Logical Defense

Steel yourselves, and begin to defend your mind from the language used against you by the sophists of the world.
They are many, we are few, but with the Logical Defense app, we now have an extra tool in our box of rationality. Use this app to quickly look-up the logical fallacies we face when debating against the irrational. Call out those who are logically flawed and help to build a more rational society.

Honesty is the first virtue, so let's be painfully honest towards those who attempt to use language as a form of mental abuse. Never accept a logical fallacy, attack the attacker, and spread logic and reason to those you love.

Ok, enough rambling. This is an app that displays a list of the logical fallacies that haunt every rationalists' mind.

Some features:

- Left drawer that houses categories.
- Share function -> Long press a fallacy to share it.
- Nice about screen.
- Language selection function.

This is a fully open-source project (GNU v2), and the source is hosted on GitHub so feel free to fork me :)GitHub Repo: https://github.com/LukeStonehm/LogicalDefence

Feel free to leave your comments/suggestions. Thank you for downloading!

UPDATE: 28 Nov 2016 -> Thanks very much to everyone who has downloaded the app, I have seen an incredible uptake in users over the past few weeks. I will soon be on leave, and I hope to add some new features soon :)

There's really not much here other than a few pages of content with different fallacies and their descriptions. It is helpful as a reference, but many web pages have the same description. It's all good information, but just not worth an "app".

It's a nice reference guide that provides good examples for each fallacy. Only getting 3 stars from me because: -There aren't any features outside of a basic list. It would be nice to match some of the provided examples to the correct fallacy to test for understanding. -Some of the fallacies provided are given new names unecessarily. For example, "Appeal to Spite" is this apps name for the "Ad Hominem" fallacy. This can confuse someone interested in a deeper study/ rehearsing what they know.

This application is truely thorough!! It has helped me numerous times to provide a direct example and explanation. I would also like to add that I appreciate the time and effort that the developer(s) put into providing this application FREE to the world!

It provides clear examples of logical fallacies, it not amazingly interactive so truly learning and applying them is difficult but it's an excellent start.

Doesnt really do anything but tell you what some things are, not sure what to call them. Describes beople biases I guess, or rather the type of information being used in an arguement and giving an example. One such from this was "appeal to authority" basicly just telling you what it is and giving you a small example. Nothing to useful. I was hoping for something where I could have a calm debate with other people about various subjects.

Thanks, great app! Do you think it could be possible to introduce a push-notification function that would, let's say, send you a random fallacy and it's explanation every day?

The app is useful if you know how to use it. Knowing these tactics I have won many debates. I personally reccommend it for knowledge is power.

Awesome, the quote generator as used by Trump and his mob.. with translations for cerebrally lesser damaged people. Thank you for your service, this is a light in very dark times. :)

Absolute necessity for people who practice logic and reasoning. I make it mandatory for my team to read it before working with me. In that way most illogical discussions are gone.

I deleted this app as soon as downloaded. I study Philosophy. I thought it was good an app but it's not rich enough. I'm sorry for my review, but developer, you have got to make your app better. I might someday revisit your app

Idk I hope it's not any trouble. I was looking in Google play for a good time filling game and the description of this spoke out like truth. To me it did. Excuse my Grammer please.

Today, with the leaders and the media we have, it is necessary to know your fallacies!

'Appeal to authority' is not solely based on an "unqualified or untrustworthy" expert; it's an appeal to ANY expert.
