That’s what Lyf is for: a platform to share stuff that might be too personal for your other social media, without the fear of judgement or criticism.
Your journeys (otherwise known as “beats”) can include your obstacles as well as your achievements – both have value within the Lyf community. And because there’s no shortage of what life can throw at you, you can have as many beats as you want.
Each beat has its own timeline and privacy setting, because each of your experiences are unique: you can choose to share your beat with select people, share with the entire Lyf community, or wear a mask and be completely anonymous – there’s no wrong way to engage. To ensure a positive experience, anonymous beats are kept troll-free by only allowing the beat-maker to post and comment anonymously, while followers must use their username to comment.
Whether you’re battling anxiety, dealing with infidelity, coping with loss, overcoming illness, struggling with addiction, or questioning your sexual identity, you’ll be inspired by a world of support in the palm of your hand. Don’t feel like sharing yet? No problem. Instead of following people, you can follow their beats and get insight about your own challenges along the way.

Lyf Support offers one free 15 minute trial per user, and for a small in-app purchase of USD $4.99, users are able to engage in a 30 minute session with the ability to repeat whenever they please.

I can't believe how much I needed a platform like this. Lessening the emotional labor burden by sharing with others always helps, but sometimes those in our lives have their own burdens and can't always share the load and remain healthy. While the app isn't perfect, it's reliable enough to use regularly and what it does more than makes up for any performance issues.
Easy to use, super accessible. Great place to vent and make new friends ☺️ However sometimes it takes 3 or 4 minutes AFTER signing in for it to load.
I loved this app and what it stood for. Sadly the app now forces an update saying the older version will no longer work. The new update looks nice and is great in theory but needs reworking. A lot of the text is overlaying, there are more images that clutter the screen. As reported in app, this is not accessibility-friendly. Making it almost useless for those with sight difficulties. This is unfair to a portion of the user-base. More people are opting to not update or downgrade the version now
Not really happy with the update. It became more of a usual social media app, than the ones I got used to. The likes are now highlighted as if the numbers matter, the scrolling while you type isn't really going well. It became more complicated and personal. Really unhappy now. I hope they bring back the amount of privacy it offers back then. I appreciate the fingerprint option, but not really the main interface. I also don't like the idea of being able to add friends.
It is a great way to just focus on that one moment or situation without having your whole life broadcast simultaneously as it is on Facebook. The beat lives only as long as you need it to be on display for others' feedback/advice/opinion. Without judgments of the rest of your story and you decide what gets publicized on your behalf in the story as it develops. My favorite part is having multiple beats on different things and not everything gets the same privacy setting because you set it from the beginning for each individual beat. I may not use it daily, but it IS a venting vehicle! Thanks lyf!
Interesting and clean. However, I have found three bugs. One: My profile picture doesn't change (I select an image, press save, but it doesn't change). Two: Same scenario with the background images for Experiences (can't change them). Three: Even though I disabled comments, people can still comment. I have tried restarting the app, uninstalling then re-installing, clearing cache, etc. Please fix ♡
The app has a nice layout and I feel it has a lot of potential but on my first day of having it I tried to sign up via Google but it wouldn't work, I decided I'd just sign up manually which worked fine. After hopping off for an hour or two, opening the app again I had been logged out tried to log in again and it wouldn't let me at first but it seems it was just very delayed. Now though when I opened it everything was blank and not loading so.. Proceed at your own discretion.
I wanted to try the app...when I was setting up an account, it would not allow me to choose a country. Everytime I tried to scroll down to find my country, it automatically scrolled right back up to the top. I gave up & deleted the app...if that's what's going to happen, the app isn't worth my time. No stars, if it would allow that.
Ya can shared a photo but that's not the Orinda at function. I have found in spite of its advertised themes/purpose, like anything unmonitored, n though it may not be or seem to follow it's them... It morphs into something different. While good sometimes, there are times this transformation can really create quite a challenge.
