Luna Launcher - Kid Launcher

I've been using this since my daughter was born to let her play only the games I want her to play without being able to escape it and access other apps. Why only 3 stars? Today is the second time it got "stuck" on reverting to home. Every few seconds, it reverts to home, no matter where it is: in an approved app, or in the settings menu trying to fix it, or even if it's already on the home screen! Last time this happened it fixed itself after a few days, and in the meantime I couldn't use the phone at all. Thankfully I've got an older phone for this app that is just used as "her phone" but she was pretty upset that she couldn't play her games during that time. Also, the setting to prevent use of the notifications dropdown worked exactly once, two years ago, for about a week and has never worked at all since. As soon as it fixes itself again, I'm getting rid of it and installing an alternative.

don't let the three stars fool you.. this is a great app for what it is meant for. but here is why I chose 3 out of 5: setting direct call is buggy. doesn't show contact picture, just a blank space. tried older version from xda and had the opposite effect some apps showed up with a default icon thats incorrect but the direct call showed the contact picture that's set.

Well. I got this so my daughter could use messenger video to call me and other family members directly. I can't figure out how to set up the one feature I wanted to use. No video calls show up as options in the "Contacts" shortcut as was advertised. I even set her up with messenger kids so she would have her own list of contacts to choose from. Overall disappointing that I can't use the one feature I wanted. Other than thst the app does exactly what it says it does.

Amazing with theae fixes This app is fantastic. However there are some glitches. When adding an app the app icon and title don't correspond. Then icons keep changing. Also the icon for system shortcuts that are added to the home screen do not display. Also there are some issues when exiting parental control mode. It reopens automatically. (when using kids option for majority use)

Adding a YouTube channel to the home screen leaves you with a blank space. Why? Why doesn't the app pull the thumbnail from the YouTube channel and set it as the app icon? Yes, I know you can edit the app icon manually but that doesn't work either. It doesn't save. As soon as I select and crop the image/logo I want to use, it just reverts instantly back to no logo. Sounds small but no kid wants 50 blank spaces - kinda ruins the whole experience! Please fix and I will edit my review.

This app is so wonderful! Just what i was looking for! I love how the native YouTube app allows you to access specific videos, playlists, or channels on the homescreen without launching the entire youtube app. It would be nice if it had the same capability for ebooks, especially for google play books.

I downloaded this app on my Sony Xperia C4 (Android 6.0) and at first it looked great, but it gone wrong later on. The app icons are mixed which can be a little frustrating, secondly the launcher is very glitchy, thirdly the UI is horrible. It looks less kid friendly and more of an ordinary app than a safe kids launcher. Kidix is way better, search for it on the Play Store and you end up with a glitch and bug free safe kids launcher.

Contact email address does not need a response. Contact icons blank. Appears buggy and unreliable. Would be nice if support responded to my emails since I paid for the full version and it still asks me to upgrade even though I paid. Great idea, poor execution.

It's a great app. But each time the app is used, I need to reboot the phone to be able to see the notification shade and status bar. It happens even if I don't use notification shade lock function. It'll be great if you can fix it. Thanks.

Edit: Works again as it was before. Great app for locking down younget kid's tablet. Old Review: After update all icons randomly appear and disappear from home screen. Tried reinstalling but nothing helps. Was great before but now useless.

The youtube playlist icons added to the homescreen are blank and cannot be changed. I ended up adding cute but unrelated text emojis to the names so they show up better. Also, in the actual youtube playlists the thumbnails are jumbled.

best app for kids (parental controls) ever, i had installing many parental control, but this is the best parental control launcher ever. in addition, you can change the wallpaper, etc, just explore the setting.

KISS - Keep It Sweet and Simple - principle at work. Luna Launcher does enough to protect the environmental integrity of my tablet and does not interfere with or affect application stability.

As I am using moto devices it has guest mode option on notification bar so I locked notification bar in the parent mode setting but still locking the notification bar is losing the some use full facilities so I requested you to create a new notification bar by removing guest mode,add user, settings option (Please keep in the mind that children can easily go to the guest mode which is available in the notification bar in all moto devices and some android devices ).

This is a good app for what it does. I wish that there was a little more option in switching between kid mode and parent mode in a "Kid Primarily" setup, but that might just be a quirk of making this work for a Amazon Fire HD8. P.S. Luna, what is up with your domain name not working?

This aplication has blocked my tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab A and i haven´t any option to enter to configurations or parent mode. I've turned the tablet off but it starts in child mode.

it was a good idea but unfortunately children are smarter than you as a progrmmer. My kids were able to not only bypass it, they were able to uninstall it even with a 12 characyer long password and everything locked down. kinda sad that you cant defeat an 11 or 14 yeard kid.

It's very helpful to manage my kid apps. Works nicely without any issue after a month. The dev is very nice as well. Long live Luna.

Awful. Avoid! Locks the tablet without being used at all. Interface is shocking...

Perfect launcher to have a simplified android experience. I use it for my childrens phone.

App doeswhat it says but it wont let me exit to parent mode. Makes changes difficult.
