Lotus Lantern

This apps good except for a few things when I do something sometimes it will randomly decide to just connect to other LED lights in my house when I have not pressed the chains button. And I often struggle with the app not showing me the options that allow me to connect to devices I know where they are but when I go there they don't show up I have to turn off the app and restart it or turn off my phone and still sometimes it won't show up.

Neat idea, but the connection is unreliable and difficult to manage - I was only able to get the connection working a handful of times. The color selection interface is great, but if the lights won't connect, what's the point? Also, it's super weird that the app requires permission to use my phone's GPS. Once the devs work out the bugs, this product at this price point would definitely earn 5 stars from me, but until then, I recommend prospective buyers look elsewhere.

I got the lights as an Easter present and then downloaded the app. I'd love to see more work go into the app, make it more responsive, have a way to have it sync to the music better but the one thing that needs to be fixed is the strobe function. If I set it to microphone, the disco lights turn the mic sensitivity all the way up that's an actual strobe, when I go to the "strobe settings" the fastest I can make the lights flash is about the speed of a turn signal. Please add more features

It's ok but.... Maybe I got a set that doesn't work right, maybe it's operator error. I get blue, yellow and white only. The timer sometimes works. Other remotes for different appliances will change the light settings, made me laugh. Wish I could use all the colors it's suppose to have. Remote works for on off and switching between the 3 colors that work. That's about it. Sorta disappointed in this one.

Horrible and tragic that I cannot control the music player via bluetooth. No one can drive and switch songs by hand on their phone. I can't switch to the player to another bluetooth friendly music app. The only way is to use the microphone feature and play the better music app or USB. Also there is no way to play a Playlist. If you have a large music collection.. have fun scrolling from A-Z every time you want to switch to a song that starts with S.

honestly not bad. it has a nice design and pretty much all your basic needs. I do like how you can change the lights on/off on a weekly timer. there is no timer for shorter stuff like a hour unless you do it through the weekly timer which I hope they change. the mic music isn't to great gatta play around with it to find what works for you. (I suggest using external mic if you can) there's no ads either. overall pretty good but not outstanding.

All functions work as intended, however I do wish the schedule function worked after I closed the app, or at the very least saved. Whenever I close the application, the schedule doesn't work, and when I reopen it my settings all disappear. Seems to negate the fact that I can pick which days I want to the lights to turn off/on. I'd love to see this fixed.

The lights themselves are fine but the app is garbage. Slow, crashes alot, can't save presets, randomly turns off, the only music option is for downloaded files, and Bluetooth mandatory(good luck to your battery life), and I still haven't figured out how to just turn it off. If I didn't have to reset my settings everytime on start I wouldn't mind so bad, but for now this app is just barely usable. Not good, not even okay, just barely functional. For the money it's acceptable though.

It's ok.. my problems with it are that it doesn't change the colour it only does it when it wants to. I've uninstalled it, I've closed out the window on my phone, and I've plugged the light's out and back in and still nothing! It only works for a week or two when I uninstall it then install it again also a good add on to the app is to be able to turn the lights on and off through the app. With all do respect please fix this and I'll happily give your app the 5 starts!

It refuses to connect to bluetooth, continuously displaying the message, 'An app is needed to use this device' even if the app is installed. Managed to connect it once, wasn't able to again. When music synchronization is attempted, the lights just flash colors with no coordination. Then, you cant even leave the music or mic tab or else it stops.

I would say it's ok. But when I go and try to play music off of it I can't and the blue tooth doesn't work and I can't get it to switch colors when there's a song. I'm going to give this a 2. Don't recamend getting very sorry but it's not that good if an happy. I like how you can change colors but everything else doesnt work.

Ima give this 3 and a half stars. It has changed up my entire room which is good. It's bright and the colours are nice. But there is a lack of diversity on the styles and the mic is kinda bad for 2 reasons. It normally just flashes as hard as it can and has different colours for the different beats which is cool but could be better. And having to keep ur phone screen on at all times for the mic to work

Good app but after the first day of putting them up and able to use my phone it stops connecting to my phone and it wasn't a full day maybe like 6 hrs. And it don't really connect to the music and voice it just flashes randomly?!. But apart from those features there really good. Is there anyway you can fix this? X

Turns lights on at random times when I have not been using the app. Not a lot of features. They ask for access to your microphone for syncing up music and this works very poorly. The lights will just flash aggressively to the beat (or what it hears as the beat). Find any other app to control your lights. This one is absolute trash.

Overall it is an awesome app... Need modification on the music function though. The lights still flickers radomly even when the music stops. Also, please focus on the music bass beats as the source for light response. I found the music function too sensitive that is why it still flickers when there is no music.

Light settings sometimes reset themselves but its worth noting I hardwired them to my autolights and this usually only happens when I deactivate my alarm to unlock the doors. Would rate higher if it had a customization option. Not enough color combinations. Id like to see a custom pattern option to choose colors and not be stuck with preset 2 3 and 7 color effects.

It's a very good experience to have my house's lights controlled by this app. I have been using it for about a year and I haven't gone thru any problem, neither connection or color control have failed, and of course, this app is so intuitive and easy to use that one never think about controls, one just decide what is desired, then open the lotus lantern app and before you can count 3 or 4 taps and slides, voila! Everything is illuminated by your magic touch.

Like the lights...too dim though. And the moment I used the microphone selection, my lights were never the same. I have two runs. Once I selected the mic on my phone and switched it back to the external mic, they wouldn't work in sync anymore. I have to use the remote selecting different music settings until one only likes the slow mode, and the other level 3 music mode.

It's nice to be able to control our lighting from the phone, but it's not a very intuitive app. I don't know what the problem is but I haven't been able to get many of the features to work on either my android or old apple. Not only that, but I recently moved in with my partner, and learned that you can't share control of the lights via Bluetooth. I like that you can save colors, but that's the only feature I use and the amount of colors you can save are so limited. Overall rather disappointed.

I went to download this app and it destroyed my phone. It keeps rebooting and won't stop. The phone goes through the same 3 stages of powering on, then it freezes and repeats the cycle until the power dies. I tried to do a manual reboot, then a hard reset, nothing works. I regretted installing this app the second it was on. The phone instantly acting funny and I rushed to remove the app before I thought any damage could have been done, but the damage was done. Horrible app. First and only time this has ever happened to me.

The lights are Limited only by its UI in this case I was hoping the app would provide more options Then the controller or the control Box it it really doesn't... This is great if you only want one color or or want it to rotate through pre selected colors. The lack of Of ability to customize your lighting colors is sad.

The app works great WHEN IT WORKS! It will stay on for about 2 min then you get a notification that pops up and says " lotus lantern has stopped working" and the app needs to be reopened and the lights reconnected to every 2 minutes or less! And yes there also needs to be a mic gain its far to sensitive.

If you went it to play your music just puede it on mic Mode. I don't like the fact it keep charging color while going to the beat of my music. It would be better if it COULD stay in one color and and just go to the bass . Besides that it's koo.

Won't turn on right away, and you can't turn it off right away. Too much lag in it. You can't operate the lights while in your car either? Whatever you first set it on then start driving that's it. No more response.
