Cool app. Could use more channels though....... It would be nice if you added where when you turn your phone sideways, it would go full screen. Kind of hard to see it on the way it is now

The app is great, however, the video codec is really bad. It requires about 4Mbps. That is about twice the bandwidth required for streaming high quality HD video from YouTube, Netflix or Amazon Video, but the quality is not as good as it should. For mobile devices, bandwidth could be an issue. I would like to see a better codec bringing more quality with less bandwidth.

has a few of my local stations -- really independent stations and a lot of español stations. but also has a kpop tv station which is a bonus. this app is a keeper. thanks.

I don't understand why there's not. Disclaimer that no major networks on his pp can be seen yet. There's no reason for me to keep his app if I don't care to watch all these Noname networks. Waste of time!

Excellent App & Service with a with a decent DVR! I only wish it had more of the major local broadcast networks, but it's not LocalBTV' s fault that they don't have them. It's the major broad cast network's fault. They'd never allow their stations (which are supposed to be free) to be viewed for free (except if you can get the stations free over the air with an antenna of course). A lot of people are out of range though.

This is a wonderful app and even though it does not have the major local channels, it has some channels that I enjoy watching. What's more is that it even includes DVR for free which I have been using to records some shows that I enjoy and be able to watch them at my convenience. I am in New York City and though I can easily pull in local channels, there are some channels that I have not been able to pull in and because of this app, I am able to watch and enjoy Azteca America New York which i am unable to get over the air and my provider does not carry it. I do not think that DVR will remain free once major local stations are carried on here or even if it will be free at all so I am very much enjoying this while I can. If you enjoy a wide variety of programming and are looking to possibly get channels that you cannot get for one reason or another, I highly recommend this app especially for the free DVR that is included.

(UPDATED REVIEW) I'd like this app more if it had Chromecast capability (and the RewindTV subchannel), but otherwise it's a pretty solid app. UPDATE: Contrary to what the developer says, after checking again I can confirm that this app DOES NOT support Chromecast. I did as asked and e-mailed the developer over a week ago but did not get a reply.

This app does NOT have all the channels in my area, especially the .1 channels.

Ehh. Wish they added more local news channels for my area. Which is Cleveland.

I'm sorry I'm writing this on LocalBTV, but I've been trying to reach anyone about the Clippit app for over a year now and haven't heard back. Will Clippit ever go back to HD, it's been at 360p for well over a year now. Also will any new sports channels be added? Also, this week the app doesn't let me go back to the previous show, is that gonna be fixed? It's a GREAT app, hoping those things are fixed. Thanks for your time, hoping to hear back soon.

Scam cannot see anything cannot recognize any channels. I have frame TV. I'm in the states. So not really a local option. Also it can only be seen if your in that area you want to view. It should say that. Zero stars

Supposedly this is to be like Locast was. I've just installed it on my Roku Stick+. Granted, I've only used it for less than an hour so far, but I'm not really impressed. There are no actual local big networks (yet?) And the grid it pitiful. there's no reason for me to not put up an antenna in the attic and actually try to get some channels I'd want to watch. Aside from Cozi and Antenna TV, there's really not much on it to offer, at least to me. I'll keep checking back for improvement.

Only has independent channels. No ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, some local PBS. Update 7/29/20: Problem appears to be related to DNS servers. Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 doesn't load videos, but default and Google DNS do load. Previously 1.1.1.1 loaded videos fine. So a recent change screwed up DNS entries. 7/1/20: LocalBTV app is broken on the server-side. Get error message saying "This station may be off the air or you may be experiencing network problems." Tried to troubleshoot the problem by reinstalling app.

I LOVE THIS APP! I've been using this 4 a yr + & love it! Yes it needs ur email+zip, WORTH IT. I live in an area of Az that signal bites. Using BTV + Chromecast; I'm able to watch clear tv from/on my phone, table, or computer. I love having 24hr Christian programming again without having to rely on cable. I would love to see Smile of a Child, Sprout, SBN & Daystar? No it don't have the major networks YET, but a decent variety. FREE DVR! Can't watch outside your home area unless is a recorded program. However, you CAN program the dvr outside your area. This is the reason you must allow your location to be on. I would add multiple search features 4 recorded shows, instead of just by date Which makes it a pain to find old shows to delete or My recorded movies. Ex: by name, type, date etc. Keep up the great work BTV. I look forward to the growth.

I understand they can't just pick up where locast left off, but I was expecting more than just religious channels in the Houston market. Especially since they were claiming to having deals with the retro channels and such. In texas you have almost nothing to offer. Update: despite the constant email spam telling me my region has local channels now. The line up remains unchanged. The app has promise, but it's poor guide design and current lack of programming are a still a big issue.

I'm giving my rating for the service itself as four stars based on what I'm getting on my fire TV. Unfortunately I can't sign in on my Google or Facebook accounts. I also can't find any way to contact you directly on this and fixes the problem. I really LBTV and if you can dodge the legal hurdles I think the service has great potential.

10/5/20- I did contact the support team, and they said it was a perplexing problem and did not fix it. 8/31/20- Deleted app because it does not work using my data plan. 7/29/20- I can only use this app through WiFi now. 7/15/20- Is there something wrong with the app? Can't view any channel activity. Locast is working fine. This app has channels that the Locast app doesn't. So I have both apps.

It's wonderful to have an app that provides some local channels that my expensive antenna is unable to receive. Hopefully more stations can be added in the future. I had a technical issue and customer service was helpful and able to fix it for me.

In the bay area its great for people speaking languages other then English. Imo the only English channel worth watching is Kofy tv20. My guess is; channels owned by larger affiliates don't allow their use, still, I wish ion, channel 36, or tv 44 were available. Requires location to operate to ensure your in target area without licences bought. Roku app works well.

Just downloaded. So far so good. Interface looks like Pluto Tv's. I watch some of these stations over the air regularly. My tv was out of commission for several months until we could get another. This would have been a great replacement short term. Also great if you want to catch a show when you're out of the house. I wish more networks would make their over-the-air stations available.

This is an awesome app, I'll give it a total of 5 ⭐'s if you can get DAYSTAR(50.3), ME-TV(56.3), COMET(56.4), THIS(56.6), CHARGE(56.8). Most of all DAYSTAR because it's a total chronic bufferer station to begin with(but it is a really good one, and it's worth the effort👍). The fact is that "LOCAL BTV" is by far the best local TV app available today anywhere(and trust me, I have tried them all).👍... Has no local channels. Just a bunch Of junk

Here in the Phoenix area it only offers non-network channels. And just a few of the independent channels. I wish it had the big networks, even the long time local channel. Hopefully this is fixed soon.

I think there should be an option in the settings to change local TV markets (example: switch SocalBTV to San Diego BTV) for people on the go crossing from a county to another county or crossing from state to another state to keep everyone entertained on the go because once you cross into another county or state the app will stop working depending on the location.

They want MONEY 💰 for our LOCAL TV STATIONS. They call it "ECSTORTION" I Hope you all pay attention to BROADBAND

I have one local station. The rest are from another country.

I works. A little clumbersome on an nivdea shield. Progamming is lacking. Mostly the numerous local station that are over the air minus the big networks. Not really an option unless you want some background noise.

Great service. Mostly use it on Roku, but seems to work well on Android too. Only wish we could mass delete episodes saved in our libraries.

Phoenix area... This app does work perfectly. Unfortunately, due to licensing I'm sure, they only have a few channels that are for entertainment purposes only. The rest of it is Spanish channels and religious channels. This app does not have the major broadcast companies such as ABC, NBC, Fox, and CBS. For me, it's worthless cuz all I want to do is watch local news. :(
