Local News

This is the most ideal news app for anyone who wants to know their local news. It is daily, you can choose different ranges of miles from your own area, and it is full news...not headline teasers. Also this app actually works, even in my old Note 2 android, for goodness sakes. I like this app, and recommend it to anyone wanting their local news. It is free, no hidden costs. No subscription needed. Thanks heaps, staff!!

Notifications open the app, but do not lead to mentioned article. Once the app is open I'm unable to find the article mentioned in the notification received. Aside from that, I quite like this app. It brings me news from a wide variety of local sources, as well as broader news about my state. Very efficient as most of the articles aren't posted anywhere else or are difficult to find. Would definitely give 5 stars if the notification issue was fixed.

It is a terrific concept with good layout, and choices of distance from where one lives, but whenever I try to use it there are only listed headlines & no write ups when I click onto any, so I don't know what's even going on concerning that particular news.The app is ideal in that whoever installs it can read all the current local news of their own home area even if it's a small rural town unknown to most people.Most news apps are of major cities. I'll delete app if it doesn't improve.

It seems to have been improved, I recently installed it, and it actually had news articles to read. Overall, it's the best app for localized news, and you can choose the various mile ranges you want to read news about, from your area. It uses alot of MB, but most news apps do.

Excellent app for accessing local news. Obviously you do get the odd advert but they are easily skipped. The layout is clear and simple. All in all I like it.

Does what it says, local news. Goes from very local and spreads out from there. Starts at local district, out to "Town". Out to nearby "Towns", then County and so on. Probably better suited to "Older" people but could reveal something of interest to anyone. Give it a try. If It's not for you, you can delete.

Pleasantly surprised when I stumbled across this app. This app allows you to read through all of the daily & weekly news publication in your area! You can add other locales, if you looking to read about news in area you grew up in, or your family lives in or an area you are looking to move to! The app needs some fine tuning, but It's minor, as you're able to access so many local news outlets. Sadly, currently there is no IOS app by this developer that I can find. All in all this app is great!

Having several sources aggregated is useful, as is changing the radius from 12 to 44 miles. Adverts are the necessary evil but are often very intrusive, which isn't necessary and has led me to stop using other sites. TBD.

PineNuts is definitely doing something very different here, yet not. Hard to explain, but really innovative! But to see that, roam around in setting up the app and the cool stuff will reveal itself. The best way I can explain it, is that if you're a fan of the old style "Google News Reader" app, this is the next evolution of that. But being the great developers these guys are, they have, IMO, done it far better than what Google did by completely abandoning the format in their new version. Check it out. It's worth your time! :-)

Just got this app a few weeks ago. First news app I go for every day. Like the fact that its local especially in lockdown. Still first news I go for. Very good.

Clean interface- only a few sort as. I like the way the articals you have read are shown as a different colour. So simple, but a nice touch. This app is a keeper.

I like this app alot for following local news. It needs a dark mode to be perfect and maybe some visual updates.

About time 😊 all I have to say is why did I have to scroll so far down the news catagory to find this app, this app should be right at the top,, as a daily new user just waiting to see how many adds are involved, but as of now I can only have positivity about this app (update three days in and now unistalled I don't mind ads on the page like usual but the unclosable pop up timed adds take over your whole phone and that's where I draw the line.) Has catagories: news within 30 mi, within 70 mi, Dear Annie, highlights from 2-3 local news station, updates on the Browns, and local papers according to your location. They bring up fresh news regularly and I have been very impressed by the selection and the fact, unlike some others, no holding news for a $ subscription. 5* definitely.

Best I have found but not perfect! Can't traget a city only a radius. Can't pay a fee to eliminate the intrusive advertisements!

Can't trust. I don't see how my feed is populated and I can't find enough info about the developer PineNuts. No thanks for something as important as my news.

Great app. Keeps local news and events at your fingertips. Dipping in and out at convenient times is great.

I like using this app, I find it very.. convenient..to be able to keep up with the news from..my hometown and that general region..

Almost every page asks me to turn on location and update my privacy settings,maybe I am missing something but I have already refused the cookies so why keep pestering me to reset them each time ? I have switched off location request by selecting don't show again box but still have refuse spy cookies each time I open a page.

Finally,real news and VERY FEW ADS!!! though if the ads get worse as it's about right at the moment it's uninstalled so don't creep in and become unbearable!

I like all the news reports , however, I would like reports on all the road repair, and opening and closing of highways. Store openings and closings would be great.

I always look for Local News because I trust it. News written briefly and in a simple understandable language. I love it!

Not Local news. Living in NJ suburb of NYC, it is very easy to see news about NYC. I hoped that this app would focus on NJ news, especially news about our municipal and state news.......not! On another app I read about Covid 19 cases in my own town. Then I went to this app and after scrolling through the first 25 or so articles, all about NY, I found some news about other towns in NJ, but none about my town, even though my zip code is used for searching.

This app is simple, easy to use, there are ZERO stupid racist troll comments unlike other news apps. The articles are actully about REAL news that's going on in the world and in your area. Other news apps are filled with horoscopes, and click baity gossipy articles that belong on Buzzfeed or Cosmopoltion magzine.

Useful app, but would like to be able to choose which newspapers to see. Distance doesn't always equate to relevance.

At last a Local news app that gives me exactly that "MY LOCAL NEWS " I love 💘 it . Instead of taking me to the nearest place to me with news that I'm not really wanting, it actually takes me to the places I am wanting news on. THANK YOU DEVS FOR THIS APP. x

It's good to be able to see the news in the areas my family live and also my local news here at home. I do sometimes find it difficult to open up the stories so I just read the headlines I can see.

It is a great app to see what is going on around in your local area and very convenient for other users if you are abroad or on the move all the time.

So far, so good. They don't capture all the local news but they try. The ads are annoying but needed since it's a free service.

Best news app yet for me! I don't really want just local news but all the other news apps i have tried all suck and have problems. So far so great!
