I have installed this app. Is great up to a point... can't figure out how to control at once the lights that are in a group. I emailed tech support 5 times... no answer... honestly I will not be a promoter of this product! Looks great in pictures and videos but that's all.
A lot to be desired here. It does have some of the standard things you'd want, which work fine for the most part. But the "lighting" portion of the app takes forever to load, which is what I assume people would want to use most. There's also no option to add the lighting scenes to a widget? Disappointing.
Man, what can I say. I can say I love these lights. I only have used them for a month. I have gave only 4 stars. Would have been 5 stars. For us old folks, need some instructions on how to use. I think these are the best lights to buy. I was looking to be able change lighting in living room. So happy now. Thank you.
Good lights only had them a day but very happy that they are good and bright the app is really easy to set up and use very impressed. good job :)
Always seems to be connecting issues with 2 of my lights. No matter how many times I follow the troubleshooting instructions for a reset, 2 lights never sync up with the app.
This app has become extremely annoying to use. I am very close to buying bulbs from another company. Please just have an app that works and stop spamming notifications.
It works, but the user interface is absolutely garbage, it is unintuitive and you have to go into the app to use thier options, there are other apps that will let you control things from the swipe down menu on your phone. There are much better products on the market at similar prices if not cheeper, buy them not these.
out of most wifi device apps ive used this works the best. every once and while glitches or light is off or i would have left 5 stars
the lights disconnect all the time. this app is horrible!
It's fairly easy to set up automations and lights once you get the hang of it, but this app is missing many features. There should be a "save current settings as scene" option, a way to edit all of the scenes (there are some pre loaded I have no use of but can't change at all!), and a sunrise/sunset simulator. The dev and company as a whole seem pretty unresponsive to requests for change based on other reviews, but these are great lights and the app has so much potential.
ANOTHER UPDATE: I now have 3 of the lights installed, and the app has been working perfectly with them. Will order two more lights UPDATED REVIEW: I did a factory reset on my Note 8, which had been getting very very slow recently, and after the clean install the Lumary app has been working perfectly! So upgrading my score to 4 stars for now. If it continues to work well after installing more lights I'll upgrade to 5 stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have 8 ceiling lights I wanted to replace with color smart lights, so I bought one Lumary Wifi Downlight 4 inch light to try it out. The light is pretty good, from what I can tell, but it's kind of worthless without an app to control it. Unfortunately the app (version 1.0.6) is very buggy. Most of the time (but not always) it works to turn the light on and off, and if I can do that then I can usually adjust the brightness as well. The problem comes when I try to adjust the color ... most of the time it just doesn't respond. In fact, most of the time the app won't even change from the 'white' tab to the 'colour' tab ... it doesn't seem to register that you've touched the app! Because the app is so bad I won't be buying another 7 Lumary lights, and will probably send back the one I did buy. A shame ... I really wanted it to work.
Overall the app is okay if you are only using it to turn your lights on and off. The problem I have is with some missing quality of life features: - it's not possible to sort or re-order the lights on the home page which makes using many lights VERY difficult. - tap-to-run has so much potential but they are super tedious to add and edit! How about "save current light settings as tap-to-run config"?? It's frustrating that such an obvious feature is missing! There's more but 500 char limit :(
It's alright. Frustrating that I can't add lights to a room once the light has been set up. Also frustrating that I can't create a scene with different colors on different lights. The music feature doesn't really seem to work at all. There is room to improve, but it's a new product so I'm optimistic that it will get better in time.
The app isn't perfect but it gets the job done. It took me a little over 2 hours to install twelve lights and figure out the apps and how to make it work with Google assistant. Seems to work fine and my router is one room over.
The lights themselves seem fine. But I have no way to group the lights to perform actions at the same time. This means I have to go into each light individually and make a change. Not really what I want to be doing when I plan on having 4-6 lights in each room.
I had 8 lights installed in my house, in a living and dining room space where my router is located. The app consistently just does not work: the lights appear as "offline", so I can flip them on and off but can't use the dimmer or color features that I bought them for. Serious let down and I might pursue a refund from the manufacturer. You can't advertise a product and just not deliver on them! I've submitted multiple reports through the app that the "group" feature doesn't work to no avail.
I just replaced 6 recessed lights. Very easy setup. I found everything to be very intuitive. Created a group to control lighting just around the fireplace and another group to control all lights simultaneously. I also like how one light can be controlled without turning all lights on in the entire room which works well for reading.
App is slow, unresponsive and constantly telling me random lights are off-line when they aren't. Compared to the Lifx app and their bulbs this app is horrible and needs major work. Wish I could return these lights at this point because the app is that bad controlling them.
Extremely disappointed! I have been using the app for years and now it is forcing me to watch ads when I open the app. I paid for the light switches and now their application is crippled by forcing me to watch ads. Paid a lot of money for all the switches and that's how they treat me. Now I have to look for a replacement. Disgusted!
Worked at first but is now useless, you can't control the lights anymore ,unless you create an account that is displayed as collecting coupons and shopping deals. Their lights were cheap on Amazon and the app is now feeling like a bait and switch. Feels really scam like. I'm not going to sign up for your shady account. Uninstalled then resinstalled, now it won't even let me add a device without an account. Why do I need an account to turn lights on. Don't trust these Devs.
I have the same poor experience as most other users. App is buggy and slow, does not connect to all light all of the time. When they work they are nice, but they almost never work.
The 6 year old kid who made this should really get 20 years more experience.. Never seen something this bad. Buy Hue instead. A little bit more expensive, but worth it in the end. Update: one year in and the ledstrips go nuts at random intervals. Also loses connection and don't follow the instructed behavior.
Install was easy. Set up seemed easy. Tried sunset to sunrise feature for my client, seams easy but couldn't get it to work. I reached out for tech support for guidance. They were less than helpfully and rather rude. I'm a contractor and I sold these to a client. If they worked well and the tech support was usefully I would be a loyal client and sell these and set up for all my clients no longer will I use lumary. I will try other options next time. I even have these at my home.
App controls lights poorly. There is no way to change multiple lights at once without an annoying, complex automation menu. There is no room-based controls. The default scenes are boring and there is no way to create your own scenes.
Not happy at all that Lumary does not support "gentle wake up" feature via google home. For the price of those I would expect better service. It seems the lights have a permanent issue with Google home connection. I have now to reinstall 4 lights again as they dropped out. I am sick and tired.
So far so great! Easy to set up and create scenes. Colors greet us first thing in the morning and gradually change. Love controlling dimming, color, on/off with my google assistant. Can't wait to add to the rest of the home!
Original:Not what I expected, you group all lights in one room but you can't adjust them all at once manually...difficult to use app._________________>>>> After response: Had to watch a Youtube video to figure it out,but you gotta make combination of different groups and rooms to control lights as needed.... takes a while to figure it all out.
The light themselves are very good, but the android app isn't great. Connecting and syncing the light work well. The controls are not very reliable and/or responsive making it difficult to change the settings. The app will also easily desync with the sate of the light which is inconvenient. For instance, you can switch the light off from the app, the light switches off properly, but the app itself will sometime miss it and still consider it on, so you cannot switch it back on without triggering a manual refresh. It's unfortunate especially since the iOS app seems rather good in comparison.
