To get back events I had to go to push notifications on the app and turn them back on, then my events started reappearing. Somehow it was turned off maybe in an update or something. Just thought I would mention as I couldn't find anywhere that mentions a fix for this. So hopefully this helps someone out.

For the most part, the app is good. Have had a few issues with the notifications the last month but realized it was the update on my phone. Several of my apps were manually disabled, I thought it was the app itself so I uninstalled it 2 or 3 times until I seen in my notification area that it was manually disabled. I turned it back on and saved my selected notifications in app, it now works properly again. It does take a bit to register the cameras when I go to look at them at least for me.

App is ok to view your camera system. But is consuming a lot of battery and causing phone to go into a restart loop. App also doesn't show live view, it's like it gets stuck and shows no network connection. If the battery consumption can be fixed and better stability and a dark mode. It can be better. Hope that an update will arrive with these fixed. Looking forward to a optimized application.

Constantly crashes, slow and mising features. Installed on my Samsung s7 tablet and on my pixel 6, it crashes about 50% of the time when opened on both devices. You can't control all of the features from the app. Overall, the app experience is poor at best. I spent 3k on the Lorex system and wish I had gone with a different brand. Also, I have trouble accessing both the dvr and cameras from a Windows computer.

My old phone had FLIR Cloud but it's no longer available. This new app is almost identical except they decided bright sky blue is a better background color than black. Nevermind that most phones have dark mode now to save battery and IR cameras are running in black and white a lot of the time. I wish I could just use the old app...it worked better and looked better. Please ditch the blue!

(Lorex 4k ultra HD NVR) Within the past week, I have stopped receiving motion notifications on my phone. I open the events tab and it shows I've had no motion detection. I have checked all my cameras, unplugged my dvr and plugged it back in, and made sure push notifications were turned on in the app. Nothing seems to help. The only thing I can think of is my android phone did just have an update. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

UPDATE: Push notifications fixed on 1/26/22 at about 12:30am. Thank you Lorex for addressing the issue. This app could be more user friendly. It takes some digging in the menu options to figure out how the features work. It was working fine and then yesterday (1/18/22) at some point during the day it just stopped sending motion alert notifications to our phones. Cameras and DVR are functioning properly and the app settings are all in place. Reinstalled the app and checked DVR settings.

App crashes once I open it almost immediately. Sometimes cameras erase by themselves off of main screen and I have to re-add. Also, everytime i try to browse through footage it always freezes and i have to reload the footage again to try again. It's very annoying. Spent so much money on the system itself and the app is almost worthless. Update 1-21-22 STILL doesn't work great. My events list doesn't work anymore forption detection. I try to turn on push notifications on but it crashes the app!

Not receiving push notifications on my new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. All permissions are granted, and I installed Uninstaller a few times but still does not work. Push notifications are set in the app. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. The push notifications finally started working again. Not sure what changed, but it works now. Maybe it didn't install correctly or something I don't know but I thank you for getting back with me

This is a total Joke! Not only is the phone app in stuck mode, (Android) also the software on my P.C. is having problems. (Cannot double click on a camera to enlarge it and use P.T.Z. controls) I contacted technical support they ran out of ideas on what the issue is, they never found the problem, and giving them remote access to my computer. The only words that come to mind are Dumb and Lazy.

Update : Lorex Team replied to my review here within 24 hours that the lack of push notifications is a known issue that is being worked on. Lorex has been very responsive to any inquiry I have made over the years. I look forward to a solution to the push notifications problem. Original post : Push notifications do not work for motion detection. That is the main downside of Lorex app and NVR firmware. I have upgraded and updated and still no notifications.

I've been using the app for quite some time, but I wanted to change the app to access the NVR directly, rather than through the cloud. But the app doesn't retain the settings correctly from the Device Config screen. I can set the Register Mode to IP/Domain, add the IP address, and the test the connection. The connections succeeds, and when existing the Device config screen and I go back to home screen, the video feeds are displayed without issue. If I then open the device settings again, the Register Mode is back to Device ID, the IP address is listed next to the QR code in the Device ID field. And if I click connect now, the connection fail. I literally have to enter the device setup screen every time I open the app, to set the register mode back to IP/Domain, and re-enter the IP address. I'm on Android 12, using Pixel 5 phone and app version 1.3.2. I've written to support on the provided e-mail address, but have received no response. Not even an notice of receipt.

