Louis Vuitton Styles

The non-official application "Fondation Louis Vuitton" takes you on a journey inside a new parisian building dedicated to contemporary art : the Fondation Louis Vuitton.

With its signature monogram and strong celebrity backing, Louis Vuitton has made itself an international staple in the fashion world, yet Paris will forever remain its home. As Nicolas marks his 12th season as creative director of the fashion house, he presents a color and pattern-filled collection with strong silhouettes and an artistic flair. This last point was highlighted by a video projection of artist Sophie singing her single “It’s Okay To Cry” that provided a post-modern backdrop to the show. Take a closer look at Nicolas Louis Vuitton Cruise 2020 Collection, presented at the TWA Flight Center in New York.
The Louis Vuitton Cruise 2020 Collection delved into the long-running stylistic conversation between Paris, home of Louis Vuitton, and New York, one of the world's most fascinating cities. Artistic Director of Women's Collections Nicolas Ghesquière explored this sartorial exchange through a mash-up of New York City references. The legendary skyline has been transposed as prints on jackets while world-famous skyscrapers have been transformed into bedazzled handbags. The pinstripes of the Wall Street uniform take on a new form on draped silhouettes and graphic nods to Gotham City evoke the unique place that New York holds in the collective imaginary.

The Fondation Louis Vuitton is a corporate foundation and a private cultural initiative dedicated to art and artists. The foundation represents a new phase in art patronage and in the culture initiated by LVMH in France and around the world over the past two decades. The Foundation will be located in a building commissioned by Bernard Arnault, and designed by the American architect Frank Gehry. Resembling a cloud of glass, the building is set in the Jardin d’Acclimatation in Paris, in the northern part of the Bois de Boulogne.
