How it works: By overloading the luminance channel with strobing colors and video feedback, Luminancer defines itself as an instrument of abstract video. Luminancer starts with a luminance threshold filter and sends it’s signal down a video processing pipeline modeled after the early innovations and machines of the pioneers of video art.

Lots of potential for this app, but the interface is a bit confusing, as I can't figure out how to reset the trail origin back to their default position. Every time I accidentally pinch or swipe the screen, the trails change their direction and I can't set them back to their original position. The little square in the corner doesn't function either as it only shows a graphical depiction of the trail origin point.
The app works just like the iOS version and is pretty great. the downside is that it saves the videos to /Internal storage/Movies/luminacer/ instead of /Internal storage/DCIM/luminancer/ so it does not show up in the gallery. For the videos to show up in your gallery, all you have to do is move it from the Movies folder to DCIM and they will appear. EDIT TO ADD: Thank you for making this change in less than 10 minutes! it works perfectly!
Limits creativity, lacks technical support, and is definitely not worth paying for. There's a disappointingly long running bug that freezes your phone and doesnt save your videos, and no fix in sight. If you press export more than once, its done for. Theres a saddening lack of effects, as well as types of effects, and most of them just ruin the video anyway. I know its only $3, but its a legitimate dissapointment to have paid for.
App is great and seems easier then the iPhone version which is nice! However the videos are not being saved to the correct place which makes them unsharable. Instead of being saved to your gallery or photos like expected it's saving to MyFiles-> Internal storage -> Movies -> Luminancer. When you go to the video you can watch it on your phone but you can't share it to facebook or Instagram which is why I want this app. EDIT: Figured out how to share it but the videos still do not show up in my gallery which I would expect to see them there.
Ok I would love this app but ! I've only had it two days and I've had to remake my videos multiple times because the app says there's a problem and can't save it! So it's gone, no way to retrieve it. This waste so much time! Please fix this or make it so the videos are saved in the app with option to download so they aren't permanently gone! I redid one song FOUR TIMES because the app had a problem. 🥺
It's a neat app- but I thought it would offer more. layout is pretty janky -maybe it's an ode to analogue? Still annoying. easy fixes for usability- our selections for chan/color/blend easily shown - click button and it changes color to show that's the effect in use - right now it's in upr right corner, sml + impossible to read (at least contrast the text, pls). Trail length, needs this too. Allow us to save some presets, that be nice. Also, a numbered scale for threshold would be jazzy.
Love the effect of it BUT saving it to your gallery and playing it from there, it gives you a stand still picture with audio and when you fast forward to the end of the video, it plays the whole video but no audio.. cropping the length of the video also distorts the video.. pls fix.. :/
2/11/21 Update When I record a 4 second video it shows a still of the video in the app (instead of playing it). When I export the video to gallery the video becomes 33 minutes long and only plays the first second of audio over a still shot. 12/20 Update This app is no longer usable with the android 11 update. When the video is exported to the camera gallery it plays the entire audio for the video with a still video frame. Then after all the recorded audio plays, the video plays with no audio.
Effects are fun but it when i click save, it says "saved to gallery" and every time i check no video are saved. Its very frustrating doing something over and over only for it not to save. For a paid app, very disappointing.
Really was digging the results of this app when I seen other people using it. Unfortunately it does not seem to be correctly uploading a pre recorded video into it, I hope someone can fix this. Then it will be 5 stars.
Love this app but I can't watch, export, upload or download videos. I want to tell everyone to buy this up but until you fix this bug i can't. Please whatever it is fix it asap because I want to keep this app for eternity! Update 12/8/2020 I emailed the app dev and he responded pretty quickly and resolved the issue. The app is working as it should now. Download this app for some awesome visuals!
This app is amazing for my performance art videos! To everyone saying the app isn't saving your videos, its not saving to gallery like the app says. They're stored in your internal files. Hope that helps!
Really cool but I am so frustrated and tired of exporting a video, getting the notification that it saved to my phone, and the file being nowhere and the video gone forever. Please fix this bug.
Hey tech team can we move the export button from the bottom right? Its so close to the back button on Android that I have accidentally hit it instead losing my footage. Otherwise love the product and you all. Happy 2021!
Awesome not that many features however the features it does have is amazing. It gives more vibrancy to videos. Longer videos uploaded from galleries do take a bit of time to load however
the app is okay, and does as described so I'm giving it a 5 star, however once I set that the tails flow off in a direction without closing and reopening the app I'm unsure how to undo it. for poi it seems to work well
Only records on Samsung. Has issues processing imported video and won't let you save. Such a shame as i waited for this app for years.
amazing app. saving a lot of time and energy used in premiere trying to create this same effect with layers of keys and time echo.
App won't save videos, I keep getting an error message "there was a problem processing the video".
the trails aspect is great. but when i try with a video thats already been taken, it rotates 180 degrees :(
I've been having issues the past few days my app constantly gives me issues and it usually takes hours to finish videos because usually they cant process.
Flow artist dream app! Especially if you spin fire or LED props. The effects u can use while making videos are very cool!
Never have i found such a niche app for such a niche community. No free version so an immediate paywall is also weird to be accepted by so many. Good app. Good effects.
Found out tonight cant load in 60fps video. Cuts it down to 30 and i loose frames and creates gaps in the trails. Need to fix this
Use to be the best, no longer let's you save videos. I've emailed my complaint and never received one back....
I have the moodhoops pixel wand and this app makes so many different settings and trails, having so much fun learning to use it!!!
I bought the app everything was fine but my phone started to glitch out really bad until i deleted the app sad because i enjoyed the app to. But i have an lg stylo 6 not sure if that has anything to do with it but sad day
So this app used to work great but now everytime i try and edit a video is says could not process video and will not let me save it
loveee this app! i don't know what i'm doing and yet I still get great results with it. the best for LED and fire flow videos
The app is cool, I'm still trying to figure out how it works and such. But anytime I go to export a video the app causes my phone to become completely unresponsive. It wont pull up where to export to, or whatever it's supposed to do. The video just continues to play in the background while all my phones functions cease to work. It takes minutes before I can exit out of the app or even lock my phone. That's a pretty serious problem to have for an app I had to pay for. I'll up the rating after fix
