I downloaded the app because I have eyes that are very sensitive to light and I've had it for months and I love it, it's perfect. But the reason why I gave it two stars is because lately when I'm trying to use it it says it's working fine but it's frequently flickering not working for about roughly 3 minutes and won't go back on to being dark unless you stop what you're doing and turn it on and back off again, I'm not sure if it's the app or if there's something wrong with my phone but it hurts

I hate the fact that you have to install a separate app with anoying ads just to dim the screen sufficiently. That feature should be built into Android in the first place. Apart from the ads, which take up your time, the app is working ok. The dimming is not working on the system settings menu though,so you will have an unpleasant flash of light when you open it. If you are working in a light sensitive environment or want 100% dimming, this app is probably not for you.

App works as intended but causes interference with other apps/functions. The app dims the screen by overlaying a blue tint. This effectively neutralizes any 'blue light reduction' features that most people use at night. Since this app is intended to be used at night, it would've been better if it's dimming implementation didn't cause interference to other features also used at night

Trying again on my new phone. Update: It works good. Thanks, my eyes get sensitive sometimes so this helps a lot. The pop up ads really shouldn't show when a person launches the app, having to wait for thrm to go away at 5am when I can barely see straight is too much. Consider only showing them after we've shut off the filter, please. If you are a ditz and turned it down to 0% (What did you expect? Zero means nothing!) Just hold down your phones power button to restart.

Two big problems: (1.) Rather than showing a slider over your screen so you can see what you're doing, it pointlessly covers everything (mostly to try to sell you the paid version)β€”and with a WHITE background. That's right! To dim your screen in low light, you must shine a flashlight in your face. What were they thinking? (2.) There's no Close button. You can disable dimming, but the app keeps running. (To show ads? Dunno.) You must open Settings > Apps and tap Force Stop. Sorry, but I'll pass!

Its pretty good. My phone at its lowest is super bright and this definitely helped. The only thing I dont like is that each time my phone turns off the app does too. It bothers me a bit having to go turn it on quite a bit, but otherwise its pretty good. The ads aren't super annoying yet Edit: Its getting super annoying having to turn it on each time my phone turns off, im gonna find something else

It's alright. It does the best it can but it has issues. The three Android buttons at the bottom of the phone don't get dimmed. And the dinning overlay tints everything blue so it still hurts your eyes. They should look into a redder tint instead. It's not actively bad, it's just mediocre

The app is really useful for the obvious reason- lowering brightness. I use the app for my tablet as I preferred lower brightness than what was originally the lowest available in the device. I reduced one star because I need to open the app and "turn off" to take screenshots otherwise screenshots are so dim. Atleast that is quite acceptable considering the app really lowers brightness and doesn't have ads often. Also, quite some time, the screenshots are dim even if the app is turned off. Ugh!!!

Works by placing an increasingly opaque black/grey rectangle over your screen. It works great. The Ads when you open it sometimes flash white, which defeats the purpose, but it is a free app. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Does what you expect it to do. My phones minimum brightness is still SUPER bright at night, and this app has the option to go nearly black. Previous apps I have used just look like they turn the colors darker rather than actually adjusting the brightness. Non-intrusive interface, and ads don't bother me.

This is a really good app and it is easy to use. Even the free version works like a charm. All that the payed one offers, is to darken the taskbar too and to have the darkness adjustable from the notifications. But the app works for free just as well as the payed version, and it does it's job really well.

According to my results, this app doesn't save battery because it's just adding a layer on top of the screen which in turn drains the battery more, lol. But still really useful at nights

I thought this app was extremely useful until it started playing ads with sound. I understand ads are your revenue and you are providing me a service (that for some reason isn't built into my phone already, but when i got sounds playing at full volume at night trying to go to bed I decided to delete it. Thank you for being great until then!