Not at all optimal...I'm really at a loss when I contact their Support Center only to be told that I need to 'read up' on the manual that is. I believe technical support around there has a copy of Cliffs notes and is purely winging it. I have been a long time decades long customer of Lorex and at this rate I can no longer get the troubleshooting necessary for me to remain one.

I purchased nice cameras from Lorex, and the whole DVR set roughly about a year ago. Up until the last few weeks, I'm not receiving any notifications to my phone for motion detecting or tampering. I have been to the app and removed the cameras settings and then added them back to see if that helped, but it worked for less than 20 mins and then back to, no notifications!! Please help with this!! The system that I purchased wasn't cheap, and I'm expecting a higher quality product for my investment

1 star is way too kind for this junk. The old app was not the greatest but it was 3.5 stars in my opinion, so I was happy with it. This new app would be zero stars, if that was an option for me to select. Live viewing is fine but playback stops working every time (if it actually starts). And you can't select a time. You have to select a whole day. Then it crashes before I can get to the time I'm trying to view. Very disappointed.

Terrible upgrade. takes forever to load my cameras and more difficult to use. I hate it. Now I have to try to figure out how to get Lorex Secure to start working again since it won't load after I updated. Update: 8 January 2020- The performance of the hard drive works fine. My problem is with the app. It is slightly better than it was, but quite frequently the playback on the app is very slow. Sometimes it will freeze and then jump forward 10-20 seconds. It doesn't matter if I am on wifi or cell

App used to work mostly fine on my S10. Prior to update I used to always have to switch to HD to view. Settings never saved. Now, I don't even have that option. Blurry mess. Can barely make out anything on the screen. What's the point of having cameras? Never mind the fact it takes 97 seconds at best for the cameras to open once clicking on the app.

Installed ok, works well enough in general. Biggest issue is when trying to do playback from multiple cameras, when you move the time slider, or increase playback speed, it only does it for one camera. So, if you are looking to find something specific, you have to scan each camera individually. The NVR will do it as expected, but this app will not.

Upgrading my review. After two years of flawless operation I was forced to upgrade my firmware (and switch to Lorex Cloud). This broke my remote viewing capability. I'm not sure if it was the act of viewing all of my network settings on my NVR, or the three device reboots, or my smacking the device in frustration. Eventually, however, remote viewing was restored. It's 2019 ... it's unacceptable that a forced upgrade should be so difficult. From the looks of it, I'm not alone.

Updating my review..app has started to have issues. It doesn't always open. It closes on its own when trying to open app. However, it is much better than their older app. Also, when clicking on a camera screen it should be highlighted better to know what camera screen options you are looking at. Would also be nice to have a option to quickly choose when you are away or home to enable or disable alerts to your phone.

There is always an error when opening, asking if I want to import from the old app and it prompts for a password which I have never set up before. The quality of the feed is horrible, the playback sometimes does not even play video and it says that there is an error. I loved the old app and had no issues. I hope you guys fix this, I love my lorex system but this app needs work... why not just leave the old one alone?

I only gave 1 star, because you can't leave less. This app is extremely unreliable. If you are traveling away from the system, and you can't connect, you're out of luck, because you need to be with the system to have tech help you troubleshoot the problem. If I was with the system, I wouldn't need to use their app. Never a connection problem when you're connected to same local network as the video system. I've never had a connection problem with my WD NAS on the same network, IT ALWAYS WORKS.

The software needs a lot of work. The motion detection is difficult to tune and has too many false alarms at night. It detects changes in light level as motion, even rain will set it off. But if you turn down the sensitivity it won't detect real motion during the day. The zones don't seem to work either as I get alerts from motion outside the alert area.

This is a downgrade from an already horrible interface from their last app. Playback is useless, you cant get a view of a single camera only multi view. The slider is an upgrade, too bad it jumps around and is extremely clunky. Still the best way to use the system is from the nvr which in itself isn't user friendly. I dont know whats so hard to make this app's interface user friendly. If I didnt have the system already I would go with arlo just for the interface with smartphones.
