Longman Advanced American Dictionary

The dictionary is highly recommended for those who study English. I'm not a native speaker and benefit a lot from detailed explanations this dictionary offers. As an app, ads are so annoying. Is it really necessary to play a video for looking up a word? I'd rather pay some money and disable ads, but I don't seem to be able to do it. Also it should give an option to make it usable offline

Advertisements are tooooo many, much more than normal for a non-free app

Hands down the best dictionary experience I ever had with an app 👏. Meticulous explanations of the words combined with the best pronunciations available in the market. Plus you also get additional etymological references with very well crafted example sentences for each context oriented meanings of the same word. I wish I could give 10 starts!

Please add Dark Mode to whole app and whole screen.

It looks striking in design, color and comprehensiveness. The only hassle is the ads. Also it loads and open slowly.

The app was good but sometimes I had trouble with it and now it dosen't work, 2 times I crashed the history of searching then App worked, but now I crashed the history for third time and unfortunately it doesn't work again

I like the way the words are displayed with parts of speech, etymology, uses of words in a sentence, and thesaurus. There's also talking pronunciation.

You might try to add a backup option. The only "backup" I can make now is taking screenshots of my vocabulary to search and save the words after I re-install the app =))

Why your app is not identical to paper version of Longman Advanced American Dictionary? For example: compare "Visceral" in the app vs. Paper version. Paper version seems far. Please make your app match the paper version. I would give it 5 stars if that were the case.

this is something good but takes more time to open. very slowly works .it needs speed up .it should be made offline. if net is slow, it doesn't work.

Great content, but many audios just don't play, please check it out! P.S: On the paid On-line Web Version of this Dictionary all the audios work perfectly 😌

Best dictionary i ever used. after using for a few days, i am so satisfied with my experience that i even wish they have an offer for removing ads by payment. i definitely will be pleased to pay for that.

It is absolutely a good stolid app. But, it mostly crashes and a blank white page pops up. Please, fix this issue.

User friendly. Easy to read. Love the color highlights. Word Pronouncing and phonics

*Looks stupid and weird.* almost like other American dictionaries (Mac Millan and Merriam Webster Contemporary): 1- 'Literature': no such a thing literally and by etymology. You cannot understand both 'literally' and 'literature' at once with such shallowly deceiting entries. 2- 'Story': A story is not a description of an event. Stare, Store.. H'istory.. So what is a story?: A stylish storage providing an abstract observatory by/into phrasings and logic; a construction not a sole description.

It's a bit slow when you're searching a word but quite useful and helpful.

Very detailed explanations but it seems the audio doesn't work all the time. It would be so much better if I could hear them speaking.

Very useful, this is what I can make the most of it. I used the longman Advanced Dictionary Of American English when I was at University.

I have used it for a long time , sometimes comparable with cambridge in definitions and examples but generally the best !!!

it has lots of annoying ads also doesnt have search option by academic or more common word or sth like that and it is not offline.

Garbage! Fonts are too small on my tablet. The dictionary is too limited. Idiomatic expressions and slang words are not included. No backup. No offline version.

This is a very good dictionary, that helps me to enhance my knowledge in written, reading and spoken English.

It is very useful and enjoyable dictionary. Thanks so much for this. But sometime it doesn't play the sound.

I would pay the premium version if there were not many words audio missing and offline feature missing

It is a good dictionary. But sometimes I wait too long for pronunciation, and then it doesn't work.

If you really want to build up structures of the language in your brain this app you help you gorgeously