I gave this app a 5 star because it does just what I wont it to do without being over complicated like other apps I tried before this one that want 4 sets or 3 digits to set the brightness when a slid bar is all I wanted. I use this app on my cars head-unit and strongly recommend it for head-units but there is only one problem. every-night I have to open the app to turn the option on and everyday turn the option off. If the app had an auto daylight saving option to dim at night and brighter in the day or a start stop option we could set then this app would be complete.

Works great. It will occasionally bug out and turn off, but it's not that annoying. For being a free app, the ads are easily tolerable. You have to be careful though. If you leave it on, you might accidentally lock yourself out of your device, and have to restart it.

It just turns off randomly. A lot. I'd be using my phone at night, and it would just go back to full brightness suddenly, only to go dark again, and later full brightness. Annoying, considering that it's the app's one purpose. :(

The app is great it makes ur brightness lower but be careful not to put it on a really lower brightness like 0-2% as this will make your screen all black and u won't see anything literally u can always click the turn off button but once it's not responding or u pressed the home button u can't turn it off. I already know because i had this incident and can't see anything except for the navigation button and u can't get ur brightness back up until u restart ur phone or let the battery dry out.

Attention! This app doesn't reduces brightness, rather very cleverly it blackens the display which seems like brightness is reduced. If don't believe then turn the app's brightness to the lowest, still there will be glow on your screen ( which is the glow of black light). But this app performs overall good. But why it doesn't reduces brightness of navigation panel.

Definitely is well created application that lowers the screens brightness as much as you need it too !!. Recommend to anyone trying to lower your intensely bright screen , for privacy or just to take it easy for a little while on your eyeballs , it is a useful App. (By the way ......DONT TURN THE BRIGHTNESS LEVEL DOWN TOO MUCH WITHOUT FIRST PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION TO WHERE THE APPS LEVEL METER IS EXACTLY AND NOT TO TURN IT SO FAR DOWN ,YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO SEE TO TURN IT BACK UP AGAIN !,πŸ˜ƒ

I don't mind the occasional ads(You're able to skip them. ) This filter really helped when I needed to type out things on my phone for later occasions late at night, and it's easier on the eyes. ^^ thank you for your wonderful service.

Nik. C. Apr 22, 2019

This app is great until you accidentally put 0% brightness and can't do anything because the screen is black wether it is on or off. I had to force reboot my phone in order to see my screen. Again, this app is great but please make something visible in case somebody does this.

This app bugs out the play store. If you don't have the permissions set so it can't display over other apps, play store won't work. But then lower brightness won't work once you set those settings.

I'm sorry, but the designer who decided that the app should launch with a plain white screen is either a thoughtless troll or just not very...bright. I'm in a dark room in dark mode. My phone is too bright at its lowest setting. So I launch the app and WHAM, I am blasted with an undimmed blank white screen while it figures out what comes next (hint: it's an ad). Let's think about the use-case for a dimming app. Are we on beach at noon? Is FULL-SCREEN WHITE a smart choice? Expletive deleted, NO.

This is very useful, however if you turn down the brightness all the way, you can't see the screen. Which I accidentally did. So I had no way of going back into the app and turning back up the brightness. I had to completely shut down my phone by holding the power button and turning it back on. There was no other way around it, at least not that I know of.

Ben. W. Oct 23, 2021

I expect it works great on phones, but on Chromebook, it only covers 2/3 of the screen, so its very distracting. It shows the option to resize the filter when you hover over the border, but you are UNABLE to actually adjust the size.

Flo. F. Mar 1, 2019

The app works by putting a sort of black filter over your screen. If you screenshot you will find the filter is not removable from the pictures so you have to disable the brightness control and then screenshot..Also the app takes very long to open.. sometimes over 10 seconds.

I paid for the full version and it said it would get ride of the adds. The banner adds went away but a super bright and loud add still plays every time I open it. Which is the worst at night when you would want to use the app.

This app works perfectly! It lowers my brightness lower when I want and turns off when I don't. The only problem is that the notification center doesn't become darkened, but that is not a huge concern to me.