Been on it for long time, great place to share. New update. Well has added good things, but am I the only one out of...how many users...who can't see the screen when I type a post? Noticed the area for the post is small, it doesn't scroll up, my keyboard takes up the post area when typing. But it's gotta be the update since it was fine when it came to "screen size" and scrolling in old app. Have written support at least 3 times: no reply. STILL need 2 add send post to Google Drive (etc).
It's a good outlet for sure, a lot better than Twitter, where even ppl with emotional, psychological and depression, anxiety, etc ignore you. With this app you know ppl at least have something in common and it is all in one place, specifically for the issues. Good place to express yourself.
I love the app been here for like a month now and met some pretty cool suppirtive ppl. But for the ladt 2 weeks it keeps crashing and I cant ever read stuff with out ut freezing abd kicking me out the app. No matter how nany times I refresh it. It does the same thing. Screen freezes then app just don't work. And it's really starting to pmo!!!
Good app been using it for a while now, I'm having login problems won't let me sign into my account just keeps popping up with a unknown error occurred, please try again later.
I personally like the app a lot. I don't read other peoples beats and prefer to write my own. I've only had this app for a day but I find it easy to get support for whats going on in my life. I really like how you can be anonymous and I use that feature a lot. Some people are using this app for inappropriate things but you cant really expect much. Great app and keep up the good work. I would like to see more options to describe your beat and at least 5 things to choose instead of 2.
I am not sure if I wrote a review when I first joined this app over 3-years ago, so sorry if I am a repeat. I love this app, it has really changed my life in so many ways, it is a safe place for me to express myself and get much needed support on my roughest of days. I love the Lyf community.❤
Bit boring, like I guess if you interact with a lot of people it may not be but there's not much you can do. I start writing a post on my 'beat' the app shuts down half way through so I have to start the whole thing again. Very annoying and limits me to 'beats' that are very short.
It worked fine for months but now I'm not able to log in to my account anymore even though I never logged out. I even uninstalled and installed the app again, still doesn't work. It just tells me "invalid credentials". I've been having this issue for 1 or 2 weeks now. Before that, I liked it, so I still want to give you an okay review
I use this to help me vent. And the people on the app are supportive. It has helped me so far and to the people who don't know who to go to or need a medium to go to this app is perfect. It's about making a goal and your journey to reaching that goal. So it can be used for more than mental health purposes. And you can post anonymously, which is good when you need to express something sensitive or personal. 10/10, would recommend.
If you tab out of the app while typing a post, it deletes the post. Really frustrating when you're a few hundred words into a heartfelt story that you wanted to share with others. Quite a nice app conceptually, though. Could use a cleaner navigation.
I really love this app! I actually feel supported here and people dont act really rude when they try helping you. It genuinely feels like a safe environment that you can go to vent journal etc. Im not sure if it is just my Samsung A11 but it wont let me update to the latest version despite efforts to troubleshoot. I just thought the devs should be aware of that otherwise i love this app.
This app had been brilliant for ages, then all of a sudden, it wont log me in. When I am connected to my wifi and tey to log in, it says 'a server error occured' and when I try without being connected to wifi, it says something about a server host. I would definitely mark higher if this could be resolved
Love lyf! It's whole concept and vision for those of us who sometimes feel alone in the world. It's a great place to come and relate with others and show your support in many different ways. Also the beats are awesome and allows you to work on several beats at a time. Great app all around 👍
Very nice app to socialize and gain support or give support. Some technology downfalls like if you have to redownload the app and you cant remember yourpassword there is no way to recover it which is dumb. The worse part is always getting in. Even when starting it if the wifi gets disturbed the app goes off and you have to restart your journaling. So the biggest pain is getting on no password recovery, wifi ect.. the rest is great.
This app looks great but it just keeps crashing every time I open it and I just downloaded it.
Amazing app. It's amazing there's a platform apecifically for venting, as not many people like it when you do that on, say, Instagram. They know what they're getting into here. One suggestion I'd showing feedback when a button is pressed. Sometimes it takes a few seconds for a press to register, which is fine. It's just the loading time. But I dont always know if it's loading or if I missed the button.
