Lorex Ping 2

Time to upgrade.... Possibly Free! These Ping apps haven't worked well in a long time, and I always thought it was just my phone. But I saw here that others have had problems as well. So I called for help and asked what to do since they've now Officially stopped upgrading the app. Result: they sent me four new cameras!! The Lorex Home app is great! I had to send pictures of the cameras and their serial numbers. And they found proof of purchase because I bought them on their website.

THOSE WHO ARE HAVING ISSUES, I FOUND A FIX! We shouldn't have to go through this but I have spent too much on these cameras to not be able to see them from my phone. I have mine backing up to my server computer but since my phone updated to Android 10, this app no longer works! 😡 Very frustrating! I downloaded IP Cam viewer pro, added my cameras by IP address, model is lorex and make is LNC104 (even though my model is LNC 204. and they work great! Better than the app ever did!

App now crashes, won't even start up, after Android update that installed yesterday (2/25/2020). Since the last version of this app came out in August 2017, I doubt Lorex has any interest in fixing it. Useless now. The PC version of the software still works, but really hard to find on Lorex's website (LView v.1.30). Time to completely dump Lorex, never buy their junk again, and just use Blink or Arlo cameras.

Have been using this app for years with no problems, but today I am suddenly not receiving push notifications, or email notifications for motion or sound on my Android or my IOS and I have also had no problems with IOS until today. This is useless without notifications.

This would be my second camera which I am gib to throw away. Their software always have this issue. Answer me if your software is having a reliability issue than what about your camera, are they reliable? I DOUBT IT. It's not even opening

Please fix the app ASAP. I have 4 cameras that aren't working because they only run on this application which is not supported by android anymore. I spent an hour speeking with custumer service/ technical support and didn't get any help or solution! All what I was told is that I can buy a new camera but what am I supposed to be doing with the ones that I have!? All the app should be up to date!

End of this Lorex camera without support for Android 10. Anyone considering this company for solutions should look elsewhere. They seem spread too thin to support all the apps and keep them up to date with all the iterations of Android and iOS ( other app platform for camera using Ping app.

Cameras are generally ok. Not great or even good. But the app support is horrific LAST UPDATED IN 2017!!! and sloppily made. Now with the latest update to Android, the app wont open. And with the lack of said support for their apps, I highly doubt we will see an update. Thus making our cameras obsolete. Well done Lorex.

Not compatible with android 10. Basically lorex camera is useless because they do not upgrade their software to support latest OS. now my almost all lorex cameras are useless. So never go with lorex.

Has not been updated in the last few years, will not work since Android 8 or 9. Their support will lie to you say they are upgrading and they haven't. Use an alternate camera software in the play store.

I called Lorex for help. They opened a ticket and said they would call. Don't bother buying their product. As they move on to other products, they will not update the older products. Updates don't work or there are none. I have 9 useless cameras now. Lorex doesn't help. Ton of money down the drain. Don't buy their cameras, in a few years they will be useless because Lorex will have moved on.

After the Android update to 10, it no longer works. I have 8 cameras that I can't use now. I really hope they do the right thing and update the app. It didn't always work the best but it worked and that was fine by me.

Lorex frontline Technical Support Representatives are not being told about the problems posted here regarding the PING 2 Series Android App which is not compatible with Android 10. Reviews have been posted since the beginning of 2020 regarding this problem and no one from Lorex is reading them. I spent about 56 minutes on the phone with a technician trying to diagnose why their app stopped working on my phone. They should have been able to solve that issue in 2 minutes if they read the reviews. I was finally told it was a technical/compatibility issue on their end as it relates to Android 10. I later spoke to a Supervisor and was told that it’s unlikely Lorex will be updating the PING 2 Android App to work with Android 10 or future versions of Android. Old Lorex WiFi cameras using this software/technology are out of date and no longer supported. Basically, you have to keep an older version of Android or buy a newer Lorex security camera/system.

FYI - New firmware is being pushed out to LNC devices rendering them inoperable. Who is pushing out the new F/W? Starvedia or Lorex? IDK. After the update the only response from the device is black text on white background that reads "Device has reached end of life. Please recycle or dispose of device properly." You can reboot the device three(3) times, after that the device will no longer boot.

App isn't compatible with Android. When you get on customer service they only want to send you a new camera, they don't seem to understand how technology works for being a technology provider. WITHOUT A FUNCTIONING APP WHAT GOOD IS A NEW CAMERA.

So they haven't updated this and all you lnc cameras are useless now. Haven't had them a little over a year. So rather than update the software they just come out with new cameras that are compatible. What a scam 😡 lorex has here

After the last android update the app closes as soon as it opens. I can't view our cameras on my Galaxy S9 any more. Hopefully the app will be updated soon to function again on android devices.

This app will not work on new version of Android. Customer support said they would send a new camera as a replacement if I could provide requested documentation. Called in again when new camera never arrived. They said had me send all the info again and again promised a new camera. New camera still didn't arrive called in a third time and after 45 minutes was told a manager had reversed the decision and said they would give me 20% off if I purchase a new camera. Fool me once..... . Never Lorex

Lorex Ping 2 app stopped working since Android 10 upgrade. This left 4 camera devices totally useless. I will never ever buy another product from Lorex as the company's total lack of response and support just disenfranchises many customer like me.

I've decided to smash up all my Lorex cameras today I'm going to upload it to YouTube. These cameras and the app only seem to work when you're home the second you are away from home 50 miles you won't be able to get the app to work. I promise totally defective.

I have used this app for many years, and it has always worked well. I would love to see an update considering it has been nearly two years. There doesn't seem to be support for the latest version of Android.

Worked well for years, but today crashed on a second screen. Cleaned cache, data, reinstalled - same, same. Note 9.

App stopped working with Android 10 update. Tried to email the support team and the email bounced right back. Not cool.

This app does not work On my Galaxy S20FE. It opens and shuts down right away. It used to work pretty good on my S8 Right now it's not even worth one star

The OS got updated and this app is no longer working. Lorex needs to support new Android OS. I picked Lorex due to their good reputations so please upgrade the software and dont leave loyal customers hanging.

Completely useless. Now my cameras that I paid good money for are worthless because you refuse to update your apps for newer phones. My next camera system WILL NOT BE LOREX

App does not work since last update. I have three cameras and if this is not fixed soon I will be going out to buy Arlo cameras.

This app is not working on latest Samsung S10 5G. It used to work fine on old google phone. I hope Lorex team will fix it soon.

This app has not been working at all ever since android 10. It cannot even start! It become completely useless now! Does Lorex care their products and customers?

Video will get stuck a lot. I have to uninstall and reinstall app to get it working.
