter, too. Here is where you can easily install racks for glasses, bottles, and other necessities. This will also help to keep the space below clear for what you really want, and that is room to entertain in.

With some ingenuity and designing skills, you can make the hypotenuse of the triangle the actual face of the set up. Here you can set up the stools you will need to make the whole thing look authentic. You may have only room enough for three or so, so make the most of them and get something really nice for your guests.

In the rest of the room, perhaps you would like to keep going further with the theme. You could install some booth type seating arrangements along the other walls for a fun and interesting look. If there is plenty of room in the middle you can add a pool table, or Foosball, or something. With some wood tile and a disco ball, you can even add in your very own dance floor.

The possibilities are fairly wide open when you are going to put in your own home cocktail lounge. By using the often unused space, and some nice corner bar furniture, you could host the greatest parties in the entire neighborhood. At the very least you will have a great place to have over a couple of close friends.

Many people tell me how lucky I am to have enough room to be able to have a bar in my own home. While, I admit that I am fortunate to have the room, no one should let the lack of space be a barrier to enjoying a home bar. Here are a few bar ideas for the spatially challenged.

A full sized Hide-A-Bar
- This is about the size of a large armoire that would double as a closet. These can be closed and look just like a regular armoire. However, when they are opened up, you'll find up to 8 shelves in the doors, a 22 bottle wine rack below, plenty of spots for glassware and a counter to mix your drinks.

A Corner Bar
- Here we have a cabinet built into just the corner of a room. Corners are frequently wasted space. Instead occupy the corner with a bar that isn't very wide but goes from floor to ceiling.

A Bar Cabinet
- This resembles a typical buffet table. However, you have additional shelves and specially designed areas for glasses and bottles. This is one of my favorites. It's very easy to just roll this in to some unused space in the house. When it's time for a party, you just bring it out, open the top and you'll have a home bar all waiting for you.

A Portable Bar
- Here we have a sleek cabinet that unfolds to become a full sized rectangular bar. While the space for storing bottles and glasses is limited, this does become a bar where your guests can sit around and drink. When not in use, it makes a great plant stand.

A Globe Bar
- These are seen in many movies. Typically found in a study or den, it looks just like an old world globe. However, the globe opens up and several bottles, glasses and even an ice bucket can be found.
