As a paying user, I can't acces the signal logs when I'm of the net. The apps tells me that the "free version" is limited to 500 records. That means the app needs acces to the internet to verify that I paid; i understand that much, but I need the logs the most PRECISELY when LTE is flaky. Kind of frustrating.
Useless. Provides no useful data like signal strength, bandwidth, channel use, data connection, cell tower positioning. Zip. No directions on how to use. Complete waste of time and effort. Uninstalled. Samsung S21 Ultra on AT&T.
Really Like it. However, wish they offered a "Pro" version that we could buy through the play store, that allowed us to pay them something for their effort, gave us extra features, etc.
I really enjoy this app. I find it very useful, I've had it for years and it really helps control a wireless environment. Would love to see built in support for Wi-Fi though.
I've had this app for a long time now. Like a really long time. I've had it through many changes updates It's better now than ever it does everything that they say that it does. If your thinking about this app Download it and try it. I have external boosters and I get a lot of the same information from them. So I can tell you that this app is giving you correct carrier information. And the bands and the channels and everything they all concur with my boosters
Latest update broke most info, all you can view now is band on LTE, no signal strength no nothing, on wcdma nothing at all. Useless. Screen shots are inaccurate
Caution! Developer getting greedy. What once was a great app now is getting watered down in the name of driving subscription revenue. Widget information only shows band and RSRP unless you buy pro. I already supported this app and purchase restore didn't fix it!
Great app, love the interface. However, I think the readout of 5g NR bands could use some work. When I have 5g, which should be n78, sometimes it will display a different frequency, like n77 or n48. While these frequencies technically could be correct, they use different ranges. It would be nice if this could be more accurate. In case it is relavent, this was on a pixel 6 pro. Otherwise, this is a pretty good app.
App gives a great deal of valuable, usable and core in-depth information. Configuration data I have not seen made available in other apps. If you want to see if your phone is using or capable for LTE or 4G or 5G. Outstanding.
An excellent app to find out which bands I need in case of upgrading my device or during service ups and downs. Detracting a star because I have had a problem where the app HAS to be started once to detect anything for the overlay, but, then, once it is closed, the overlay disappears. It would be good for the overlay to remain running even when the app is closed down. Update: My mistake. There is a setting that was checked that allowed the app to close down everything when it was closed. Unchecked it, and it runs in the BG now. 5* across the board.
I used to love this app until I just updated it.. The developer dropped support for Android 7 without warning. Thanks a lot. Just uninstalled it. No way to get the previous version back. BOO!
I hate to give this rating but I have 3 devices and this app inevitably closes on all of them within 24 hours. It's just not useful if it can't stay active. I've sent multiple logs to the developer but no response.
Nice premise. Very interesting. I've discovered more about what it does over time. It's a little hard to be sure I understand what I'm seeing and can do. Biggest annoyance? Using the log viewer. I can't understand how the list is sorted and I don't know how to resort it. When I reached 1000 records months ago, no newer data shows up. No clear way reset it. No way to know what data is really being collected and uploaded. No way I'm going to purchase top option just to see how it works
The app used to be useful. I used the map to see which tower I was connected to. I was pointing antennas and found that made the job easier. Now, the map shows me where I am (believe it or not, I already knew where I was) but it just says 'Disabled (beta, early preview.)' I can't find anything in settings that says how to turn it back on, but the app is no longer of any use to me at all. If you know where you are and signal strength (your phone tells you that), having the app is pointless.
Completely useless. The arrow that is supposed to point to the nearest/strongest tower instead points to me 80% of the time. When i do get it to point away from me, if I turn 10° the arrow turns 60°. It refuses to point in one direction no matter how I hold or turn my phone. I was trying to align an antenna, but this app made it worse instead of better.
Great app. Very useful for finding/verifying which frequency band your phone is using/receiving. Also it shows you the direction and approximate distance to your connected tower. However, it only shows which band my phone is using about half the time. Which is the only reason I need this app. Soooooo.....half of the time (maybe a smidgen less) it would receive a 5☆+++ rating. The other half of the time it would receive a 0☆ rating.
Been having serious issues with the app. If I treat to reset the signal in the discovery menus it continues to spin over and over without stopping. Does not do the countdown like before. The only way I have been able to stop it is by uninstalling and reinstalling. But it keeps going back to this issue! Sad because it worked so well for a few months!
Does not support carrier aggregation. Shows Band N38 When connected to bands B66 and N41. Only shows one band and it is incorrect. Network signal guru is the better choice.
I rely on LTE Discovery , to show me, electronically just how close , or Far away the closest network tower is. My job takes me to several, remote areas, where tactical equipment is a must for survival. The Discovery app shows me just what direction the nearest tower is located and just how strong the signal may be. I have a degree in mobile communications, so the data shown on the app helps , just about imperatively, on knowing how strong or weak the closest signal is to where I am.
I purchased the upgrade several years ago before the app was "5g NR" and now since they renamed the app I'm booted as a paying customer. This is exactly why I learned to NEVER pay for "in app" purchases. By not having a stand alone upgraded app, developers can be sneaky like this and thus double charge and more... 🙃🥂
Great app, would be better if I could get the overlay to show the strength of signal. Already tried all the settings. Help please.
Updated and still 0 neighbor cells. Not fixed in 5 months so presume it won't be. Shame. Removed for space
this application, i will forever see as my life saver for the remaining time that i own a phone on Sprint. I'm running a Galaxy S5 on resurrection remix (android 9), and this phone's modem has always been finicky at best; my service has now been at a very stable 4 bars in an area that i typically get 2. one thing i absolutely wish worked is the cell radio cycle itself; i don't like having to cycle airplane mode as it turns off the hotspot too, but not rating low as I'm sure it works for others.
Can't get it to move to a signal. And NO HELP showing anywhere!
I have to physically restart the app every time and I have the premium version
My biggest issue with all of these tower finder apps is that every one I have tried point to a completely different tower than the other apps. Seems like nothing is consistent. Also,it does not give you a bearing to the tower you are supposedly connected to. Just an arrow which who knows what that is pointing to. All in all, I have yet to find an app that is actually useful in this category.
I had previously bought the pro edition and the app is no longer detecting me as a paid user. Clicking the "pro - nv tools package" upgrade gives an error "you already own this item" without activating pro features.
Everything possible about your connections presented as simple or complex as you choose, WITHOUT ADS or selling your info. Stock is enough for most, but for ultra-geeks and pros varying levels of extra functionality are available for a modest one-time payment, no f-ing subscription here! IMO It's the best and cheapest for the job; I'd highly recommend it to anyone interested in available signals and where they're coming from, which as an example is perfect for finding out what repeater you need!
