Need to update your apps.
It's a shame there are no more upfates for this .
My Duet controller sees the player no problem but this app can't. Turned off cell service so only using same WiFi connection as the controller still nothing. There is nothing else the app can do. Just a refresh button that doesn't do anything. Using kit Kat 4.4.4 on moto G
It had its problems (sluggish at times, a bit basic and uninspiring in general) but at least it was functional. Sadly, this is no longer the case as the app appears to have been completely stumped by recent Android updates. With no sign of a fix forthcoming it looks like the third party apps are the way to go now.
It works okay, but does not display album artwork at all. The fullscreen now playing shows a black background. The album index screens show broken image icons. The only real advantage over the Squeezer app is that Squeezer does not update Now Playing properly and requires refreshing manually. So far, SqueezePad for the iPad is the best Squeezebox remote I have found (besides the web interface on a PC). It would be nice to find an equally good app for Android.
The other controller apps use squeezebox media server, which means that you need to have a computer on all the time. This one controls directly but does not work at all on latest version of Android. Makes the system useless to me.
Been using this app for awhile on multiple phones and my Nexus 7 across multiple versions of Android. But Google pushed out a maintenance version for Android 5.1 (Build Number LMY47D) on my Nexus 7 last night, and the app no longer works. Won't connect to LMS, and doesn't render properly on the tablet.
Nice but, frustratingly, random albums are missing from lists, even tho they are fully accessible on the player itself, or web server, so I know they're there. Sometimes wipe and re-scan make them appear but then new ones go missing! Buggy. EDIT: no longer works. Have grabbed an alternative free controller.
Works at a basic level -- connects fine, offers most of the functionality you'd expect. My biggest issue is that it doesn't deal well with large playlists, at all. Takes forever to display the list, and sometimes just fails to do so. And don't even try to scroll down the list -- it takes forEVER.
It does not work for several android versions already, just a black screen and nothing after that. Tried reinstalling after several android upgrades (now on 8.1) still the same issue... I tried on several phones also. Squeezebox on my iPad works fine. And the iOS equivalent of this app also works fine on both iPad and iPhone. Logitech, go fix this app.
This is a great app, but just stopped working recently once my phone and tablet upgraded to 5.1. Please fix the app, summer is coming and I love to control my music with the remote. Update - you need to update your Squeezebox to the UE interface and install the UE Smart Radio app and it works.
Used to work very well, but now can't see local Squeeze Server. No menu appears after touching menu button. I see this was a known bug a year or two back. At a loss to explain why it has returned, rendering the controller useless on this machine.
It is possible to get it to work on Android 5+ but you need to open the apk and add a piece of javascript into the index.html-file. Then re-pack, sign, install and 'voila' the app works again. However, you will not be able to install updates from play store after doing this. Add this before loding other javascipts:
The basics are there, but unless I'm missing something it's not good at creating or managing playlists, nor at showing additional info available in Logitech Media Server (such as comment tags). Working out what to long-tap to insert a song into a playlist to play next took me a while, for instance. Touching the song clears the playlist and plays it - not always easy to avoid with an accidental tap. But overall, not bad
When the app first loads, it presents a screen of legalise. Also a warning, or something, about being in Landscape mode. I have the device (Galaxy Tab 4) locked in Portrait mode. But nevermind, the legal page loads in Landscape mode anyway. And there is no way to get to the bottom of that screen to accept the terms or whatever, because it won't scroll far enough down to see any buttons. So there I am, looking at the legal words, and unable to get past them. A bit frustrating.
They discontinued support of the squeezebox line and this app. Other available squeezebox apps (which are way nicer looking and feature rich) sometimes don't work on newer versions of Android, because they are no longer maintained by their developers (basically, they followed Logitech's lead out the door).
Doesn't connect all of the time, is constantly saying it can't find my Squeezebox. After rebooting my Squeezebox multiple times it will finally find it and stay connected until I leave the house then when I get home I have to do it all over again.
There should be an icon of some sort when viewing the current song being played that shows if the song has been saved as a favorite. Also, it takes 3 clicks and about 10 seconds to save a song as a favorite. This is too much. I should be able to save a song in one click.
Have been using this app for a long time. Nexus 5 & Nexus 7 updated to Android 5.1 yesterday and app no longer connects to LMS, with rendering issues on screen. Waiting patiently for fix - this app is gold in my house where it lets me control 4 SB Radios.
Everything works great except you can't save playlists from the app. It gives you a search button instead of an enter (same thing happens with my wife's Lenovo). Other than that it works just as well if not better than my Touch's screen and it makes navigating my radio easier.
Most recent version hangs on the free your music screen. No error, just does nothing. Tried it on two galaxy S5's with lollipop in a house with one server and two radios. Squeezebox remains an awesome system and there are fully functional third party apps such as squeezer.
App no longer works on my Nexus 7 tablet running android 5.0.2. Opening screen comes up and then it hangs there. It worked great with kitkat. Most unfortunate that Logitech gave up on integration with Android OS...I guess I will need to investigate a manufacturer that is attentive to the market like Sonos or Jongo
This was by far the best squeezebox controller and one of my more used apps (much nicer than the remote that came with my squeezebox server with similar format). Please fix for lollipop and you're back to a five star rating.
First how could you let a great product like the Squeezebox go un-noticed by the balance of mankind ! ? a Good Defense rolls to Great Offense. I need you to get a body on fixing this App ! Lollipop 5.0.1 has knocked it out. This was a very heavily used app by myself. Great for searching for podcasts news and music. You need to reboot all efforts on this ! And Thank you.
Been using this app for quite a while now and loved it up until recently where a new software update was installed on my Galaxy S6 and found it to no longer work. Once that issue is fixed it's a really handy and a great app for all squeezebox owners!
The performance of this app is just horrible. It doesn't adhere to Android design principles. If you are scrolling through a longer list (artist, albums) it becomes so unbearable slow that it's faster to boot up the laptop.
Doesn't appear to work on the Samsung Galaxy S8.. I've used this on my previous mobile devices and LOVED it, but now it seems to not work. It looks like I need to quit using Logitech devices in the future (too bad, because they used to be the best).
