Liyla and The Shadows of War

It was short, sad and emotional. I was just looking to play something like this which would get over quickly so I don't care about 20 min length. Even though it was not exactly a game and was story-driven, I enjoyed it a lot more than in actual game. The music score in the background plus additional sounds actually scared me. It delivered a good message despite how sad the ending was.

Deeply moving, and uses the medium of the sidescroller in an innovative way. Missiles appear with no warning, a mechanic that would be frustrating in a normal game, but here is used to great affect to allow the player to intuitively understand the uncertainty and danger of traveling while under siege. Would recommend watching the documentary "Ambulance" by Mohamed Jabaly, about civilians living through the same war.

Don't go in expecting a game cause it's really not a full game. It's more like a short story designed to get across a powerful message. The dialogue isnt great and the game feels really short, but the music is beautiful and the actual story is too. I think the message is really important. Whoever made this didn't do it for the money, they did it out of passion.

I downloaded Lilya because I enjoy the Black and White, Indie type games. To my surprise it was not at all THE GAME that I thought I was downloading. Yet...unexpectedly so much more! The story set up as a GAME is a brilliant idea and should be shared around the world. I believe it would be very educational and a wonderful teaching method for ALL ages. It should be considered as a way to enable learning in the educational system!!! Spread the word!

This is hardly a game but by no means is it bad per se. It's more like a 10-minute interactive story told using visual styles similar to Limbo.

When I played this game it touched my heart. I realised that war is nothing but disaster for innocent people. This game is really capable of best games ever. This is small but explains a lot about humanity and brutality. I hope those who died of this war they all are in paradise. Nice gamplay with a nice graphics. I love this game.

I always liked the black and white games or something like that, that's why I downloaded this game. Once I played it though, I was really surprised and the people that died made me really sad. The saddest part for me is when the 'souls' were going up. When the information at the end showed I teared up a lil. This is AMAZING

Little incidents in the game provided a lot of meaning. The music coerced my emotions into feeling what you want your players to feel. The gameplay was short, but it was enough.

....I didn't think i'd be able to finish the story. That was hard to swallow. Hit me to the core having a daughter myself. I...I don't know what i'd do, that experience can only be described as "Hell". Amen to you and Thank You for telling this story, it was more powerful then words can describe.... I've always said movies and books are good ways to tell story's but turn it into an interactive game is a Great way to tell a story. Thank you again and God bless.

A very nice, short, and simple game. The point was to get a message across and it was done wonderfully. The mood, music, and message of the game was all great. Don't expect long game play, but it's worth it.

The game is made to raise awareness, abd i get that. Very sad and all. But it shouldn't count as a game. i was expecting an adventure or a dramatic story but all i got was a tutorial of what could be a full game. The name is missleading. You'd expect to at least let her be on her own at some point, but it barely has anuthing to do with the girl. its good and all, but the name is falsly advertising a full game.

This game was super sad, but very interesting and educational. Even tho it was short. It was pretty cool. The only thing was if you loghed off the game. You'd have to start from the very beginning. But overall. very awesome. I hope you make more games like this. LOVE IT

This is the saddest game I have ever played It gave me creeps, goosebumps and Wow I liked the endings about the souls going up I nearly cried, it's a very small game , maybe 5 minutes of gameplay . But the message is so , so deep , I bet it will touch Everyone's heart . Please play this for one's it's the best message game .Thank u Develops , please make more games like this . Story based with big , deep messages I had no idea about war and staff , now I know it , it's terrifying

This game is so sad and when I watched the ending it was just really sad and that was terrible all those people All those kids I know it's not a long game because it's not a game it's a story and a very sad but when the souls flew up in the sky it was beautiful this game is just wow its style definitely reminds me of a Limbo type game but while I think limbo is more fun than this while this game isn't a game it's a story and it is wonderfully told from the eyes of the girls father I recommended

It has emotional, gripping plot.. but the gameplay isn't enough to make you hooked. Aside from the sad plot, the gameplay really doesn't stand out.

I was absolutely floored by this game. By far the most significant mobile game experience I've had, beyond what I thought might be artistically possible.

It was good, it almost made me cry to be honest. And i felt really bad for those boys who are playing at the beach. (Sorry i don't really know how to speak english so please bare with me..) Overall, i give it 5 stars. I love this game. Though it was super short. But yeah, i really liked it.

Immensely emotional. A short journey into the heart of real world problems. An experience rathen than a game. A must-play.

The game is good also the story is good,but the game was way too short. So I have a suggestion,can you make a game as same as this using the story of other survivors?thats all over all the game is 10/10.

love the story even though I can't tell if the story is actually real or not because of the comments and rating. that I will have to research. But either way this story moved my heart and hope people also have the same affect as me :) also I'm right-hand and this game is on left-handed so I hope you fix that

The No.1 greatest story game ever played, but also a short one.Looking forward for the second one.And it also shows the true view of the world today, and what's like to be in a war.

Could use updates to extend the gameplay time and fix the dialogue; It's a little short, but really enjoyable nonetheless.

It's a great idea to take game as a plot of mass consciousness. Great graphics, great control, but the story is not to be taken as a fun. Almost made me cry.
