Keeps crashing, I have to reinstall. The phone screen locks itself, and when you unlock the phone the app start playing the background music so you need to go back to the menu...
Android app doesn't really work. Used this on an iPad and it was great, but on Android it doesn't play the music along with songs, doesn't give you credit for completing checklist, basically does nothing.
App gets stuck after user screen or if I can get it to the tuning screen, very buggy, have to force stop and restart app to get it functioning to do something different. Lessons are easy to watch but the other functions of the app freeze, tuning, songs. Looking forward to a fix or update to prevent freezing.
We got a Loog in October and it seemed to work well with the app. Now I notice that the app is not recognizing chords as we play them. This is quite frustrating and diminishes the value of the Loog.
On Android its not 100 percent functional. Yesterday I installed the app and took a guitar lesson. Today the page with lessons is just blank. There are no lesson available now. Is this a bug or how do I get lessons? The songs page is just a lil monster with a guitar. If you tap the monster it just whistles. How do I get songs to play along with within the app?
The Loog mini is awesome and the app concept is promising, but it does NOT work. Such a bummer. The game component of the app is what motivates my 4.5 yr old to play. He loves to tune the guitar and try easy chords but then he just wants to dress his monster. That's great! But the app is not properly awarding points for all the actuvities we do on it so we can't "afford" the new, fun items. It's so frustrating. We've unlocked some songs, but they get locked up again when we get back in the app.
The tuner doesn't work at all, even though other tuning apps work fine on my phone. The game is a phone game, not even using the loog. Since the app apparently can't pick up audio correctly it won't let me play the songs because you have to demonstrate that you can play the cords correctly before it will unlock the song. The only thing the app is good for is looking up chords.
Very disappointing! Could be such a great app, but way too buggy. I don't get any coins for any completed tasks at all, which means that I can't unlock new songs. Screen doesn't stay on like it should for this app, Songs are buggy. Haven't even tried everything in this app yet, but since basic functionality is lacking and it is just too frustrating, I will have to find another app. I really hope you will give this app an overhaul, because I would really like to love it.
Overall, a disappointment, from guitar to the app. The app does not quite recognise the chords one need to unlock a song, so the game is an exercise in patience rather than guitar technique. During a song, there's no way to see how long do you spend playing a chord, so again, instead of playing along you just wait for a change. Not awful, though, just meh.
App crashes when you try to do most things. Laggy when playing the games so it thinks you fail when you don't and ends the game. Can't play any songs - just crashes the app. Never get credit on the daily checklist for doing things. Went through the 7 lessons - is that it? Not very intuitive - I can't figure how everything works. Directions would be nice or suggestions on what to practice. Feel like I spent a lot on a guitar because I thought the app would really help. I've gone looking elsewhere
So much potential but poorly designed from a software standpoint. What that means is that the app would be great if it didn't lag and sputter (or just crashing). I would love this app is it did what it set out to do without all these behind the scenes hiccups. I want to mention that I'm a software developer with Android experience so I know when it's just poorly written software.
The tuner isn't accurate: it wants every string tuned (almost) flat. Even when I tuned it successfully (by putting the guitar out of tune) the achievement wasn't recognized in my son's tasks. None of the chords can be unlocked since the application doesn't recognize a properly tuned guitar, ditto the song achievements. Not much use in an app that won't reward my son for playing properly. Just a source of frustration for him. Great potential in the app but the execution is awful.
Still Bad with updates. Duelling is often wrong. Very, very slow. Best start again. 6 string tuner does not recognise Low E. Unlocking song does not show last chord and often doesn't recognise chords. REALLY! Did you test this app at all? Text running behind buttons, little on screen help, the last of the on screen chord cards needed to play a song not showing and playing the background app music over the top of a song playing! And thats just in the first 5 mins of using the app...
Poorly designed app. - It's just too confusing, with too many things to click and no obvious method of progression. The app needs one set of simple lessons that had practice tasks afterwards-and one you finish your can move into the next lesson. - the video lessons are too hard and move too quickly - No way to perminantly set the app to left-handed mode (that I can find). - drum machine does not loop correctly, there's silence at the end of the loop. Has anyone tested this app??!
Tuner will only work for 2 of the 3 strings. And when you try to change the monsters clothes it only always pops up the guitar color selector regardless of what you press
I really want to like this app, it looks so promising and a great way for young children to learn about a musical instrument. However it is so buggy - we can't access lessons, or chords at all and literally only thing we can do is tune the loog itself which has been very frustrating for me and my child.
Many bugs Google play store with Samsung tablet. So far works fine on iPad. Frustrating since the app was a factor when purchasing the loog guitar.
Tuner hard to use. Doesn't recognize chords when we play them. Very frustrating for me let alone for my four year old. App based lessons help to sell the guitar, big disappointment.
Garbage app. Doesn't recognize the chord or pick up sounds on the tuner. Been using on Android and iphone devices.
Crashes constantly. Hangs up. Painful experience. Love the concept, but there's no way my 5 year old is going to learn with this turd sandwich of an app...
It was more functional for me than for some others here, but couldn't get credit for tuning the guitar so she kind of got stuck on the first lesson.
Terrible. App has no lessons and customer services assumes it must not have the latest update. When you tell them it does they don't respond again. Trust everyone else's reviews and don't buy this product.
I like the lessons and the app but when I try to play the songs it says that the app crashes.
So disappointing. App doesn't "hear" playing reliably or correctly. You have to complete challenges to unlock songs, but they're impossible as the app won't work. So you can't just bypass the chord lessons and play the songs. The Fender app hears us fine on the same devices.
This app is ok. My two kids each have a Loog guitar, and I was able to set up a user for one of them and tune his guitar and start learning a song. Then I tried to add a second user... It's clearly possible to switch users but I could not figure out how to actually add a second user!
The app is clunky & unfortunately does not offer the same experience as it does on iOS, unless I am missing something. It would be great to have a uniform/same layout for clicks on both devices & the same microphone options on both devices.
The app is totally unusable. Shuts down constantly. The guitar is just as bad. Bought a new 6 string on crowdfunding and it is awful, constantly having to tune it and buzziest strings ever. Not a word from customer service after multiple emails. Loog seems like a really bad company.
Great idea but this thing crashes randomly on phone and tablet. And you can't resize videos. I want this company to be successful but it disappointing that it doesn't work on the pixel phone or Samsung tablet. I will sign up for the beta to see if there is any improvement.
This app is awful in android. My 8yo was in tears she was so frustrated. We tried it on two android phones - both awful. Nothing worked well, she didn't get points for things she did, the "checklist" didn't check. Then we installed the apple version on an iPad - it works great. They should remove this app until it is more functional. Current status is terrible for learners.
