It is almost perfect app. One thing is missing. To have build-in aplication graph how the light is changing for a certain amount of time. For example I want to mesure how flashlight temp protection is reducing the light intensity from full to discharge state. It could take up to 3-4 hours. One graph will be very useful. :)
thank you for including charts for various average lighting condition. It beats having to pull out a separate chart. Maybe you could add Kelvin equivalents. Cheers. I run this on a Moto E4 and it doesn't quite fit entirely on my screen. The calibrated texts top half is barely visible. If there is some kind of settings for this, I am unaware of it.
This is a good little app, best news is you can download and try it cos it's free! Unfortunately it's defaulted to my selfie camera and not my main (Pixel 3) and I can't figure out how to change that (might be 'my bad'). I think it's ripe for more development, such as using the camera zoom function to create more of a spot meter, which I understand should be possible. I'll be keeping this on my phone for photovoltaic purposes for now...a bit of photography. Good effort, look forward to updates.
It does the job, and of the others I trialled this was the most usable and had all the functions I needed....and no ads! I've had to return to this review following the most recent update to congratulate Przemyslaw on the improvements he has added - to be able to select timing per reading is a great addition, and to be by able to dowload the readings in csv format for analysis is brilliant!!! Unfortunately, I've already used all 5 stars, but here's another 5: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!! Excellent product! Thankyou!
It's Easy to use, user friendly interface, it's amazing! Thank's to admin for a nice & helpful application.
Bought 130 dollars worth of "Lux/PAR" meters, advertised for high output LED systems, and they didn't work at all. Like at frigging all. This app does work and it's been tested under known values. If your camera is in good condition (important...) forget about the cheap Amazon garbage, just throw this guy 5 bucks and get everything you need. Just paid for premium after 1.5 years of use with zero issues. This is worth the 5 bucks vs 50-60 for Meters that simply don't function. Big thanks!!
Can't switch which camera to use. The default is the front camera which is very frustrating especially when you plan to measure light sources other than what is above you. I hope this gets improved then will i change my rating. Other than that, everything is awsome. Very straightforward. - changed my rating from 3 star to 5 as the dev was right based on my research.
Best photometer app out there. Just paid for the pro version both to get advanced features and to help a deserving de developer. Edited 2021/02/24: the app keeps getting better with every update. Przemek is clearly dedicated to providing a precise and well designed tool. This brilliant piece of software works flawlessly.
Great for the light measurements. Intuitive and simple. Niece design! Congrats.
I was enjoying using this app... Then the developer "upgraded" it and stopped the dark theme from working. Meaning low-intensity results aren't as reliable as they once were, as the results may now be skewed by the act of measuring using your brightly back-light phone/ tablet.
Excellent idea as how to use light sensor! App is easy to use and navigate through. Light is one of luxuries in our homes, so it is important to be aware and scientifically informed how good / bad lighting conditions are. Much recommended!
Very good app! But what you could add is a light meter that shows if the current lux light is good/bad for eyes. Because we can know if the lighting is perfect or not but we cant know is it's good for the eyes.
Heyyo, I'm a device maintainer for LineageOS, and this app was really handy on finding out the Lux value of the light sensor to help me figure out a new auto brightness curve for Android Pie and the adaptive auto brightness it uses. The only feature that could be added to improve this app would be displaying the current brightness value or the nits equivalent (I had to manually use terminal and cat from /sys/class/backlight/leds lcd-backlight/brightness to find out for my device a lot). Otherwise? This app is perfect.
It's a very good app which helps in data log as well. But the only question is whether the values are accurate and if the results are calibrated. Hope the degree of error is less when compared to the real time instruments.
I use it for horticulture purposes. Not quite sure of the accuracy, but it seems to work. Would you love to see a PPFD converter. Other than that, good job, especially on a well built app with no adds! 💪
Great app, just not what I'm looking for as a photographer. I need to see where the values are coming from and this app doesn't have a window that shows you your subject. Otherwise, I have no complaints and think the developer has created a great little app.
Not a photographer, but I have been using this app on my S8 active to compare relative intensity changes when filtering a mix of low/mid/high cri led light sources to alter their color temp or reduce blue wavelength light. Has been helpful for establishing baseline values and changes thus far.
Use it all the time to test torches/LEDs. Made me a lot of money on eBay especially!? 90,000lm?? NO!! actually same as the rest of LEDs around 320lm output for a T6 led. Funnily enough!! They are all the same output!? Well, apart from the CREE ones that aren't!! 🤭.
Can you add more light options for greenhouse? White led, purple led, blue/red led and so on. Thank you
App drains your battery when installed. The app doesn't even need to be on, just installed and eats half a 5000 mah battery per day. Uninstalling it gives back a whole day of battery life. That's sad because the app has good functionality. Response to devel: Yes it dose drain battery. No changes were made to my device other then installing the app, battery drained like crazy. Uninstalled the app a few days later and battery drain went back, gaining a day of use.
I use the meter for placement of greenhouse cacti, it seems to work very well. I can not figure how to check the accuracy except with the reference of full sun readings and full moon readings. Is this a good way to check accuracy? Great app love it.
Good to have. Able to figure out lighting ratios after taking readings. I'm an amateur and had to figure out how to change the lighting after taking the readings, but it was helpful to have them.
Genuine****** star app development. GENIUS. NOW MY HOUSE PLANTS ARE GETTING THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF LIGHT AND ARE GROOOOWING GREAT. THANKS FOR THIS FREE APP WILL PRO IN A FEW DAYS.
This is a great photometer! The interface is clean, and the readings seem fairly accurate. I just wish that it was open source and available on F-Droid.
Well thought out, easy to use app. Needed something quick and reasonably accurate to measure office lighting. App has preset calibration for my Pixel phone, down to model and sensor manufacturer. Nice.
It's now May 2022 and I'm still using this app. . Still works great . never fails , never has trouble running , flawless 2021 -Great experience. Great app . I cant stand these other idiots complaining about their FREEEEEE APP. Go make it yourself then smartasses , or go buy a fifty dollar meter off ama. I've been using your free version , but intend to make a pro purchase on payday this week. Thanks again for your skill and creativity making this app, it has helped me numerous times .
