Several annoying features, including having to confirm you want to exit the app, and removing the ability to check the departure and arrival times of earlier trains (this was useful when you are on a train that has already departed and want to check when it arrives). Not really designed for usage, just to tick a box.
Since the latest update im glad that it now supports multi-leg journeys in the live departures but there is a bug and it's a seriously Big Bug. I went to plan a journey and it lets you change the date and stations etc as normal but the results are the for the last journey I looked at before the update. This morning I checked times for a service next week and the results were for services from yesterday for a previous journey. No matter what changes, the results stayed the same.
Overall a good app, a lot more efficient after the recent updates. Just one bug, when u touch the my-tickets button on the top right corner, there is a refresh button on the next screen at the same place. If u press the my-tickets button twice by mistake, the refresh button is also touched and then the interface just gets stuck on that revolving refresh button. Pls could you look into this.
My absolute favourite train departure info and journey planning app. I'm using it (and it's WMR sister) all the time. It's the only one where I can click on a station and jump to departures from there. Very useful when checking connections! One glitch that's crept in though. When clicking in a train from London (any London stations) it only seems to show it's departure times from its first stop outside of London! Uh?! Can you check this please?
Etickets are good but take far too long to access from front screen and are in a stupid order (most future dated ticket at top?!) Book a ticket option has 2 different interfaces - one after you've booked a ticket already is great, one beforehand has annoying date picker which doesn't work at the moment for booking tickets (Dec) for next year (Jan)
as good as the train company. i only use it for claiming refunds but it barely works. usually takes 3 attempts, full of bugs e.g date pickers dont scale for non standard font sizes, ticket details don't save. i don't know what it is with train companies but they all seem to hire very poor devs.
An absolutely awful App! How you're supposed to download the tickets to your phone so they can be they sent to other travellers phones is beyond me! You get stuck in a 'perpetual loop' of notifications which never allows you to actually download a ticket - useless!
when I installed it, was great, synch with all my tickets was fine. After two weeks some tickets were missing from the App, despite being available via the website. Uninstall anf reinstall didnt work. Shame as when it worked was fine
Who is this app designed for? LN management who what to cram as much rubbish as possible onto the screen to justify themselves? Have you identified your personas? Do you even recognise that the majority of users want to see very specific info on the page as quickly as possible eg your biggest user base is surely the daily commuters who don't want to spend 10mins clicking multiple buttons (waiting for screens to load at a snails pace) to see key info (train times/delays). Clearly no UX time has been invested into this shambles of an app. The Midlands app was very very basic, but leaps and bounds ahead of the LN app. This app is barely usable. Shameful!
Very slow app. Not particularly user friendly. Goes back to home screen if you switch to another app, rather than staying on the ticket page.
going for a business trip, I thought it would be a good idea to get the app sip I don't have to get a ticket printed. however, the app doesn't loaf my ticket even though I have the booking reference on email. is pretty useless, because it looks like I must now pay for another ticket.
Terrible app. Nation Rail app is better for train times. It's awkward to buy tickets. And weirdly it won't let you add the dates a season ticket is valid for when applying for a refund due to one of the regular delays to the service.
Clunky, slow, difficult navigation. Assumed that you always need to buy instead of just needing information. The old London Midland app was much better.
Awful app. Didn't synchronise my recent ticket purchase through my account in spite of numerous reinstalls at the recommendation of their customer service. Tickets just wouldn't appear in my wallet... Customer service is also lacking.
Doesn't work. Tickets sometimes appear in the wallet, other times not. One day it will show you only expired tickets, or just your return journeys. Most of the time it won't let you download your tickets even when they are there. Like the rail company itself - hopeless.
don't use it! I had to pay twice for my season ticket because I selected smartcard but the app wasn't able to add the ticket to the wallet. Waste of time and money.
Bottom of the icon bar at the bottom of the screen is obscured and cannot be seen clearly... difficult to judge rest of app as can't really use it.
Doesn't work. I bought a flexible ticket using the app as you need to use the app and phone to top up a train card. App didn't register I bought the ticket so can't top up card. Luckily I have email prooving I bought the ticket. It's crazy to implement app usage for our not to work. Madness
Not bad to buy tickets and check trains. Interface is a bit bizarre; what's with the current time bouncing left to right once a ticket is activated and please use standard abbreviations for month names, e.g. Feb for February (*not* Fby) and Mar for March, *not* Mch)
Doesn't work. Bought tickets off their website. They state you can download there app and use that to store your tickets... And it doesn't work. It doesn't download my tickets and has no sign of being aware of my booking.
This is apparently the only way to buy a flexi ticket. And I can't buy it, because the app is broken and it's not possible to enter origin station or destination station. I conctacted LNR support about that but they didn't respond.
Highly user unfriendly. Impossible to make contact with anyone at London Nortwestern when there is a problem.
Was working fine until last week... now I'm unable to open the e-tickets in the app. Please fix this as I don't want to use a paper ticket and downloading e-tickets from email is time consuming.
Works worse since last update. Crashes often trying to call up tickets. Really very helpful for ticket inspections or crowded barrier gates. STILL no Google Pay passes support, only apple pkpass support. What have the Dutch got against Google anyway??
Utter rubbish, overun with popups to the extent it renders the app unworkable. All in all a rubbish app that reflects this rubbish train 'Company' with it's Magical Mystery Tour approach to travelling from A to B perfectly
Okay app. does what it needs to. Too bad the trains and customer service for the company is utter rubbish. Probably why the app has no option to make complaints as they know the service is diabolical.
Doesn't let you create an account without buying a ticket. I just wanted to link some tickets already bought on the website. Where the account creation tool also isn't working...
This must be the worst app I have ever experienced. On 2 separate occasions I have spent over an hour trying to create an account and book some trains. Too many bugs in the system I suspect. In the end, I used the website and obtained a code to pick up tickets at the station instead!
