Looks like a good app, costs £9 a month to unlock the full package or £55 a year. Only 3/40 games are available with the free game, with the higher difficulties being excluded (there are some challenging difficulties to give you a taste tho. too expensive for me (as a student who has Spotify, gym membership, phone contract and gamepasses already) but it does look like it could be worth it. The initial brain test results are compared with your age range and the app does look user friendly.
I honestly don't know if these games help me in real world tasks or if they just help me get better at these particular games. Either way I enjoy the charts and graphs and showing my performance vs. others my age. 98-99th percentile across the board makes you feel good if nothing else. The games are fun and wholesome and if they happen to help sharpen my mind; memory, concentration, critical thinking, reflexes, etc. then that is a welcome bonus!
Does not calculate correctly. For the first time, I did relatively well without mistakes and speed, but it was in the fourth row of my rankings. I did it a second time right away, with a relatively similar speed and even with a mistake, a new record was set. Is cleared
I used this in place of my "brain training" therapies. My cognitive skills have been deteriorating for several years. I couldn't afford the therapies and had to keep working on this or I would continue to decline. I can't really afford the full version so I use the free exercises. I'm happy to have this!!! It's helping fill a real need for me. Thanks and keep up the great work. I strongly recommend Lumosity: Brain Training.
It's good-ish. I would rate the higher on the spot, but the only way to actually use this app is to pay. Sure, you can kind of see where you're at, but not much. All you see is a vague number paired with a bar. And you only get three random games a day. It'd be great if you only had to pay for extra games instead of all the games, or you only had to pay to see advanced data instead of all the data. Honestly, it's just pointless unless you're rich.
0 ads. Exceptional, beautiful, well-crafted minigames to help you hone your skills. Each minigame, no matter how simple it may seem, helps me improve myself bit by bit. There are informative insights available as well. The app, along with Elevate, is exactly what I have been searching for to include in my daily training alongside the countless number of games in Dreams on the PlayStation 4. They make for a superb combination.
It's really great. Progress is very satisfying. But it's not without issues. In "raindrops" for example it's easy to miss the buttons - They're so small, and the space in between them doesn't exactly help. And in "word snatchers" you can't type words in quickly - It won't recognize some button presses so you're forced to write slow, resulting in score loss 😖.
I tried it out, did a few games & it matched them up to what I wanted to work on/improve (memory, math, speed, etc.). I don't really have any complaints, besides that after the free trial the app is very expensive.. $70/year or $14/month. That's almost the price I pay for a brand new Nintendo Switch game.. just seems a bit high. If it was between $5 and $10 a month I would think about it If you're willing to spend the money though, it does seem like a good app to train your brain. Try it out!
I am worried about cognitive decline so I downloaded Lumosity and have been using for three months. Overall I think it is helping (even the free version). Plus most of the games are enjoyable. I have noticed that I don't have as much fun in the areas I'm deficient in until I start improving. This, along with the scoring system, different game levels and trophies for good performance, gives me a feeling of accomplishment and keeps me engaged.
Very challenging and helpful! Before my craniotomy, I had problems thinking as quickly and sharply as I did before my seizures. Post-craniotomy, I have a lot more trouble. Having this app has actually helped me with concentration, memory, vocabulary, word recall, spacial awareness and so much more. I'm able to work on my rehabilitation outside of speech, OT, and PT. I'm grateful for having some help. Added bonus, the games are a lot of fun!
I love the train 3D model, but other than that, unless you purchase the premium version, you won't get acces to some interesting insights. This one is the best brain training app I've ever encountered. It's far beyond Peak or Elevate. The stats are complex, yet there's a visual glitch when trains enter their stations, as the smoke overlaps with some other elements. I think it's a problem of layering.
I love the way they have categorized, that way you can play the kind you like. Also I love the demo, it makes you take baby steps to play the game instead of reading instructions. The advanced levels are pretty challenging, so it keeps you hooked on. However, it would be nice to have some cheat codes. I got stuck in level 14 in pets detective. It's so frustrating!
Really good in fascinating brain exercises, most of which are very engaging or challenging and/or stress both parts of your brain. Some require more concentration or timing or abstract thinking than others. Have to pay more to get the full experience but what they offer you is actually pretty good. My only criticism is that some of the exercises are not really that intuitive or as explained as it should be.
Love it. Really shows improvement and decline in mental and physical decline. I have had 2 surgeries over the years of using it. A definite decline and improvement showed. Easy and fun to use. Enjoyable sometimes frustrating to try to improve you scores. Intelligent and multiple games to play. Plus your helping research on the brain can't improve on that
I was going through a bad time mental health wise. After some experimentation with the new mindfulness courses I tried watching whole series of sessions over and over again. My thinking was to try to strongly establish mindfulness as my new default response to stressful situations. I feel like now I've (finally) achieved a significant level of success in this way. As such this app has been of invaluable assistance to me me. Respect. Keep up the good work.
Exactly what the title says! It looks simple, but its rather challenging, and surprising! Its stimulating because each exercise is different, and you strive to do your best each at each individual training. There are many different excercises, and they are so very well laid out; colorful, some with audio, and the visuals are so inviting. I recommend this game to anyone who can accept a challenge....upon themselves!
This game is interesting, but it's annoying subscription model that is literally essential to really playing makes it more frustrating than fun, imo. It'd be one thing if they offered some premium features you could unlock with a one-time payment, but a subscription model is just flushing money. It might be a lot better if you're a subscriber (and if it didn't remind you constantly that you have a free account), however the free version gave me little reason to want to pay for this game.
logic games & mindfulness. on the free version you get only 3 a day, varies day o day and you can't go back, therfore it takes a pretty long time to get to all the games to view if it'd be worth it to pay. most of the games are really fun, all are challenging in their own right, some much more addicting than others. after a week I'm on the fence about actually buying the product for the games, but what really shines is the mindfulness. well spoken. creative expression went into this app!!
I really enjoyed the challenge your app provided over the last few years. But unfortunately I can no longer brain-train w/Lumosity. After a recent upgrade of my Samsung device, I am now required to sign, or log in, in order to access my free account. I wish to remain anonymous, as the challenge for me, was to improve my skills, compared to MY previous high score, or top level achieved. It was a GREAT WAY TO START THE DAY, & I will miss playing the assorted games, and the insights they provided!
Games are varied and well structured, with brain areas such as speed, memory, attention to detail, language, processing, and many more being challenged and exercised. The free version offers three different games each day that can be played multiple times and there are no third party ads. With a little investment of a few minutes per day, improvement can be easily monitored. I've recommended this app to many people who now enjoy Lumosity sessions too.
The free premium trial was good. The games are fun. One HUGE problem, though. It costs 13 DOLLARS A MONTH(after free trial). After the trial, you only get 3 games, randomly chosen every day, not even a full "workout" apparently. The games are good, but not even CLOSE to being worth that much a month. I also heard they were sued for misinformation, so that's also pretty shady. Honestly, if occasional, non-intrusive ads could help mitigate this, I'm all for it(prob not). Overall, don't download.
There are two options for this app: a free and paid version. I use the free version. This app is great because there are activities functioning almost exactly like a game that increases your performance in important cognitive categories. Some examples include verbal fluency, math speed, divided attention, memory, and attention. It provides helpful statistics showing where you should improve and what your strengths are. My favorite part is that the changes which games you can play everyday.
